  1. Thankfully, it was at the end of the show. My favorite line was "Chris Hero in developmental was like putting a college student in 5th grade"
  2. Yeah, that is more where I am at. If I see jdw is the last post, I expect the word "bitch" to be used half the time.
  3. Jerry Lawler
  4. Hahaha... I didn't even know there was a free version. Well shit.
  5. I don't have HULU.
  6. What do you see?
  7. I think they were looking at the confines of the NWA territories. Was Memphis even a card carrying member of the NWA?
  8. I brought up MITB and Summerslam 11. Fell short on the before and after.
  9. I just read this thread now and Lawler was the first name that jumped out at me in a "What If" scenario. IF Memphis would have been a card-carrying NWA territory the same way St. Louis was and not perceived as the "cartoon" show (which is complete bullshit) then Lawler would be the #1 choice. First off, he has demonstrated later he could play both a face and heel at the same time for different sets of fans. He heels it up on tour, comes back home to Memphis as the hometown hero. If being a heel who can bump and stooge for his opponents is mandatory, Lawler was the best at it. He was an unbelievable promo so I don't doubt he could get over in any town you push him in. Lawler is by far the most intriguing candidate. Hell, I can see Lawler going to Portland as a face champ to battle the evil Buddy rose. I can see him going to Mid South and squaring off against Duggan or JYD or Dibiase in whatever role you want him to play.
  10. Interesting. on the podcast, I mentioned infomercials and they squashed that right off the bat if it was going to be a premium channel. The model I argued for was VH1.
  11. I did a round table with the placetobe guys last night and the question came up... what are the best three consecutive PPVs a company has put out? I think Justin had it right when he brought up the following three PPVs from WCW 1992. However, if someone wants to argue for three other PPVs, I would be willing to listen. Superbrawl II - The Mecca; Milwaukee, WI 2/29/1992 - Light Heavyweight Title: Brian Pillman beat Jushin Liger to win the title - Marcus Alexander Bagwell beat Terry Taylor - Ron Simmons beat Cactus Jack - Van Hammer & Tom Zenk beat Vinnie Vegas & Ricky Morton - Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes beat Steve Austin & Larry Zbyzsko - WCW Tag Team Title: Champs Bobby Eaton & Arn Anderson beat The Steiners by DQ - US Title: Champ Rick Rude beat Ricky Steamboat - WCW World Title: Sting beat Lex Luger to win the title Wrestle War 1992 - Jacksonvile Coliseum; Jacksonville, FL 5/17/1992 - US Tag Team Titles: The Freebirds beat Terry Taylor & Greg Valentine to win the belts - Johnny B Badd beat Tracey Smothers - Scotty Flamingo beat Marcus Alexander Bagwell - Ron Simmons beat Mr. Hughes - The Super Invader beat Todd Champion - Big Josh beat Ricky Morton - Light Heavyweight Title: Champ Brian Pillman beat Tom Zenk - WCW Tag Team Titles: Champs The Steiners beat Tatsumi Fujinami & Takayuki Iizuka - War Games: Sting, Ricky Steamboat, Dustin Rhodes, Barry Windham & Nikita Koloff beat Steve Austin, Rick Rude, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton, & Larry Zbyzsko Beach Blast 1992 - Civic Center; Mobile, AL 6/20/1992 - Light Heavyweight Title: Scotty Flamingo beat Brian Pillman to win the title - Ron Simmons beat Terry Taylor - Falls Count Anywhere for WCW Title: Sting beat Cactus Jack - Greg Valentine beat Marcus Alexander Bagwell - 30 minute Iron Man Challenge: Ricky Steamboat beat Rick Rude 4-3 - Dustin Rhodes, Nikita Koloff & Barry Windham beat Steve Austin, Bobby Eaton , & Arn Anderson by DQ - WCW Tag Team Titles: Champs The Steiners fought Terry Gordy & Steve Williams to a draw
  12. I just have to comment... why would you keep Fake Razor and Fake Diesel in your fantasy world?
  13. Ikea shelf In terms of organizing matches, I just ask KrisZ or Loss. They are my official organizers. "Hey, what show is this match on?" "Yo Kris, do you have the dates for the following matches?"
  14. I don't know you guys personally

  16. You wouldn't have to drop $900 on them. Also, I give specials for multiple sets and have 1sold parts 1 and 2 for each yearbook for those short on cash.

  18. Everyone I know hates that match. Interesting.
  19. I think that is one of the questions... Do you just recycle the material or do you create new TV specific docs?
  20. Jimmy Garvin was pretty good in Texas. Once he left Texas he went downhill but I think Sid is more appropriate.

Chief, create a thread on who you think should be purged. Could be fun. Also, on the latest Observer show, Alvarez is under the impression that they are saving the Swing on Cena for a matchup down the road but Dave feels he hasn't done it because Cena is hurt. I think Cena vs. Claudio would be awesome.
  22. http://placetobenation.com/good-will-wrest...wwe-tv-network/ On the latest podcast, we looked at the WWE Network. I asked the question... What would your weekly programming schedule look like? Do you load it up with classic shows? Do you release entire "seasons" of the old territories? Do you cut up the shows and show individual matches? Do you go strong with reality based programming and create additional wrestling shows exclusive to the network? If you were the program director for the new network, what is going to be shown on your channel?
  23. Here's the thing: I didn't watch any of those guys in the 1970s. I didn't start watching pro wrestling until 1986 when I was 20 years old. By Dave's logic, a lot of us would be limited in what we could vote on. Dave himself would be limited as well: guys like Snyder were well past their peak when he started watching, as was Torres. John John, I was just picking on you for being old. My point stillstands but I had no idea you didn't start watching until 1986. You are simply unqualified to vote since I started watching in 1980 and Tony Atlas was fucking OVER in 1980. You wouldn't know because you weren't there man.

    Who are the Matadors?
  25. Heh, I didn't want anyone tothink I was just picking on the Brits but there is no way a Canadian or a Brit without tape footage could possibly evaluate the quality of work of any of the territory candidates, Canadian territories exempt for you of course.
