Man, that last montage was a thing of beauty. I'm going to be crushed if Season 4 doesn't come through.

Had a thought, if Jinder holds the belt til 'Mania (I know, I know), what if Braun wins the Rumble and defects to Smackdown to murder him to death? It'd be a hell of a face turn and way to put a big spotlight on Braun.

Kento matches have gotten a little samey to me, so right now I prefer Ishikawa. He feels fresher at the moment, though that could change as I watch more.

Where are you to watch All Japan? I used to follow account on dailymotion from non New Japan stuff but it doesnt upload new matches anymore. I usually just google whatever specific match I'm looking for and get the results I need, often from Rutube.

Watched Ishikawa's Triple Crown reign highlights recently and loved him. Dude is killing it right now. He was a big standout in BJW last year too.

Jesus christ, I am excited for this match. I seriously think it might steal the show, even in the face of the Hell of War match.

Separate But Equal?: The ultimate goal of Feminism in wrestling
Mrzfn replied to Luchaundead's topic in Pro Wrestling
Not sure if you're there yet in LU, but the way they work the mixed tag match that comes out of that is excellent. -
I believe the final week is still supposed to be 2 hours. It does make me wonder if they will go really long with Puma/Mundo, and maybe do some chicanery with the GOTG title too. I'm assuming Pentagon will win it the week before the last episode and possibly get involved with the champion.

He actually came into WCW as a face at the end of '93 and stayed that way until '95 (I think).

So the question for me is, who joins Famous B as his surprise partner? Because there's no way Dario billed this as a "handicap" match just as a pun on Famous B's injury. Dr Wagner has been nowhere in sight for ages so I'm guessing it's not him. Joey Ryan or Son of Madness are possible, though they don't seem to fit quite right. Could be someone new, not sure who though. Also gotta figure something gets added for the trios titles. With 4 nights this year, there should be time for it to be added somewhere, though it seems strange that it's not been planned farther in advance.

Damn, I'm all about wrestlers making time for family but that's like the Undertaker working No Way Out and skipping Wrestlemania.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if they dedicated the whole episode to it, but honestly I'm ok with that. I wonder if Rey will be back to do something. Seems too strange for him to be completely missing.

Very true, not to mention the countless security guys who have no doubt been maimed over the years. Who weeps for the rent-a-cop?

That is a nice statement by Jericho. It's a shame they didn't know each other better, because Heenan clearly gets very excited about Jericho int he booth from '98 on, which makes sense because a lot of Jericho's heel run was right out of the Heenan playbook.

Just watched NWA/TNA #7 (I know, I know...) and not one but two examples. First Ron Killings angrily calls one of the cage dancers a whore and starts advancing on her while undoing his pants before he gets distracted by Monty Brown. It was quick but I'm not sure what other implication there is besides attempted rape. Nobody is overly upset about it and Ricky Steamboat gives him a world title shot about 5 minutes later. On the same show, Goldilocks refuses to show her breasts and slaps Disco, so he starts violently choking her and calling her a slut. The crowd booed Goldi, by the way, when she said women have better things to do to show their breasts. The talking point as the segment ends is Paulina from Tough Enough making an appearance, not any of that other stuff. Why did I agree to watch this early TNA stuff again?

Curt Hawkins as a modern day Mario Mancini isn't the worst thing in the world.

I watched that recently and was shocked by that spot, that would have been dangerous for anyone to do, let alone someone with neck issues. But there wasn't anything he wouldn't do to get an angle over.

Holy crap, that's an insane story. Thank you for sharing. Also, THANK YOU to Loss for keeping this thread on track.

Well, there's still time in the season. I'm hoping for a second WMD match with Fox and Killshot, which could really tear the house down, and Crane's still up in Mil's business. Seems like it'll be Cage/Mil/Crane at UL3 and then, assuming we get that 4th season (please), I can foresee a crazy Grave Consequences with Crane and Muertes. With Puma and Vamp, I'm wondering if Pentagon will win the GOTG title to put him and Puma in direct conflict... again, assuming 4th season, and realizing Ricochet's desire to depart may derail that. But the LU storytellers have rarely let us down, which is arguably the most amazing thing about the promotion.

I absolutely loved the big roster brawl from that episode, especially since basically everyone came out for a specific reason instead of just making up the numbers. WWU and Puma have their issue, and Sexy Star and Mack have their own beef with Mundo, Muertes has his issue with Cage but the Crane thing was still active also, Marty's attracted to violence but Fenix showed up to give him hell, the Rabbit Tribe just chilling, Fox trying to get a good vantage point only to be ambushed by Killshot, and on and on... great stuff, character and continuity is my favorite.

The greatest performer in wrestling history. This one really hits me hard, even though he had been in bad shape for a while. I believe Monsoon was on the other side of the pearly gates waiting but still, it sucks for those of us left behind.

Gimmick Match of the Month: The Lumberjack Match (September 2017)
Mrzfn replied to peachchaos's topic in Pro Wrestling
Favorite one that I've seen recently is Heenan & Orndorff vs. Bruno & David Sammartino, from the 3/17/85 WWF show in Philadelphia. It's more about the fun than the action but that might be the best thing for the lumberjack gimmick. -
This may be weirdly specific but I enjoyed Jeff Hardy in the first half of 2016. Before his stuff with Matt transformed into the goofy Deletion stuff, he was for some reason having some of his best performances in memory. Then the Broken stuff took hold and that was fun too, albeit in a totally different way.

Ditto on those who dig the vibe of the show. Fired up for the 100th episode, it looks really good on paper.

[1999-03-14-WCW-Uncensored] Kevin Nash vs Rey Misterio Jr
Mrzfn replied to Loss's topic in March 1999
Pretty sure Nash was head booker at this point, so you'd have to divide the blame between Nash and... also Nash.- 6 replies
