  1. I seem to remember reading something like this happening in the early 90's but for the life of me cannot remember anything more than this. Did it happen? Was anybody of note also there? What was it even for?

Haha, if only my spawn were into wrestling...
  3. Just the normal outrage competition of twitter. Aye. I'm just amused that it's not just fans, but wrestlers getting annoyed. Anyone in contact with John Stossel? Maybe Austin can slap him a few times. Perhaps he is just looking to drum some attention for himself on this "hot topic", but as others have said this is such a non issue.
  4. Rotten news. Piper was easily one of the top 10 "known" pro wrestlers in the "real" world, and one of my favorites growing up and getting into wrestling. A huge loss. RIP Roddy.
  5. This all reminds me of Stanley Kubrick's "boxes".
  6. Superb!

Joe Legend (Just Joe WWF) did an interview around the time of the Lita / Edge pairing on screen saying that was booked a week after Edge and his then partner had decided to make another go of it when that situation became public.
  8. I hope this doesn't become an annoying thing.
  9. All subjective words. Your original point was that the match felt "your turn / my turn". It depends on what you subjective stance of what makes a good match is (which you have indicated above whilst unknowingly expressing it's subjective) but at the end of the day wrestling matches do tend to be "your turn / my turn" in a competitive match, it's the nature of the beast. But you are implying this is some form of dirty method and the choice of wording "your turn / my turn" sounds patronizing. It's meant to be a competitive contest.
  10. I expect a lot of Heroes of Wrestling talk on your podcast If that isn't the worst, I don't know what is? An honorable mention must go to New Blood Rising in WCW, 2000 which is the emblematic "WCW 2000" event.
  11. This is one criticism I've yet to understand. The alternative to this "turn" theory is a squash. If one doesn't like the offense, the selling, the approach in a given match explain why it didn't work. The fact that both participants had ball control doesn't get there. Well said. These sort of "sounds good on paper" criticisms are getting too wide spread, with zero foundation behind them.
  12. Just before he blew up in Japan appearing on just about everything out there for a short while, Bob Sapp making an appearance on WCW:
  13. Enjoying a lazy Sunday with a coffee and an old WO and came across this gem from Dec 97.
  14. Whether that be because it was short, forgettable or ill timed there are many examples of a chapter in a wrestlers career which are often forgotten about. FUNB era Hogan in 2000 WCW for example being referenced as being Terry Bollea on commentary. Wearing a tacky looking shirt and jeans to the ring, the entire episode would have been completely forgettable if it wern't for the fact it was so bad.
  15. Are you asking us to do your homework
  16. Here's the post in full. Dixie Carter is astonishingly unprofessional here.
  17. Watched the Rikishi YouShoot last night: nothing of interest really. I would have been happier with a couple of hours of BSK stories.
  18. For me the audio recording that leaked with his son trying to set up a reality show out of the car wreck is what soured me on the man, big time. Even watching classic Hulkster back, I can't get that call out of my head.
  19. What it the longest Low Ki has ever stayed in a single promotion?
  20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kYNNs2nYLA At the 10:30 mark, at the conclusion of the best angle in wrestling history...
  21. Going through my laptop photos and found a forum screenshot from the year 2000 of one of my early "Sidebottom" posts. That made me feel old :-(

  22. I'm not exactly a TNA fan, but OTT posts like this make me cringe.
  23. Let's have a discussion about these two gimmick matches and what you prefer. I'll accept any cage variation, i.e. War Games, Elimination Chamber, Hell in the Cell and any ladder match variation, i.e. TLC, etc. Which do you prefer? Which do you think has more variation? Which has played host to better matches?
  24. I smell a great topic about theme music brewing out of this. Was "Hot Stuff" a good choice for Eddie Gilbert in name only? Hmmmmm
