  1. I didn't like the match itself as much as you did, but Hansen's murderous rage at the very idea of Ricky Morton was one of the best things on the set. The Korakuen crowd didn't quite get R&R's bit, and only really popped for Kroffat's hot moves. I feel cheated we never got a full-fledged Hansen/Morton feud in Crockett or WCW.
  2. This was remarkable - the first ten minutes or so was just destruction by Hansen. Tenryu's comeback was stirring, but this was as one-sided as I've seen a big match. Agreed that this feud has been great.
  3. A friend of mine has started a Royal Rumble pool. $10 per entry. Instructions are on this Google Doc. He doesn't post on PWO but he's on Twitter. I can vouch for his trustworthiness. (Mods, feel free to delete this post if this sort of thing is not allowed.)

Kinda sad seeing Lawler get that half-assed reaction in Memphis.

The main event was fine but that post-match brawl was great. I love it when the show feels out-of-control and unpredictable. They can't do it every week obviously but it's very effective when they do.

    WWE TV 1/16 - 1/22

Raw's opening segment ended with a really hot 2 minutes. Alas, the previous 10 were pretty bad.
  7. With Angle in the HOF, does he work WrestleMania? I can't imagine them allowing it, but Shane does need an opponent...
  8. As good as their earlier match in the month was, this was even better. Tenryu was giving almost as good as he got with his work on Hansen's the ribs, but that eye was nasty by the end of the match. I didn't mind the finish, two lariats are a pretty definitive win for Hansen, and I guess they didn't want to take the belts off Tenryu so soon.
  9. Hopefully they hold off on the wellness test before WrestleMania so we can get the Big Show-Shaq match in: (via Big Show's Twitter)
  10. Part of me wonders if they are waiting for Bilington to pass so they can induct the tag team, without Dynamite Kid going off the rails in an induction speech. From recent footage of him posted by his wife, he doesn't appear to be capable of travel much less a speech. Edit: Here it is.

  12. It was great, but when he gets serious he puts on that accent from his rap gimmick days and it throws me off a little. Show has been amazing so far, especially Maryse. Miz is a lucky man .
  13. Did this over WrestleMania weekend - dragged my friends out to a former roller rink in south Fort Worth. It was packed, and we had a great time, even if La Parka went out in an ambulance. Also had elotes for the first time!
  14. So the PTI-style debate show that was rumored a few months back is real. It's called "Bring It To The Table" and is debuting tonight and may god have mercy on our souls.
  15. What's the likelihood that Mick himself or one of his children gave him that haircut? 75%?
  16. I'd imagine when the Rams' new stadium in Inglewood they'll run it then. NOLA and Orlando are big enough tourist destinations that they will do fine despite returning to markets they've run recently.
  17. A very cursory wikipedia & google search says that the Pacific Wrestling Federation was a sanctioning body invented when All Japan started up in 1973. There's a few indies that have used a similar name, but in the All Japan context it seems to be just a fake sanctioning body for the titles.
  18. You're right, this is a great match. Loved the first part, as Hansen viciously goes after Jumbo's shoulder/arm - a mirror of how Jumbo went after Hansen in their previous two matches. And then it turns into a goddamn double juice brawl! Another thing about AJ in the 80s - the count out teases are great. An easy way to get a nearfall-ish pop from the crowd without overdoing big moves. As much as I like the concept of all clean finishes, it's a good way to mix things up.
  19. HHH v Sting (WWE WrestleMania 31 3/29/2015)
  20. I liked this better than their other match on this disc (04/19/1986), but it never really kicks into the next gear. Odd that these two never had a great match against each other.
  21. I didn't like this as much as their earlier match, but Clayton is right, that finish was great.
  22. This feud is rapidly becoming one of my favorites. The hate and intensity is off the charts. Choshu & Yatsu seem more over (at least going by chants), and Jumbo & Tenryu are definitely heeling it up, which seems strange given that Choshu & Yatsu are the ones "invading" AJPW.
  23. That would be awesome, but doesn't the Japanese TV network that aired All Japan (NTV?) own the rights to most/all of the library?
  24. I liked the beatdown after the match but man what a cheap finish.
  25. That was a nice beating, and hopefully it gives the division some life.
