Interesting visual to see Reigns by himself on the left side of the ring during intros.
-
This match/booking will have to blow me away to save this show. But then again I didn't spend $50 on this and I will forget it within a few days.
-
Listless and poor battle royal. So many guys just lying around. Heck even standing around. Del Rio and Cesaro were barely trying as they were in the corner together at one point. Kofi's spot was ridiculous with Big E's participation but it was the only memorable spot. Cool with Cesaro not winning as the IC Title means little. Was hoping for Slater to win when he got the final four. Would have been fine with Sheamus winning at the end as just combining titles together.
-
Are these two bald security guys the new Harris twins? One of them had real red nose there.
-
Wow, not expecting that result. Had my first real network issues tonight during match as my feed froze and my PS3 restarted on me.
-
Jericho goes flying off the apron into the camera and the cameraman just stands his ground like nothing happened. Then they completely botch a move and redo it immediately. Looks so bad.
-
Well so much for the match I was the most looking forward to. Don't think the card was strong enough for them to be pulling that match from the show.
-
I wait to see what happens with Rollins/Ambrose but was immediately surprised to see it set as second match of card. Didn't pay too much attention to Divas match. The commentary was annoying.
-
First two falls were rushed but a bit expected. It was leaning a bit disappointing for me until the third fall. Plenty of Harper in match which helped. Rowan with the double superplex! Can't recall a guy being involved in all three falls like Harper especially with him getting pinned twice.
-
Highlight was Alex Riley picking Heath Slater to win the Battle Royal Yeah, that was funny. He came off completely serious too.
-
I was just wondering about the theme. I feel the intro more fits Bray.
-
This PPV seems to have come really quick after MITB. Looking forward to Rollins/Ambrose. I'll be happy if other stuff delivers.

Was immediately laughing with Born In The USA opened the show. Great to see the Boston Garden make its debut on Titans. Now lets get to Rocky Raymond. I love the idea of him being Cliff Clavin! Part of me wishes we didn't know his name. Clavin would have been perfect. I have lived just outside Boston for over 25 years now. Maybe I have got use to the accent. But I don't know a whole lot of folks who have a accent as heavy as Rockys. Most of the people I do know are over 50. Go to some dive bar in Boston that has a bunch of old guys and you will hear those accents. It is really is an amazing start to 1975 to get these clipped matches with Rocky doing commentary. It was a total riot in the second match where he had Bruce music playing also. Was it cannon buckle or corner buckle that he used? He also said plexiglass for the guardrail. The plexiglass would be only used for hockey and would be nowhere near the ring since it was set up at center ice/court. Thought the referees at MSG were dressed as janitors. Been watching loads of Night Court lately. Astin was Buddy in show. "I'm feeling much better now." Matches at MSG were out of order. We get an announcement right away that Bruno was DQ'd in his match. But that match was next after tag. Ring Announcer kept saying "Ladies and Gentlemen" during the intro. Pete was really down on this matches. I admit to not really paying much attention during first tag match. Was distracted. More on that later. Great job Kelly on coming up with back history of Sammartino/Arion. It will be interesting to see how much Bruno gives compared to Backlund. I thought he did a lot of selling here. Bruno's comeback was awesome. Now that is how you hulk up! Crowd flipped out as Bruno went crazy on the attack. Even Skaaland hit the ring to try calm down Bruno. Easily the best match of the night. Since you guys tend to really notice fans, I was very surprised that a certain one was not mentioned. Not until Kelly brings up a very enthusiastic young lady in the crowd. I spotted her almost immediately in the first tag match and was totally captivated by her. She cannot sit down more than three seconds. She pumps her fists and throws her arms in the air every moment. She throws punches the same time as the baby faces do it. Jumping up non stop. Having to brush the hair out of her face as she is just going so crazy. About the most intense fan I have ever seen. Could not keep my eyes off her. I'd want to go back in time just to go to an MSG show with her. So lets be clear she was doing this in all three matches for the baby faces. You had to go ruin it and call her a Strongbrow rat! . .. ... That sleaze segment was so hilarious.

Titans of Wrestling #0: A Titans Primer
Kevin Ridge replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Pete has a very impressive disc collection. Loved that Super 8 was the first entry of the Titans terminology. I remember the Three Wise Men nickname Parv used for the earlier shows. Guess that one didn't stick. Felt like the old days here with the loud music cutting in throughout show. In spirit of Lucas, why not just dub over the full episode 1 like it never happened. Or the WWE treatment with Ventura on DVDs where they completely removed his audio from matches. Would have been interesting to hear Parv talk to himself. Backlund versus Sarge was great. Slaughter really took it to Bob during this match. Piledriver was wicked. Massive blood by Backlund. He had blood on the back on his legs. Some more inconsistent referee performance and Bob spends ages outside the ring. Kal loved this one and was going crazy when Slaughter did his corner bump to the outside. How great was it to see Dominic standing in the ring wearing a title around his waist?! Wasn't expecting this one to be so good. Albano showing just changed the mood of everything. Loved the brawling and chaos. I felt cheated though at the end when Dominic got the chair in his hands and was ready to charge at the Blackjacks. Footage stopped at the point. I bet the riot started right at that moment! Yes, more mail bag! No, not really. -
You guys obviously spared no expense on this awards show spectacular. It was a big budget production with some of the most popular celebrity guests in attendance. Agreed with most of the award winners but here are the differences I had on my ballot. Best Hair: I went with Bruno. Sammartino's hair looked great and got through all those heated battles he had in the ring. Garea's wasn't tested enough. Part of me was hoping Race got the victory though so we could get a drunken speech out of him. Announcer: Can't argue with the guy who the show is named after but I didn't see as much Philly as you guys. McMahon gets the pick for me as did an excellent job doing solo commentary. I also really liked his role in some of the earlier interviews we got to see. Jobber: Doherty as I see him more as a jobber compared to Baron in 1980. Fashion Plate: This has to be Blassie. McMahon wore the same jacket most of the year. Blassie switch things up . When McMahon interviewed Blassie it was clear who the best dressed man was. Blassie got robbed on this one! Wrestler of the Year: Had Backlund my pick for the most part. Just thought he had better high end matches. But this award is not just about what happens in the ring. You guys made a great case for Larry Z. His promos over the year and how his character developed. Plus he had his own good selection of matches. I feel similar to Parv on Zbyszko on his in ring ability. Use to not be a fan of him at all but his series with Regal in 94 really opened my eyes to what he could do. People really do need to check out Bruno/Larry feud. Incredibly enjoying to come across this stuff and see not just the matches but also the intense promos. Bruno was amazing during those. The matches were super heated. Most people have probably just seen the Shea cage match and with the audio of that and muted crowd it doesn't give the feud between these two justice. Have to see the whole thing. I think Patera/Backlund has a serious shot and finishing very high in my 80's ballot for WWF. Just was amazed by that one. Folks really need to check that out. What a wonderful tribute to Dominic Denucci with him winning the Lifetime Award! Not a dry eye in the audience. Well deserved. Nice to here Super 8 get a shout out at the end of the year even with Parv declaring he will be dead by 1981. Poor guy was probably in the audience video taping the whole Kallies show. Show was perfect for Johnny's talents but the whole crew was great here. This show was amazing done. I predict an Emmy award for you guys for best Variety Special.

Glad to be back at MSG so I can watch the matches! Kal can't seem to stay away even if it is not in Philly! Parv returns and brings the spoilers for future shows! Would love to see video of that announcement about Moondog King getting hit by a car. Vince ripping on himself for the bad joke was hilarious. Opening match was great. Get a lot more out of the Moondogs in the ring. Really like Martel in this match. But was impressed with Garea coming in off those tags. He was really fired up. Looking forward to more matches. Well I laughed at Johnny's joke during Killer Khan bio. Nerveholds were starting to lose me during match but was a strong last few minutes. Thought Khan looked pretty strong surviving the piledriver and atomic drop. German suplex was sweet. Pete times his exit perfectly before the Inoki match. I struggled getting through this one as kept falling asleep. Would go back and rewind and try watch from where I last remembered. Must have done this about three times. Was laughing when you guys couldn't remember the finish. Watched it last night and I don't remember. I was wrong on the finish for Patera/Patterson. I thought it was a silly finish with Patera getting counted out for being on apron and not in the ring. Lots of guys leaving with Patera going too. Lots of laughs as usual. I cannot wait for the Kallies!

I am out of the loop on news it seems as don't have twitter and didn't know about the new Pink Floyd album. Don't think they should bother using the name if Waters is not going to be involved. If they are just using stuff from mid 90's sessions than it sounds like a B-side album. I'll still give it a listen though. Actually like Division Bell. Much better than FInal Cut. Wish I had got to see them live. Next best thing for me has been Australian Pink Floyd which are great live. The stuff from Momentary Lapse of Reason sounds much better live than studio version. Sounds like you had a good time at the WWE show Johnny. Would have been hilarious if you ended up brawling with those Cena fans. You should have done a Harley impersonation to stir things up more. Too many podcasts and so little time for me to devout to them. But this was a fun quick hour to listen to.

There is still enough content for me to make it worth it. Lots of PPVS I have never seen that I still have to get around to. Would like more variety though with other shows/territories. Went to watch episode of Raw from 95 this morning but it was missing while the following four episodes were up. Still not getting the best live picture either as it skips backwards a few seconds to the point where I will end up a few minutes behind the actual live feed when watching a PPV.

Ah, no Parv for the show. Glad to see he eventually recovered from his ordeal. Thought those sirens we heard in the background were for his ambulance. Yeah, those double shots must have been hell with the long drive in between shows. Pete being all harsh on Dominic! Glad Kelly didn't back down and stood by Denucci. We do need a Ernie Ladd bio. Kal seems to really dislike higher education. Maybe he was just ahead of the times of people spending ridiculous amounts of money on tuition. Loved the fantasy booking with Bob Crane and Kal. Rudman would have been a riot to drink with. Guess I didn't miss much from the matches on show other than commentary. Great words about Bruno.

Bill Dunn seemed to randomly share responsibilities with Fink in 1994. But Finkel is my favorite. I love how he announced new champions as mentioned by others. It was pretty funny when he did Punk's entrance for Survivor Series and just waited on camera for his cue to do introduction.

Titans of Wrestling #23: Continental Wrestling

Well now you were probably hidden behind a glass wall but my comments were more directed towards a gentleman who lost an arm wrestling contest to a girl and got hit in the head in a stone throwing contest.- 12 replies

Feel like a lot of those Williams/Gordy tag matches from early 90's go a good 15 minutes too long. Those are really difficult to get through on rewatch. More so is those AJPW/NOAH main events that would go overly long. Always thought they needed to mix things up by throwing in a main event around the 10-15 minute mark. Ogawa could sneak out a quick victory but most of the time it was the same old stuff of going 25-30 minutes. But really the thing that came to my mind is the TV shows in general. I much prefer to go through the hour long shows. Going to two and three hours becomes a chore to get through.

I can't believe I didn't comment on Kelly gooning it up at a Halloween party. It is nice to have a Titan's host who can take care of things.- 12 replies

I love Jerry to really tackle more Strongbow matches and his career in general. Maybe make a case for booking him to win both WWF and NWA World Titles in 1978.

They seem to be trying to upload 3 to 4 episodes of Raw per week right now. Yeah, you get the random Best of Raw show from other years here and there. I still feel like we won't seen any Nitros until Raw catches up to September 1995 which isn't too far away actually with Raw being up to March as this point. Still about two months away though. But when they need to upload Raw and Nitro at same time that will be more work. And then when those shows get to two hours it will slow things down even more. You are talking about them getting Raws up through the end of 2011. A long way to go. I understand that being their focus with the whole Monday Night War stuff. But again we are not going to see WCW Saturday Night, WWF Action Zone, etc. for a long time.
