Dave mentioned that WWE didn't expect most of their fanbase to know who AJ was, and him getting huge reactions made them realize their fans know TNA guys. That comment was in response to being asked if Bobby Roode and Eric Young asked to be released to sign WWE and/or NXT deals.
The award was that high since the jury basically wanted to give Gawker the biggest fuck you possible. Considering the laws in Florida require Gawker to put up around $50 million to appeal, this may be it for them either way.
This really can't be undersold. I see a lot of newer fans who honestly believe current WWE is the WORST SHOW EVER and have no idea (luckily for them) what it was like watching the dying days of WCW. I might get mad at WWE's stubbornness, but Russo booked WCW shows usually left me feeling like I just gave myself brain damage by watching it.
The last two days have been another ECW TV mega dump. What I find weird is how there's like a four year gap from 2006-2010 where there's no episodes of Raw at all. I went to go re-watch the build to WM and the Ric Flair retirement show, and imagine my surprise when there is none available.
The end was great too when Regal came out to announce the women's title match. Asuka had a grin looking like a great white shark with a bucket of fresh meat, and Bayley looking like she was just sentenced to death.
Have to give Jericho credit for still finding a way out of the match despite being pissed off. Trying to remember the last time I saw a match end in a shoot DQ.
Robinson didn't appear to know that A: Neville was legit hurt and B: Jericho was trying to call an audible to end things quickly. You could clearly hear Jericho say something like "I fucking told you he was hurt" and Robinson saying "don't fucking touch me".
There's still a significant portion of the US that doesn't have fast enough internet to subscribe to a streaming service like the network and their only outlet would be PPV no matter how much WWE calls them idiots for doing so.
Also Dave confirmed on the WO show today that Neville broke his shin and ankle like RVD did on the same spot years ago, so that sucks.
The thing about JR is that a lot of his anti internet stuff is kind of a work considering he's been tight with Dave forever and was probably one of his inside sources.
Jericho's a million times better as a heel, and while there's nothing inherently wrong with their program, I wonder how beating the guy who only comes back to lose to other people is going to build up AJ.
To be fair, they tend to create advertising way in advance so there's been numerous times someone was advertised with a belt they haven't won yet/without a belt they haven't lost.
So Dave just casually mentioned on last night's shows that the last tapings were it for Ryan Ward and he's being promoted to the main roster creative team to work on Smackdown. A lot of people seemed to be giving him the lion's share of credit for being the one behind NXT's success, might be interesting to see how things develop with someone else.
Having the angle end with Shane getting control of the B show the company barely pays attention to is only a slightly better outcome than a complete return to status quo.
