  1. Saw El-P posting about being surprised at a great modern Aja Kong match so thought I'd put these two out there, vs. Chihiro Hashimoto from last year. Two of my favorite bouts of the year and best if viewed together. Not historical but well worth checking out. https://rutube.ru/video/fc370f0923472c1be4989900e2bc38d0/ https://rutube.ru/video/1420ed5760ec1d5512f82c4d0b3d1c5c/
  2. I hope she's into mesh shirts...
  3. Yes, the classic "Dylan compares Triple H to hundreds of wrestlers" posts from way back in the day!
  4. Holy shit, I must have blanked out that Eugene turn even happening. I just thought he faded away after he got his hair cut and his jacket permanently slimed.
  5. But nobody liked working in it, and it was obviously awkward at times for guys who were used to 4 sides. I know there's an argument for it being a novelty but honestly I don't think it was making a difference this late in the game for the fans. Plus the change allows them to give another point of visual separation from past eras, which fits with them trying to distance themselves in general from bad associations people may have.
  6. I've just discovered MJF this year and I already love him, so I'll have to make time to watch that documentary at some point.
  7. Really glad you mentioned that one. There are times I like Edge quite a bit but that turn was seriously, deeply painful on every level.
  8. They wrestled one on one in NXT way back when, and in an 8 man tag on Raw once.
  9. Speaking of guys betraying their country, Jim Duggan joining Team Canada was pretty damn stupid, as was him coming back to America shortly because why not?
  10. Goldberg turning back to a face was almost as bad, it's true, because he did it by giving a shooty shoot promo where he basically just said he didn't like playing a heel. Good god that was a dark time.
  11. This is the first one that came to mind. Not just turning heel against what everybody wanted to see, but doing so by hugging Russo and Bischoff and offering no discernible reason for his actions.
  12. Surely that's so "once in a blue moon" that it hardly matters though? Count me with those who still like Mauro. Despite his flaws, I enjoy his enthusiasm and think it's genuine (albeit exaggerated).
  13. I love the moment at Wrestlewar '91 when Hansen and Vader are killing each other about 6 inches from the commentary table. Jim Ross sounds legitimately afraid for his life but Dusty is practically bouncing up and down with glee to be back in the thick of things.
  14. I thought it was a Jeff/Orton PPV main event that supposedly popped a surprisingly high buyrate in that time?
  15. It's been a long time since i watched these guys. Have they produced anything good in the past few years? I really liked Hechicero & Virus vs. Black Terry & Negro Navarro from last year, and the singles match Navarro had with Sabre too, though I think that one had mixed reviews from others.
  16. I really enjoyed the original Bully Ray run, but that was what, 5 years ago? More? And in another company to boot.
  17. The only time I see Eddie overrated is when I see claims that he was an all time great all through the 90s and early 00s, when in reality he had plenty of periods of just being good with flashes of greatness.
  18. Giant Baba looks like a damn alien from another world. Ruggedly handsome? I love Orndorff but that might be a stretch.
  19. Having basically nothing of value in 2012-14 hurts his case (correct me if I'm wrong, anyone) but if he continues having high quality bouts for the next two years then I could see him in the conversation.
  20. He would for underrated but I don't think it's possible to overrate him. Watch this: In the 00s, he was still better than 3/4ths of the WWE roster!
  21. Glad to know I'm not alone in being baffled by this. I assume if it was known by he had done something really bad he wouldn't be getting bookings like EVOLVE, but then what's with severing ties so suddenly and completely?
  22. Io Shirai is an awesome call. This could be recency bias, but is there a case for WALTER? I know his most pimped stuff has come in the last few years but he's been quietly working top matches in Europe since the beginning of the decade. I have a feeling a deep dive could reveal a lot more great stuff for him. I also think, if he continues on his current path, the next two years will make an even stronger case.
  23. I may as well ask here. Does anyone have any clue/insight about wXw suddenly dropping John Klinger last month? He was killing it over 16 Carat weekend and he's been with them for ages, then suddenly he's gone without further comment, even though he was a tag title holder.
  24. Holy shit, Tommy Rich looks terrifying. Like someone did a really bad job making a muppet version of Barry Windham.
  25. Christ, if all the photographer wanted was credit, that's an awful response.
