  1. Stupid Question Time: Dixie? As in Dixie Carter? I honestly believe that TNA would have been fine if they just held a few things to be true: 1. Less is more. 2. The nobodies of today are the stars of tomorrow so book them like stars in order to see that tomorrow. 3. If an idea does not pass the WCW 2000 snuff test, do not (under any circumstance) execute that idea. 4. Keep Russo as an idea man and nothing more.
  2. Ziggler needs to spend some time on Main Event and Superstars. He is instant death to anyone he touches now unless he is on the losing end. Ziggler is in such a weird position as he shouldn't be getting wins over Owens, Styles, Ambrose, Rusev, etc., but at the same time he cannot afford to keep losing to those guys as the fans are still behind Ziggler and want him to push into the title scene again. WWE fucked the Ziggler push up on two different occasions: MITB cash-in on Raw and the SS 2014 main event. Its time for Ziggler to get lost in a feud with Stardust and The Social Outcasts.Ziggler needs to stay in the lower card matches until post Summer Slam where he is hopefully some what fresh for a re-introduction to the main audience.
  3. Has this always been the case in pro wrestling? Wrestlers who feel they are entitled to a certain reaction? I never understood that thinking. Some people would rather get fake cheers and whatever the heat is suppose to be instead of a genuine reaction of what is being presented. I know WWE has that mindset (look at the editing of Smackdown).
  4. People keep talking as if/when Reigns beats HHH at Mania that will turn the crowd in his favor. HHH got a huge pop after he won the Royal Rumble in front of what people are calling a 'traveling smarky crowd'. Does anyone really believe that in front of the biggest traveling smarky crowd in WWE history, Roman Reigns is going to walk out with a big face reaction and get the same response on Raw the following night?
  5. Loved the show. I do agree about the main event, but not because it had a female wrestler. I think that Mil should not be eating any pins at this point. No near falls. No 1 1/2. Nothing. He should just be kicking ass until him and Puma step in the ring. Vampiro selling in silence was great and Strike not causing attention to it was also a nice touch as it got two angles over without beating us in the head like a certain other company would do.

    NXT talk

NXT has the potential to blow out Mania. Amazing. I hope no one gets hurts, because that card is fucking stacked and has made Mania season all the more exciting.

    WWE vs Lana

For the most part, its always best for wrestlers not to respond to these types of things are more often-than-not they are lying and just come off really bad. I remember when Victoria/Tara went on that long "show your sources" rant on her myspace and she just came off the absolute worse and even topped it off with 'give me a polygraph' instead of asking for a drug test. We saw how this ended with Tiffany/Drew, so hopefully this doesn't end the same way. Question: Why would a company want to break up a real couple? Even if I was a writer and didn't want Lana with Rusev, what do I gain by breaking them up? It's not like she would start going out with me. I am not sure the thinking behind it. Unless the thrist is THAT real.
  8. This would require WWE to turn Ziggler heel and have Roman go over him constantly. The problem is that Roman is currently working and in some cases going over people who are better than him. The crowd is going to shit on Reigns when he is getting the better of Wyatt, Cesaro, Rollins, Ambrose, Owens, etc. In what way are Ambrose and Wyatt better than Reigns? Ambrose and Wyatt get a consistent reaction from the crowd. When we start talking about who has had the better matches, that is when it starts to get dicey. From a reaction standpoint: Ambrose is better than Reigns because Ambrose is over in promos, during his entrance, and in the ring. Wyatt is better than Reigns because he is over in promos, during his entrance, and signature spots in the ring. His mileage on bell-to-bell investment from the crowd depends on who is working with and what I feel is the anticipation from the crowd of a run-in from The Wyatt Family. Perhaps I am being too generous with the second point on Wyatt, but I feel that he is one of the only guys on the roster that you can pretty much guarantee some bullshit finish is coming to the matches he is in. Wyatt and Ambrose may be spotty in the ring at times, but their reactions are consistent. It also doesn't help Reigns that he is soon going to be a 3 time champion without beating Lesnar, Taker, or anyone with some real credibility left.

    WWE vs Lana

I had the same thoughts as the OP when I saw the Rock/Lana stuff. WWE should be really beyond the 'HAHA. YOU ARE A WOMAN AND YOU HAD SEX! HAHA! SLUT!' stuff from the 90's. This has a negative impact on the character(s) this type of talk is directed towards as it devalues them in the viewers eyes. The reason why people are making such a big deal about this with Lana are for two reason: 1. This is beyond petty and is just another big eye roll to WWE politics 2. Lana was actually, at one time, a strong female character. For a lot of the WWE Divas they are presented as ornamental objects of heterosexual male fantasies and used to justify, in some cases, wrestling not being 'gay' in the lest. WWE has crafted a narrative that the Divas are eye candy first and foremost, but the narrative has slightly changed recently. I would like to emphasis slightly. So what I find so interesting about Lana is that WWE is purposely being regressive with Lana's character and instead of presenting this strong powerful woman (like how the rest of the Divas are being positioned), she is the only one being called a slut, etc. on TV. Lana in 2014 was being booked like it was 2014, but now in 2016 she is being booked like its 1998. Lana has not been on TV and for all intents and purposes is insignificant to The Legion Of Nations and WWE as a whole at this point and has been exploited by WWE via her sexuality to create an 'entertaining' moment with/for The Rock. I am not sure how deep the rabbit hole goes with this one and I probably don't want to find out. Heat is fun and interesting to read but about it must suck to live it.
  10. Anyone who can work* who is currently in the mid-card doing absolutely dick should be turned heel. I mentioned Ziggler, but this also includes Mark Henry, Goldust, and in reality- that's it. Everyone else is either super cold that no segment of the audience really gives a fuck about and thus Reigns going up against them will not change the dynamic (i.e. Stardust) or is over enough that. Reigns needs to put the boots to guys who WE KNOW can work, but who the main fans are just worried about character alliance and the heel/face dynamic.I believe this will shift the paradigm. Unfortunately for this to work, WWE would have to essentially build its entire roster around the sole purpose of getting Roman over and the meta aspects of this entire angle would spread throughout the presentation of the company from top-to-bottom. Can you imagine the meeting where 5 guys are pulled in and essentially told they are all turning heel for the simple fact that over the course of a 6-8 month period they are going to be used to get Reigns over? YES! Something that drastic will need to be done all the while Reigns stays as FAR away from Styles, Owens, Cesaro, Taker etc. *mileage varies on Ziggler Re: The crowd WWE has worked itself into believing that the crowd is always just trying to get itself over and be contrarian when that isn't always the case. Yes, there are instances where people are clearly chanting something to appear to be counter-culture and start a revolution from the seats. What people don't realize is that John Cena represents the staleness of WWE and that WWE refusing to allow someone else to run with the ball for a substantial amount of time, metaphysically embodies the staleness.WWE's hard headiness has brought the company to the point where Cena is approaching 40 and there is no one to take over the kingdom. Its 3 minutes till doomsday and WWE is playing catch-up thinking that the fans opinion doesn't matter because the Cena paradigm shows otherwise. The problem with that is that happens once in a blue moon. Hogan in the early 90's, Cena in the late 2000's, and who else really? WWE is hoping that it can happen with Reigns, because if it does then the money will be fine and the product will be fine post-Cena. The reason why its not going to work long term with Reigns as it did with Cena is because people were actually protected during Ruthless Aggression and no one is protected during the Reality Era. Cena had a chance to establish himself against a lot of guys from The Attitude Era as well who had tons of credibility. Jericho, Taker, HBK, Mysterio, Hardy. Reigns doesn't have the opportunity as most of the major players from the Attitude Era are not seen as his peers (like they were with Cena), but instead as WWE Legends and the majority from the Ruthless Aggression Era (Lashley, Kennedy, MVP, Benjamin, Carlito, etc.) are completely irrelevant now. What do you mean? Do you mean that WWE creates a character only for the character to pop the crowd? The depth and complexity of the character completely going to shit as long a the pop is obtained? Or are you wondering what would happen if WWE just paid attention to who was actually getting a good reaction and put everyone else on Main Event/Superstars to do whatever they want? Mizdow would have bumped his way into a world title match against Daniel Bryan at WM, while Sheamus, Barrett, The Ascension, Stardust, Kane, and Big Show would be pulling Main Event/Superstars duty, and of course Ziggler would be the champion with Wyatt, Cesaro, Ambrose, and Owens are top guys chasing the belt.
  11. I never (and not saying you are accusing me of doing this), begrudge someone for making money in a non-sleazy way. I don't consider a grown woman or man going into contract negotiations for work to be a bad thing. The question I would like to ask people like Gorgeous George, Sunny, and Chyna is which is the scummiest business to work in: porn or pro wrestling?
  12. Yeah, Jackie was a 2 time Divas champion (winning her first title after the championship became active again), WWE CW champion, and she was also one of the trainers on the first ever Tough Enough. I've always felt that Jackie's presence in wrestling has more of a historical context more than anything else. Women, much less women of color, usually don't have a long career in wrestling compared to their male counterparts. If she would write a book one day, I would love to read it. Should she be in the HOF? For historical/social reasons, yes. For WORK...no.
  13. This is the only time in my life where I can truly say that I am looking up certain videos on the internet, purely for research purposes and curiosity. Of course pro wrestling got to me to this point. Anyways, add Gorgeous George to the list of people. Chastity was supposedly fired because WCW found out she was in a porn. You might remember her as Raven's sister in WCW and Woman #9023 suffering cane shots and being put through tables by men in ECW. Major Gunns (surprise) also did some porn before(?) WCW and I am not sure if Amy Weber should be included in this list as she was in WWE long enough to have a cup of coffee, but there you go. Finding out about Japan is bother surprising and unsurprising at the same time. What about Mexico? The UK? Surely its not just the American and Japanese wrestlers who have gone mad/decided to make some money outside the business. In this day-and-age, I am surprised that aside from the Hogan tape, nothing else has leaked. In all these years just one tape compared to a myriad of other from all across the entertainment industry.
  14. Since 2010, RR has had about 4-6 matches for the main card. I'd be surprised if they try and squeeze one more in. Unless of course something runs really short. WWE has done a really good job protecting the Ambrose/Owens match as that match has only happened once post the title change. Sure they have met in triple threats, tag matches, etc., but its worth noting that they didn't trade wins leading to the blow off. Thank God! Worse Rumble Winners Possible: 1. HHH 2. Bray Wyatt 3. Roman Reigns Anyone else will do
  15. I never found her attractive so I have no plans on seeing this. I am surprised it took this long for her to pull the trigger on something like this. So who are all the wrestlers that have done porn? Candice Michelle was prior to the business. Chyna and Sunny was after the business. AR Fox was in the business at the time (but lesser known) IIRC. Is there anyone else?
  16. I've always had Smackdown! I saw the pilot episode and the first actual episode (with theme music, setting, etc.). Smackdown was always attainable. As for a WWE show that I never got- Shotgun Saturday Night.
  17. I don't think so. Truth is probably closer with New Day, Usos, Titus, etc. vs. someone like Becky Lynch.
  18. I think its silly that TNA allowed WWE to 'catch-up'. Now at any point-in-time, WWE would have been able to out bid TNA at every step-of-the-way. I am under no delusion. When WWE didn't give two shits about bringing in guys like Zayn, Owens, Cesaro, etc. TNA could have been reasonable with wages and those guys MIGHT have had a run in TNA. Fast forward to 2016 and no 'legends' want to go to TNA and no hot indy acts are dying to go there either. The only way TNA can get people to come in is if the company tosses that person a Bellator style Rampage contract and/or grossly over pay.
  19. The DX stuff does not hold up at all to me. When I was in my teens, that shit was funny and cool. I do not wear baseball hats and the only one I had in my entire life was a DX hat my dad got for me and I loved it. Wore it whenever I could. Always wanted one of the shirts, but never got one. I liked everyone in DX and when HHH and Chyna 'left' DX at WM15, I thought it sucked (no pun). The DX 2000 reunion was cool until it became the HHH/Stephanie and the lackeys (this is after Gunn was kicked out). Everything after that has been weak sauce and I have been completely un-invested. As for the stuff I found so entertaining/cool/funny in 97-99, very few of those things have stood the test of time. There is no way in hell that the DX of 1998 would be able to get over today in the same level they did in 1998.
  20. I am not sure where Angle would land on my list (definitely not in the top 20) and that mainly due to his later work which I find too self-indulgent. Kurt Angle was the Davey Richards of the wrestling world before Davey Richards came about. People shit on finishers being killed dead in big WWE matches of the last 5 years or so, but Angle was doing it before it became chic. How many LOW-MID CARDERS kicked out of the Angle Slam and/or reversed the ankle lock? Angle got into an 'epic' formula match mode and wanted to have that type of match with everyone. As far as his TNA stuff, I would venture to say that it has held up better than his WWE stuff in some respects.
  21. Does WM 33 do better or worse business if WM32 has no 'legends' apart of the showcase? We can pretty much put money on Taker, Jericho, Rock, and HHH most likely being in matches at WM 32. Everyone else is a crap shoot (Booker, Goldberg, Angle, etc.). Do people really believe that come WM33, people will feel like WM 'isn't what it use to be' based off the WM32 card and will sit it out unless some big names appear (which will be even slimmer as the people everyone wants to see (The Hardys, RVD, etc.) will be much older/retired/dead?
  22. I believe it. I am not sure why some people are saying that this is completely out of the realm of possibility. A top star who is only interested in what he/she is doing that night? If I was in WWE at the time, why would I give a shit what Al Snow or Bob Holly are doing that night? Also, factor other mental and physical demands on the job, its not that crazy that the last thing on HHH's mind is reading an entire script from start-to-finish.
  23. Even as a kid I though the DOD was complete shit. An obese guy in blue pant acts as The Godfather as Sullivan (who is like 5'6) plays the lead henchman. No one in DOD looked like a threat or were good workers. Just no buys for me and then the stuff from the cave was the worse because I kept thinking 'why does everyone keep finding this cave'.
  24. I'm not a big Dean Ambrose fan for the simple fact that I feel like he is a character that is in a G rated movie and really should be in an R rated moved. As mentioned, the promos are good and when I see his stuff on youtube (and the non-ring in promos on Raw), I wonder why that presentation isn't [put into the forefront more as that is the actual interesting aspect of his work. I can go either way on his matches, but the majority of them do not offend me. I just know he could do so much more and catch strong fire if allowed to do so.
  25. Looks like I can still get 2,000 dollar seats at Mania. I am cannot find an accurate chart to show how many people purchased as of today. I am sure just the name only sells the event, but I am sure WWE is at a 60% capacity right now. Bigger names in sports haven't been able to fill out the place, so WWE really needs to come in with pretty much anyone who can walk and talk not named Hulk Hogan.
