WWE TV 10/15/18 - 10/21/18: Fear, Loathing, and PRACTICE!!
Johnny Sorrow replied to fakeplastictrees's topic in WWE
I agree 100 percent. Fuck that guy. I'm willing to deal with beliefs and stances that are abhorrent from great performers, like Dick Murdoch or early Woody Allen, but Warrior? Who cares what they do with his dumb name, whatever they do will be better than anything he did with it. He stunk. -
I like their programming more than most around here, and I'm at the first point where I'm actually upset about something wrestling related. And by related, I mean it's a side effect of what Im really angry about. My country and the Saudis have always had a fucked relationship that makes me furious. But with the Mango Mussolini in charge, it's way, way worse. Im not cancelling the network, most of the PPVs are gatherings of friends that I'm not going to give up, although there's going to be more yelling at the tv than ever before. And I'm not going to give up the podcasts I do with my friends based on the classic content. And I know I'm being hypocritical, and it's fucking eating at me worse than any other crazy, weird, criminal, bullshit that's gone on in this business, and not just Vince shit. That podcast is about World Class. I'll never be clean.

They just dropped the entire Last Battle Of Atlanta card. It totally feels like " Hey, give Johnny Sorrow types something to distract them from this Saudi Arabia fucking debacle ."
-
That's so weird given his stances on most everything else.

Nash surprises me. He's one of the few liberal voices on wrestling Twitter, and not at all a fan of orange 45. Here's his exact quote. "9-11 was conducted by 15 of the 19 attackers who were Saudi's, our response was to attack Afghanistan and Iraq. Now a hit squad is responsible for the death of a Saudi Journalist. Should we hit Yemen and Iran. We'll never know the truth. Let's push Saudi Arabia to progress." So he's calling out the Saudis, but is the "push them to progress" line actually referring to the event?

Oh, that's apples and oranges. Talent rightfully calling out some of Dave Meltzer's inappropriate comments is completely different than commenting on something like this, that has garnered the attention of Congress.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
Johnny Sorrow replied to Lust Hogan's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I loved the Rikishi show. The explanation of how the Rikishi runs over Austin angle actually happened was great. -
To suffice. "I'm not gonna watch but yes I am. By the way TNA/ Japan"

I enjoy the state of the company stuff on the individual cards shows more than the card reviews, for the most part. -

I don't mind the long ones, cause I listen to those during my work day driving from stop to stop. They're especially good for those days when there's long stretches of driving between stops. -
Neilson ratings have always been flawed at best, and in 2018, they're really not all that relevant. The big four networks still look at them a bit, CBS loves to brag about its ratings for shows only old white people watch. But it's a new age, with vast amounts of ways to watch content of any sort.

The importance of self promotion in the modern era
Johnny Sorrow replied to GOTNW's topic in Pro Wrestling
Oh, yeah. I've never seen a Janella match and couldn't pick him out of a lineup but I know who he is and how successfully he's prompted himself and his brand. -

If cocaine was a post. And yeah, to answer the self promotion deal, the Bucks are the prime example. They're amazing and should be an example for anyone doing anything in any endeavor. -
WWE TV 09/24 - 09/30 Is Palmeiras the greatest soccer team on Earth?
Johnny Sorrow replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Sure. But as far as pro wrestling goes, it also really must be easier to train your sister-in law than your wife. -
Drove me nuts. Dunne and Ricochet were having an amazing match, but those chants were unbearable. The only voices reacting to the action were female while all the dudes were just fucking double chanting.

I haven't gotten around to watching RAW, so that means I probably won't, but SmackDown was fucking great. AJ vs Almas was outstanding. I read somewhere that Vince is high on Almas and Vega, and that performance must have helped seal the deal.

I dig Reigns because he's a fucking awesome wrestler, he carries himself like a star, and he clearly is going to work and earn respect from fans and is already a locker room leader. The boos from a section of grown men doin what they do are starting to get matched by the cheers of kids, women, and guys who realize his matches are consistently good to great. This idea of "Who's next?" is a fun little excursion into the idea that it isn't Reigns, but it is gonna be Reigns unless a Stone Cold pops up outta nowhere. And Braun was never it. Has some of the booking been awful? Yup. But it feels like it's turning around, and it's really irrelevant to me honest. I'm not a fan of booking the main event of a HITC for a Saudi Arabia shows that I ain't gonna watch but that's another rant. So to sum up, Roman Reigns is fucking great, and if you can't see that, well.... maybe you need a different TV Show to watch. There's a lot of fucking content out there now as far as entertainment goes, be it wrestling, TV, Movies, Podcasts, or whatever. Shot, there's so much WWE content now, you can pick what you want to watch. There's no excuse to watch something you don't enjoy . Especially in 2018. Oh, and Reigns is great, like I said, gets huge pops, and sells a shit ton of merch.:) I buried the lead.

Then don't . I used to watch The Simpsons religiously for years. When I stopped liking it I stopped watching it, and told no one.
-
I loved this show. It's funny that it was the Hell in a Cell show, and my favorite matches weren't the HITC matches, but there ya go.
-
That was the best Pre Show match I've seen in awhile.
-
Wait, what? How the fuck would you know how it's gonna look before we see how it looks on tv, and what the fuck died it have to do with the Punjabi match?

And its a live interview from a Mexican prison!
