From what I remember the only thing that struck me as downright horrible was the boxing match. Nothing could save that one...
-
Even prior to that I actually enjoy Savage vs. Steele pretty well. Some big stinkers but some good stuff too.
-
I'm guessing the idea is to sell fans outside the bubble on the idea first and use it for PPV later? That or they care more about their TV deal than about their PPV buys.
-
I'm indifferent towards Cedric but one advantage he would have is that he was considered a very hot prospect at one time. Wasn't he the one that Triple H came out personally to sign after his Cruiserweight Classic match?
-
Hopefully they'll still mention it, at least. Very much looking forward to this but it would have been nice to at least give us a little something on the last Dynamite to put these two groups back into contention again. I remember at one point it felt inevitable that this match would happen but Cody/MJF, Mox/Jericho, and Elite vs. Elite is very much at the forefront right now. Thought I suppose that last story could easily play into the match...

Regarding Okada vs. Misawa, or era vs. era, I'm sure I couldn't say which is "better". But I know personally I'd much rather be watching 90s All Japan, because I overwhelming prefer that style.
-
The Penta vs. Fenix this is weird to me. I massively preferred Penta in Lucha Underground but in AEW Fenix seems obviously better. I'm guessing that's because Penta's appeal came out of character, charisma, and great presentation, while the tag division in AEW is pretty much 100% focused on in ring athletics, where Fenix runs circles around Penta. It also seems like Penta is now happy to be much less exciting version of his brother, which is really too bad because I think he has way more to offer in a different way. Basically I hope they split up as soon as possible and both get a chance to get pushed on the things they're good at.

Man, if it's the same one I'm thinking of I LOVED that match, like one of my favorite things from 2018.
-
Ah, this is why I love PWO. Thanks all, keep adding on if more ideas occur!
-
Great suggestions, thanks... anyone else has under-the-radar Austin gold, feel free to add!

Putting together a Steve Austin playlist for my casual fan brother. Any under the radar must see stuff I might not know? Not an expert on the Attitude Era in particular but obviously want to grab some of the top stuff.
-
I kept him on my radar for a long time because he does have some interesting thoughts and insights, but especially lately he seems overwhelmed by the need to scream at anyone who likes something he doesn't like. Had to mute him on twitter because the negative barrage just seemed to become nonstop.

I thought Aron Stevens was a joy to watch, from the crowd interaction to the unbearably awful attire to the picture perfect old school showing-ass heel put over job he did for Starks.
-
I drifted away from MLW awhile ago but the news that they hired Chris DeJoseph will probably get me to at least give them a fresh look.
-
Yeah, seems like a supplemental thing to build up characters and angles in small ways. I'm a Darby fan in general but it's much easier to buy him in a #1 contenders match if we just saw him take down CIMA one on one.
-
Leva Bates has her flaws, but personally I'd still rather watch her than Britt Baker because at least I can enjoy whatever gimmick/character thing she's doing. I just get nothing out of watching Baker.
-
Been getting around to this, haven't watched the main yet but I'm liking the aesthetic and the format quite a bit. But was anyone else turned off by the James Storm/Jocephus bit? Jocephus ended up looking like an absolute joke, I can't imagine how they could ever present him in a remotely threatening way again. The weird baby thumb sucking thing was particularly cringey to me, and all for the sake of getting over a pretty past his prime James Storm. I know he can still bark his promos with energy but I can't say I'm too excited to see more of him as a wrestler. Maybe it's just me?
-
Really enjoyed both episodes of Dynamite so far. My only real complaint is that I don't really get the push of Britt Baker and Bea Priestley... feels like they have several non-joshi women with a lot more potential. Maybe it's just me but I feel like the crowd is particularly meh towards Baker. A dentist with a tooth based submission feels pretty cheesy as well.

It's also entirely possible Jericho just sometimes says stuff on his own. I seem to recall when he made the sparkly jacket WWE return he kept saying the world would end as we know it at the Rumble that year, but nothing happened and he didn't even win it. I'm fine with it being LAX, though I agree it would have been better to hold off their All Out appearance if possible (or maybe have them show up flanking Jericho for the main event?). I live in the US but I don't have cable, so I signed up for Sling TV which is supposed to be able to show TNT in realtime so I can still watch. Hoping it works right, never used it before. AEW needs an online option, I'd gladly pick up the $5 a month option to watch online like some other parts of the world can.

Victoria benefited early on from a good character that she played very well in her early WWE career as well. I do like Victoria but I also think she peaked early in her career, in the 02-03 range.

WWF TV Shows 1970s to early 1990s (pre-Raw)

Loving this thread, great stuff. -
Imagine, feeling like you're in the circus when you're really part of a carnival wrestling show!

Stupid things non-wrestling fans say to you
Mrzfn replied to Cross Face Chicken Wing's topic in Pro Wrestling
I think it was that plus the idea that anything in wrestling could be "real" was really inconceivable to him. He basically assumed I had been worked, and no amount of explanation could convince him otherwise! -

I once explained the Montreal Screwjob to my Dad and I'm pretty sure he thought I had brain damage when I tried to explain the "real" aspects of it. -
Really excited for this!!
