I'd do away with the WWE IC and US belts. Then I'd create a WWE Network Championship that could only be defended on the WWE Network. The Champion would still wrestle on RAW and SD but in non-title matches. That WWE Network Champion would be Bryan.

If money is right they're all in-ring shape. Every aspect of a money match today is so canned that Andre The Giant could work Jolly The Green Giant.

Oh Christ. Sawyer didn't look 53 when he checked out.

MITB is cat shit. I can't believe they even run this gimmick. In reality it shows they're lazy. It's lazy booking.

Wrestler whom found footage would excite you the most

I'm in the same boat with Memphis Mark but in regards to Georgia. I watched Georgia TV (Squashy) in real time but never went to a show in Atlanta and still kick myself in the ass for not doing so. I'd like City Auditorium and Omni shows from 1975 thru 1984. I'd kill for this stuff. -
For my money Steamboat/Youngblood were the best babyface tag-team in JCP history.

Top-10 tag-team.
-
This would rank as one of the very top matches/programs/stories ever produced in pro wrestling. Just may be the best tag-team program of all-time. Then again this wasn't rare in the tag ranks of JCP in the 70's thru the mid 80's. For my money Steamboat/Youngblood were the best babyface tag-team in JCP history.

Introducing your Kids to Classic Wrestling

As a Great Uncle to an 8yr old my experience was tied in with UFC. My Nephew has been involved in Martial Arts for 3-1/2yrs. He likes watching UFC with us, Hell I liked watching Boxing growing up and sure as hell would've liked UFC. His Pops and I popped in the Starrcade 85 IQ match and the boy was glued to it even with no context. Now we know how violent it was so I guess it comes down to what limits ya put on what your youngster views. Anyway I think it tied in with UFC because of the cyclone fence. Since then he has watched the Dibiase/Duggan smorgi of stips match. Actually showed him this with the build. He's watched the Final Conflict. He's watched Lawler/Idol. He's watched the first two Wargames 87. He's likes all of them. Then again he's not much into WWE at all so it is what it is I guess. I guess if the child watches WWE and has his favorites then I would try to match those guys up as much as I could with guys in the past who they're similar to. -
Well man. He'd be ahead on my list. Of course it wouldn't be fair for me to make that statement and then not re-watch. Which I will do. I saw the guy though and he was great.

I don't know man. I have nothing wrong with folks expressing the opinions they have on the profession they chose but these Shoots just aren't for me. Seems like a lot of baby rattles is all. To each is own.

The Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton)
Wade Garrett replied to Grimmas's topic in Tag Teams
I prefer this version to the Stan Lane version. The Lane version was about flash with substance. This team was about grit with substance. They were heat machines. They also drew more money. Now I don't use money as a gauge when I grade all timers because it's to complicated and I'm to easy. But they (and Jim Cornette) set Mid South on fire, coulda heated up a stale World Class had they been given the chance, and were a big part of JCPs national package. Easy Top 10. -
Tremendous duo. I could find a spot for them on memory for the most part but need some re-watchin. As individuals they're all-timers. It's to bad that Stevens and Patterson don't have the footage from the 60's to make a go. They may be the best team I saw until I saw Gene and Ole Anderson. Then again maybe I was wearin rose colored glasses with Pat and Ray but I don't think so. My Elders thought the Sharpe Brothers were the best tag-team of all time.

Bock is a Top 10 lock for me. It would be very hard to bump him outta a position in my 10. Just to complete of a package and a guy who I really wish woulda been the go to NWA Champion from 77-82. Had it been up to me he picks the title up from Terry Funk in early 77. Then again I mighta given him the win over Jack Brisco and cancelled/delayed a Funk run. No knock on Funk cause he's in my bakers dozen at the very least. But Bock was Bock.
-
I agree Mr. Waco. I woulda loved to have seen Rose in JCP in the late 70's and early 80's where I coulda seen him live and in the mix with that roster at the time. He was a natural.
-
Maybe I'm biased because I cut my teeth on the territory but Ray Stevens should go in. It's the San Francisco Bay Area for Christ's sake. Let Patterson induct him. I guarantee it would get a SF Chronicle right up. Probably get mentioned in Sports Radio here and on Comcast Sports Channels. Wonder if they'd put a guy like Fatu in. He was born in SF. So were his sons who could induct him. Pretty big Samoan population here as well. Seems like the kinda guy who could get in by WWE HOF standards.

These are my Top 30 in order by date which I continue to add to as the years go by. Some end up being bumped but it's been very few. If I did a watch over the next month I could come up with a number #1. 04.21.80 Patera-Patterson 05.19.80 Patera-Backlund 01.10.81 Slaughter-Backlund 05.04.81 Slaughter-Patterson 06.06.81 Hansen-Backlund 05.21.84 Slaughter-Iron Sheik 06.16.84 Slaughter-Iron Sheik 12.28.84 Murdoch/Adonis-Brisco Bros 02.16.85 Murdoch-Windham 06.21.85 Steamboat-Valentine 07.06.85 Valentine-Santana 07.20.85 Steamboat-Orton Jr 04.22.86 Savage-Santana 07.26.86 Steamboat-Savage 08.09.86 Steamboat-Roberts 09.30.89 Valentine-Garvin 10.31.89 Anderson/Blanchard-Jannetty/Michaels 04.05.92 Flair-Savage 11.17.96 Austin-Hart 03.23.97 Austin-Hart 02.25.01 Austin-HHH 10.20.02 Lesnar-Taker 04.29.12 Lesnar-Cena 07.22.13 Bryan-Cesaro 08.18.13 Bryan-Cena 10.14.13 Rollins/Reigns-Rhodes Bros 02.23.14 Ambrose/Rollins/Reigns-Wyatt/Harper/Rowan 03.03.14 Ambrose/Rollins/Reigns-Wyatt/Harper/Rowan 04.07.14 Bryan-HHH 08.17.14 Lesnar-Cena

You read correctly. Half way through the decade and that's what I have. What have you got?
-
The 70's impacted me continuing to be a fan greatly. I was 11 at the beginning of the decade and finished it at 21. If it wasn't for the Super 70's I wouldn't of remained a fan more then likely because of the teen years I was approaching at the time. So I have very strong opinions on the best pro wrestlers of the 70's.
-
My Top 10 will come outta these 40. At least I'm pretty sure they will. Still have a ton of WOS to watch. Plus revisit other stuff. I don't know if there are guys I shouldn't included do to lack of footage. But man Johnny Valentine was a PRO WRESTLER. Johnny Valentine, Ray Stevens, Ric Flair, Nick Bockwinkel, Billy Robinson, Jack Brisco, Terry Funk, Harley Race, Buddy Rose, Dick Murdoch, Stan Hansen, Jerry Lawler, Pat Patterson. Ricky Steamboat, Wahoo McDaniel, Ernie Ladd, Ronnie Garvin, Barry Windham, Jumbo Tsuruta, Genichiro Tenryu, Randy Savage, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Bill Dundee, Steve Austin, Greg Valentine, Ted Dibiase, Ivan Koloff, Don Jardine, Bill Eadie, Jerry Blackwell, Mitsuharu Misawa, Toshiaki Kawada, Kenta Kobashi, Butch Reed, Sgt Slaughter, William Regal, Dave Finlay, Van Vader, Terry Gordy, Buzz Sawyer.

Greatest Upsets In Professional Wrestling?
Wade Garrett replied to Fantastic's topic in Pro Wrestling
For me it was watching Ricky Steamboat go over Ric Flair in June of 1977 at WRAL Studios in Raleigh, NC. Steamboat was a made man at that point. I didn't expect it. In reality it's gotta be Koloff beating Sammartino though. -
These would be my 10. I firmly stand by Lesnar-Cena 04.29.12 as #1. I'd have to review the other 9 though in order to create #1-#10. 04.29.12 Lesnar-Cena 07.22.13 Bryan-Cesaro 08.18.13 Bryan-Cena 10.14.13 Rollins/Reigns-Rhodes Brothers 02.23.14 Ambrose/Rollins/Reigns-Wyatt/Harper/Rowan 02.27.14 Cesaro-Zayn 03.03.14 Ambrose/Rollins/Reigns-Wyatt/Harper/Rowan 04.07.14 Bryan-HHH 04.08.14 Ambrose/Rollins/Reigns-Wyatt/Harper/Rowan 08.17.14 Lesnar-Cena

He is a sure thing as far as I'm concerned. The guy just gets how to be a pro wrestler. He's scrappy as hell.
-
I've never got the guy. Just don't see what the fuss was all about. I have a hard time suspending my disbelief with him. I also think he's overrated as a promo. His fists and kicks grade anywhere from a C to F. Him executing the GTS is incredibly unbelievable. Please don't get me started on his top rope elbow drop either. Just don't get it. Then again I don't get the A+ grades on a lot of new millennium pro wrestlers. Guess I'm old.
