I know I saw something with her and Piper once, I think on his Twitter when it was announced she was first hospitalized.

It seemed ECW knew their audience well, where I think WWF and WCW at best guessed and at worst didn't care at all for the sake of massaging and satisfying egos. Not just Paul, but the talent as well. On one hand it's pretty easy to do that when everyone is from roughly the same part of the world that they were performing in, on the other it's still quite endearing anyway. The same could be said for Memphis, the Carolina's, Texas, Florida, etc. etc. Even WWWF. In making his product a world-wide attraction, Vince lost a lot of that and the people who tried to compete with him didn't go for it much at all.

One thing I forgot to mention that surprised me about that shoot was Bret putting over Balls Mahoney as a worker.

Didn't realize Greg started this early in the year with them, especially as he was in the Royal Rumble just a few months earlier.

The way Lawler told it on Austin's podcast was that the next day it was the talk of the city, take it for what that's worth. It looks like Roddy Piper might be on the outs with WWE. What's even more strange is the comment Monsoon made during the WrestleMania match that "win, lose or draw it's the final time we'll see that particular belt" but Hogan continued to wear it until the following February.
