Good matches tonight. Uso's and New Day was really good, finish doesn't even bother me because they are just getting started. Lana surprisingly had a good showing vs Naomi. Not bad at all, except the MITB finish.

A man decided the winner in the big Charlotte/Becky/Sasha Mania match too. But that was cheating to help Charlotte win, not winning the match for her. In that analogy, if Ric had gotten in the ring and put Becky in the figure four himself and won the match for Charlotte they would be the same. If Ellsworth had cheated to screw one of the other women out of winning the match but Carmella had been the one to climb the ladder and get the briefcase for herself I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it. The ending as stands is some TNA level BS. Did Vince give in and hire Russo?

The first Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match ever, and the winner has to have a man climb the ladder and win it for her. Amazing, and not in a good way.
-
Wow. If that ending stands, that is a slap in the face to the Smackdown women's division.

Looks like the show's go back and forth between the two. I had watched some of the episodes on Goc's channel but was hoping since it was on Amazon Prime there might be some new stuff or better video quality. No such luck.

Thanks. Have to check that out.

A great post! Although, I personally wouldn't add "authority figure abuses roster" because that has never truly been successful. Yes, of course Austin vs. McMahon was a smash hit, BUT that was one authority figure vs. one wrestler and could probably loosely fit in one of the other categories. While the Mr. McMahon character surely had other targets from time to time, it only worked because of the dynamic between him and Austin. It has not worked since, in any combination, and is now one of the stalest and laziest crutches around and has been run into the ground by every fed. Edit: Evil "Easy E" Bischoff also worked, to a lesser extent, but the nWo would have been perfectly fine without it too. The Authority vs Daniel Bryan I think only fits into that category too though.

What if, the WWF went with the original plans for WM4?
Flyin' Brian replied to JRH's topic in Armchair Booking
Zeus didn't come in until after WM5, so he would probably still show up, it would just be Dibiase that brings him in instead of Savage. The other domino that fell in the original timeline was that after Honky threatened to jump ship and was placated with keeping the IC title, Savage was mad and they gave him the HW title instead of DiBiase with Ted being a team player and going along with the change without much issue. -

Anybody got a bear wrestling comp? lol -
Sucks for Braun, and for us. I wish I had an explanation for all the injuries. In the 80's and early 90's I hardly ever remember a top guy being out for a big injury caused by wrestling. (Not counting things like Magnum T.A. accident, etc.) Sting in 90 is the only name that comes to mind.

They do have affiliates in NY and LA now they didn't have before, plus WGN is national on cable and satellite.
-
Sinclair just bought Tribune Media, giving them 42 more television stations in 33 markets along with WGN. Wonder how much this will affect ROH?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what the hell Great Balls Of Fire is supposed to be. 1. Balls Mahoney tribute? 2. Debut of a new wrestler called Fire and his/her "Great Balls"? 3. Revisiting the Kane/Shane McMahon feud where Kane electrocuted Shane's testicles? 4. The first ever 'Liar Liar Pants on Fire' match where you win by literally setting the other person's pants on fire? Or my personal favorite and what I'm really hoping for: 5. WWE's first step into the Broken Universe with Vanguard 1 shooting Roman Candles at WWE Superstars. -
King of the Road match WCW Uncensored 95

The only positive thing I can think of is they believe it gets sympathy heat for the babyface.

Really good match so far.
-
This is obviously a holding pattern B show PPV leading up to the next 'A' Raw PPV where Brock Lesnar returns to defend the Universal Title in the greatest event of all time Great Balls of Fire.

Capture the midget match 11/24/03 Raw

The beginning of the Road to Great Balls of Fire!

I just saw this. Sure, it gets people talking, but not in the way you would want if you're WWE. Unless it's the old 'any publicity is good publicity' thing, although that's been proven false in a lot of cases. Who thought this was a good idea?
-
The Bad Blood Raw PPV in July has been renamed to Great Balls of Fire. Seriously? Sigh.

Maybe he works cheap? And WWE might be one of the things actually showing growth for them, especially online where it looks like they want to put more focus. -
Schiavone and Cornette's blind spots as fans
Flyin' Brian replied to BigBadMick's topic in Pro Wrestling
I second this. I haven't listened for a while but I always enjoyed him suggesting a match of the week to watch that tied into the podcast or was topical in some way. -
I was hoping for an 'NWO ambulance attack on The Rock' moment when Roman finally was able to leave.
