Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, and Dave Taylor vs Mike Quackenbush, Johnny Saint, and Jorge "Skayde" Rivera - Chikara 3/28/09

Damn. That's awful. An all time great, gone way too young. Rest in Peace.

I just got a copy of his book in the mail yesterday. Very sorry to hear this. RIP Mr. Hamilton

I'm picturing Wyatt in a singlet, and that mask with headgear over top of it and that would be amazing.

Sinclair owned stations seem to be using the program as filler these days. My local Fox station will run hours of old episodes back to back on Saturday and Sunday afternoons when they have open slots to fill.

So I am watching some Keijo Mutoh matches from his run in Puerto Rico as part of the Ninja Express with Kendo Nagasaki and I just had a question. Who is their manager guy in the red and white mask? -

Did it become a thing when Ken Shamrock came in? -
Was just curious if anyone happened to be attending this weekend, and might be willing to attempt to help me out with something? https://www.tmartpromotions.com/ for anyone wondering what it is.

So going by this break down, and WWE's track record, we should expect either Orton, Rollins, or The Fiend to be the person to unseat Roman.

I didn't know anything about her history, but do agree that she does look older. I just looked at her wikipedia page earlier, and it had her listed as 22. 32 would make a lot more sense.

I thought the Xia Li/Raquel Gonzalez match was pretty decent until the injury happened. I had no idea that Xia Li was only 22 years old. If she continues to progress and get better, she could be great.

It never fails to amaze me that in a company that employs something like 200 wrestlers, the moment they have the slightest blow to their ego or reputation, the first thing they do is go "Find me someone who was popular 25 years ago." I can only imagine what an amazing boost for morale that is.

Other than what looked like some minor language barrier miscommunication between Yuka and Penelope during their match, I felt like this was a pretty solid all around edition of Dynamite. Getting back on the road is going to end up being a huge thing for AEW as people are obviously super excited to see the product. They were popping like crazy for Christian/Hardy, the aformentioned women's match, and everything else. I do think that if they continue with the Black/Cody feud, the crowd is going to double turn them whether they want too or not!

I always thought Brock looked awesome in the UFC with his mountain man beard. It's a shame he never brought it to WWE.

I saw Miyu Yamashita in Chikara several years ago and thought she was absolutely fantastic. I'd like to get into TJPW. What's the best way to do that not living in Tokyo!

AEW Dynamite - July 7th, 2021 - On The Road Again
Blehschmidt replied to Flyin' Brian's topic in AEW
I'm really hoping the crowd loudly chanting TOMMY, TOMMY puts an end to the Malachi Black name before it gets off the ground. -
What? You don't have fond memories of Season 4, Episode 18 of World Class! Yeah, it's the shits.
-
Peacock has added back all of the World Class and the limited amount of Smokey Mountain that was previously up. So apparently they are attempting to follow up on that SummerSlam promise!

Tommy Dreamer tweeted that he talked to Terry Funk on the phone today and that Terry is not in bad health. He said direct quote from Terry. "I'm currently sitting in my assisted living place with my thumb up my ass whistling dixie but I don't remember the words!"

and then takes a nice long vacation so that Guevara and Santana/Ortiz can get some shine without him.

Under-the-radar wrestling book recommendations
Blehschmidt replied to Cross Face Chicken Wing's topic in Pro Wrestling
I just finished the Tom "Rocky" Stone book, and I'm not really sure how to rate it. Formatting wise it is a disaster. There is no time line, it jumps all over the place, the editing is the shits. At one point he is talking about how nice Owen Hart is, and how big of an asshole Bret was in 1994, then he was saying how sorry he was Owen died, like it happened days after Bret was a dick to him in 94. If you can get past that, tt is your typical wrestling book with some stuff that will have you laughing out loud, and some stuff that will have you going "No way in hell that happened." He thinks very highly of himself, but at the same time realizes he was a jobber. it is a very strange dichotomy. But, if you are reading it on Kindle, you really can't beat the price.
