70's: Terry Funk vs. Jumbo Tsuruta (2/3 Falls, 6/11/76)
- I haven't really watched this since fleshing out my 70's viewing, but I dig it specifically because it is these two guys going at it for 30+ for the NWA title. We'd never get to see this side of Terry as the fighting champion and in certain US markets he had already invented the character which we know as the Funker and the rest is history.
80's: Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk (7/23/89)
- Again, this probably isn't an actual MOTD candidate, however this is what I often tell people is my favorite match of my favorite decade.
90's: Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin (11/17/96)
- Just watched this again as part of the Yearbook project and Wow. It's not a church service but it's holy footage. It's Terry and Jumbo in '76 with HEAT. I'm throwing it out there since it's fresh in my mind, but I gotta say Can-Ams vs. Kobashi and Kikuchi and 6/9/95 are right there.
00's:
- Wow, haven't really watched much since this decade ended. In a year or so when I get to PWO2k I'm hoping the Austin/Angle matches hold up.
10's: John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan (8/18/13)
- Huge fan of this when it aired and can't remember anything topping it. I'd probably put a Cena match here as I haven't done much shopping around outside of the WWE.
