Yeah, I read some of those early Lutte bookings on the Project when I first stepped in. IIRC, the roster was a bit thin but you did a decent job with it for someone who didn't have a lot of knowledge about it.

For the record, I was totally pulling for Danger Zone.

Wrestlemania cannot come fast enough!

People probably won't like the review I give since I really dislike modern NJPW, but I'm looking forward to it. In return, Edger of the Sirs, I give you Hayabusa vs. Masato Tanaka, FMW ZEN 3/13/98 https://youtu.be/aIy7KROtQeo Finally got the chance to watch the match Laz sent to me last week. First of all, it felt so unusual for me to watch both Hayabusa and Masato Tanaka outside of a deathmatch environment. Even more seeing Tanaka sell his opponent's head drops and such. I liked seeing both guys coming to the ring from different sides of the arena. As I expected, both men starting off quickly with that dropkicks sequence and that Hayabus Asai Moonsault. Like I said, it felt weird to see Tanaka sell Hayabusa's Dragon Suplexes throughout the match when I virtually had never seen Tanaka do it when I saw him in ECW but that's a nice change. Things slowed down a bit in the middle but the pace picked up shortly afterwards in what I thought was a very enjoyable. I thought that Tanaka's end would come from an eventual accumulation of Dragon Suplexes but turns out it's a Falcon Arrow doing the trick. That match allowed me to appreciate the agility of a big man like Hayabusa was. Overall, pretty fun match. I'd give it *** 1/4 stars

I guess this totally makes sense given that Smackdown Live will now theoretically find themselves without authority figures. So, Hogan stepping in as commissionner or General Manager isn't far-fetched. But I'd be damned if they won't try to have Hogan team with Braun against The Bar at Wrestlemania, just for the pop Hogan & Braun would get. I'd like to think that if WWE wants to cement Braun as a top babyface on RAW, that'd do the trick.

NWA Lutte Internationale TV March 22nd, 1986 Peerless Lake, AB Quick and dirty results, due to time constraints for me this week: -In the opening match, Hillbilly Jim beat King Tonga by reverse decision after Tonga refused to let go of the Tongan Death Grip that led to his victory by submission in 14:56. Not even Frenchy Martin could stop him and eventually, Jim had to be stretchered out of the building. The broadcast team wonders what could go inside Tonga's head and how this could make this an even more dangerous man going forward -In an interview at the broadcast booth, Floyd Creatchman came out alone to the booth, without his men, to announce that his father Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman would take an indefinite leave of absence from Lutte Internationale because of health issues and he'll take over the managerial duties of The Creatchman Family going forward. Floyd was then interrupted by Paul E. Dangerously, along with Adrian Adonis and The Nasty Boys. Paul E tells Floyd that he sends his father Eddy his best wishes for a speedy recovery. Paul E also offers Floyd a partnership to make them the most Dangerous Alliance in Lutte Internationale. Floyd isn't sure but Paul E sends him away with the Nasty Boys, who will have some very persuasive arguments to help him consider his offer. In the meantime, Paul E addresses the incidents of last week in Thunder Bay when Matt Borne confronted Adrian Adonis during their match. Paul E says he doesn't know what Borne's problem is but there's a reason why Adonis didn't pick him as a partner; because he wasn't man enough to be the equal of the TV champion. That brought "Maniac" Matt Borne to the broadcast booth. Borne asks Paul E why he'd say something like that. Paul E mocks Borne by saying he just proved his point right away as he notices the handbag that he carried with him on the set. Borne wants to hang around with the tough men when he carries himself and dresses himself like a hobo. Paul E says that Borne will never be man enough to beat Adrian Adonis for the title. Borne has had enough and punches Paul E! Adonis and Borne gets into a fistfight and Borne knocked Adonis' head on the booth. Borne then reached in the handbag and started smearing Adonis' face with makeup and lipstick! Borne screams in the process "AM I MAN ENOUGH NOW? AM I MAN ENOUGH?" until the Nasty Boys return and chase away Borne. Paul E comes to and watches into horror as he sees Adonis' face smeared with makeup. Adonis realizes what just happened and grabs Édouard Carpentier's mic. Adonis says that he's gonna teach a lesson to Matt Borne. He challenges him to a match next Sunday night, March 30 at the Montreal Forum where he'll put the TV title on the line! Adonis promises that Matt Borne will never the same again after this match! -Gilles "The Fish" Poisson beat "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka in 13:47 with a backbreaker. After the match, Poisson gets to the broadcast booth and says that he can beat anybody in the NWA and he's gonna prove it. In 2 weeks, Poisson will throw an open challenge to anyone in the NWA to face him on NWA Lutte TV in Tobermory, ON. Poisson vows that he won't be ignored! -In the main event, "The Texas Dream" Dirty Rhodes (w/Percival Pringle III) beat NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champion Butcher Vachon in 13:18. After the match, Rhodes & Pringle keep beating on Butcher, knowing that his brother Mad Dog isn't here this week. Luckily for Butcher, "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal runs in and makes the save. Regal challenges The Pringle Dynasty to a tag match tomorrow night at the Hemlock Valley Resort! Pringle tells Regal that he doesn't have a partner but Regal only tells Pringle "Never judge a book by its cover" as the show goes off the air. Who will be Regal's tag team partner tomorrow night vs The Pringle Dynasty? À LA SEMAINE PROCHAINE SI DIEU LE VEUT!

CFL still only allows 20 American guys per team to begin with, they'll fill those spots with guys that are already happy there or want another opportunity like Johnny Manziel. The XFL and AAF will give undrafted college guys and guys in all the indoor leagues that are everywhere now a chance to play outdoors again though and for more money. My co-worker played at Iowa State and then four years indoor here locally, but he just went over to Hungary to play (they are allowed only two American players per team in that league) so it's an awesome opportunity for guys like him to keep pursuing their dream without having to travel that far away. He had a tryout in CFL a month ago himself, so that may still work out for him. The orginal XFL and the UFL both had plenty of former NFL players and college stars, but neither had any real impact on the CFL. We could argue that many players coming from the NFL to the CFL underestimate the league's level and how different it is with their rules (wider field, 3-down football instead of 4-down football, etc). I can just look at my local team, the Montreal Alouettes who tried to bring in so many former NFLers recently: Chad Johnson, Ahman Green, Jerry Porter - now Josh Freeman is supposed to be their starting QB under former Packers coach Mike Sherman. None of them lasted in the league.

So, if I'm reading between the lines of this article. Dr. Davies might suggest that WWE only cleared Bryan to wrestle again to make sure that he wouldn't do the same elsewhere when his contract is scheduled to expire in September. And given that Joseph Maroon pretty much was the only doctor who refused to clear Bryan until this week, what is Dr. Davies' gripe with him? Especially considering the backlash that WWE could suffer if something serious happens again to Bryan? They've been so hellbent on keeping Bryan away from the ring in the past 2 years to avoid that; why would they do something stupid if Bryan still wasn't apt to perform?

Dude, please, use the space bar. Barely can't read anything.

Ray Candy = Kareem Muhammad so at least, that's one half of the Zambuie Express. I don't know who worked the Elijah Akeem gimmick.

March 21st, 1986 Weyburn, SK Submission Match: Gino Brito beat Assassin #1 with a figure-four leglock NWA Canadian International TV Championship: Adrian Adonis (w/Paul E. Dangerously & Nasty Boys) beat NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champion Butcher Vachon to retain -The Pringle Dynasty (NWA North American Champion Big John Studd & "The Texas Dream" Dirty Rhodes, w/Percival Pringle III) beat Richard Charland & King Tonga (w/Frenchy Martin) in 16:52

Time limit draws can always be useful to build up frustration and tension. Job well done again!

Nah, that's gonna be just fine. Gonna be real different than what I'm used to watch lol

Tonight was the first time I've ever been so happy to see someone take an apron bump.

I don't know if I'm more excited by Lafon vs Adams or Zenk vs Mando!!! Those must've been awesome matches.
-
I'm thinking that they won't try to wait too long for Bryan vs Miz. I could easily see this as a feature match at Summerslam this year if everything goes well.
-
Personally, I'm thrilled for him. Some people might be against it due to his concussion history but this is what he wants to do and I wish him the best of success in his return.
-
It feels so weird to me though not seeing Phil LaFon & Doug Furnas teaming together. I've been so used to this pairing. Still, I think that LaFon & Zenk is a good pairing in itself.

Alright, for you HeadCheese, let's go with Keiji Muto vs Shiro Koshinaka from NJPW Battle Final, 12/11/95 http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5if2xk

I think the thing I love the most about UWF is that everyone is clearly choosing a side and forming alliances and partnerships. Sometimes out of necessity. It's chaotic but it absolutely works for the best!

I wouldn't have expected anything else from Big Dust's farewell AWA match!

I got the feeling that Brian Pillman will break out on his own sooner rather than later.

The return of Blackjack Mulligan to Mid-Atlantic is no good news for anyone. He's gonna be a serious threat to every babyface in the NWA!
