I think the women's division has always been a priority for HHH. Plus Steph threw her name behind the "revolution". I believe Hunter has a vested interest in returning the Horsewomen style buzz to NXT women's division.

Asuka's been in NXT for two years I imagine she'll be moving up when she drops the title. There's plenty of room for a few top Joshi talents in NXT.

So who the hell are they going to get to fill this thing up? Hojo and Shirai are signed, but neither have reported to the PC yet. If both of them aren't in it who's out there capable of making a final four run, and having people give a shit? Toni Storm seems decent, but I wouldn't say she's a lock to put on a bunch of really good matches. Kimber Lee is used as enhancement talent in NXT so I doubt they're going to act like she's a big deal all of a sudden.

I'm interested to see what match main events. I's not sure either Orton/Jinder or Owens/Styles will have a clean finish.

The SDL tag division is pretty dire with Alpha flopping. I could see AOP running thorough every team they have, and having a good feud with the Usos. I don't think AOP needs to be polished vets to work their style. Stroman was greener than they are when he was called up. They already had a good match with Alpha about a year ago.
-
I could see AOP getting the call up pretty soon. Yeah they've been in there with good talent, but they've more than held their own in some pretty epic matches. I hope to see Dunne and Bate working some of the NXT regulars, and not just UK guys in the near future.

[2017-05-20-WWE-NXT Takeover: Chicago] Bobby Roode vs Hideo Itami

I thought Itami came off like a bland jobber, and this was a really good performance from Roode.- 6 replies

[2017-05-20-WWE-NXT Takeover: Chicago] Tyler Bate vs Pete Dunne

Not much to complain about hear I thought maybe the spiral tap was unnecessary, but that's nit picking. Strong MOTYC -
Or just imagine the current universe where Kairi Hojo and Io Shirai have been signed as potential Asuka opponents. Ember is a dud of a character so I really hope they don't plan on wasting Asuka's first loss on her. I thought this show overachieved as everything was at least good with one great match and a great angle to close.

Yeah that UK match was outstanding.

Asuka is the best character in WWE right now. Just a total homerun performance without needing to say more than a few words at a time to get everything across. It feels like they are on the cusp of another golden age for the women's division with Asuka getting more interesting over a year into her title run, and two top flight potential challengers for her just signed in Shirai and Hojo. And yes Nikki Cross is completely awesome in her role. I wish she would leave Sanity because she's too good for that group. MMA fighter feels like such a lazy gimmick. I guess it was cool and fresh when Shamrock did it 20 years ago. Drew Mac should be the champ by years end. Dude just looks and carries himself like a star.

I think making NXT a 90 minute show would be the best solution. Do two tapings per month of two episodes each. I want to see the young developmental talent get a chance to find their footing along with the Strong/Itami matches. With a 90 minute show they could have at least two women's matches and a few angles per show. I do have a decent amount of confidence that a women's only show would be treated fairly because basically for 3 years now the women's division has been one of the best things in NXT and was pretty clearly the best thing in 2015.

I think it's hard to compare tv workers in the post squash give every match away on free tv era to the ones who did most of their work pre Monday night wars. I'm sure someone like Bret Hart would have a better resume if he were working 20 minute tv main events every week in the early to mid 90's.

Has any other top star had such a lackluster career like Orton?
jcmmnx replied to rzombie1988's topic in Pro Wrestling
If Seth Rollins counts as a top star then yes. I've seen Orton have matches with Harper and Corbin lately that are better than any Rollins matches I can recall from the last few years. -
Nia Jax does nothing for me. Sasha was the standout in that match to me with her excellent bumping. Stroman should beat Brock at next years Mania.

Ambrose needs a heel turn. He's done all he can with this wacky lunatic crap.

Reigns is the best ex Shield guy by many miles that's for sure.
-
From the WWE that I've seen in 2017 Stroman is the guy that has stood out most to me. After all the shitty big men Vince has pushed over the years he finally gets one who is awesome, and doesn't give him anything for Mania. I'm pretty dumbfounded at that.
-
Roman's lack of charisma really came through to me in this match. He just doesn't feel like a big enough deal to be closing Mania's to me. Good worker, good look, but I just don't see a star when I watch him perform. If he had half of Asuka's swagger or in ring charisma I could buy him as a top guy.

Man I wish the streak was still intact for roman to break. That would be a legendary meltdown from the smarks.
