Wait, what? It's 7:30pm in Philly. France is not so many hours ahead, is it? Are you in Australia?

I like all 3 of these guys, but I am not into this match at all. @El-P - Nous te réveillerons when it ends. Or maybe you can wake us.

I was just yesterday watching baby!AJ getting yelled at by Jerry Lynn on an early TNA weekly PPV. He's come a long way.

It wouldn't be any fun if we all liked exactly the same people. This isn't WrestlingKO in 2010, after all. Yeah, Ric was a rambling fool. I liked it, but I suspect Vince and Haitch were on the verge of crapping their pants.

I don't know anyone who can kill my crowd-of-one like Rawley. Even Orton or Mahal, I am willing to give a chance. But Mojo Rawley? Vince, stop trying to make Mojo Rawley happen!

Twitter is convinced Madusa is drunk. Didn't I read she had surgery recently? Maybe she's on pills.

I haven't seen NXT since Mania last year, and I had no trouble following the gist of the Gargano storyline. Did I miss some nuance, since last time I saw these guys Johnny was in a white hot tag match and Almas was a nobody? Sure. But I was able to follow the emotions and the basic heel/face structure. For once, WWE's constant spoonfeeding and repetition helped me. And even without it, I feel I could have sorted it out. It's nice to have classic good guys and bad guys -- that's the kind of theatre that got me into rasslin as an adult. In that case, the kewl moovez are just icing.

I agree with others that the armbar spot lasted way too long. I have been armbar'd. Once that shit gets locked in, you're tapping in seconds - not minutes. They need to shorten it and teach the opponent better techniques for fighting it off. (not once did I see Moon try to drive her elbow to the ground, for instance) Also, Shayna has been practicing armbar holds since her very first week of jujitsu, probably, so she's going to have to work on fighting the years of muscle memory. She needs to not lock it in so quickly. Minor enough quibble. I enjoy her character and look very much, and she's come a long way in a short time. Great potential. I am hoping Ronda doesn't overshadow her.

I love the way the big MOOVEZ actually had a purpose, instead of just trying to pop the crowd. It felt like All Japan in the 90's, where both guys were determined to beat down and destroy the other guy. The fact that a bunch of their moves missed fed right into the story that they were giving their strongest efforts at bringing the death. The fact that the crowd chanted "Thank you, Candice" demonstrated the power of Zelina's presence and character. She only does one or two things the whole match, but the crowd is relieved to get her out of there. Fantastic heelery.

That elbow stomp that Shayna does is legit scary. She works like BattlArts. I'll bet she'd have been great in Arsion, working with Yoshida. She will only get better. Moon has such a great look. Her voice does not match the badassery she's trying to project, though. It's distracting.

Fantastic thread! I'm thoroughly entertained. And thanks to random dudes popping up with trivia from time to time, I'm also more informed. Win win.

Art's dumb questions and Gorilla's no-selling of them all night was perhaps the Greatest. Thing. Ever. Re this match: I just can't get behind Razor matches. I enjoyed pretty much the whole show - I watched it last night for the first time. But the Razor matches put me to sleep and were the weakest bit, so I am sorry he ended up in the finals and thus had to wrestle three times.

Not much to add, after all the comments. But I will say this: 1. Another example of how Kevin Nash gives a damn when working with Bret. 2. The idea that fat, rusty Anvil could outrun coked-up Michaels in a chase around the ring is ludicrous. So I am glad he didn't. But I do like how Jim cuts corners by diving through the ring.

Just bought the Lawler Dundee feud comp on hihhspots. $6.99 for a nice-looking mp4 was too good to pass up. Watching the feud buildup from 1983 now.

[1976-06-11-AJPW] Terry Funk vs Jumbo Tsuruta
Kronos replied to Superstar Sleeze's topic in June 1976
Just watched this one last night. The slow burn took a little patience in the beginning, but it's an absolute clinic on how to wring drama from the tiniest of things, like back-and-forth tests of strength. The slowmo replay on the sunset flip - which was especially gorgeous from a guy Jumbo's size - made it look like the poor fella landed right on his tailbone. Ouch! I love the fact that Terry had to get a little nasty to retain the belt, ending with bouncing Jumbo's throat off the top rope. I also noted that big as Jumbo is, Terry is almost as big. I never think of Terry being "big". But he was. This match was fantastic. -
I watched Randy v Shawn from World Tour 1992 last night. Dullsville! Randy may or may not have been hurt before the match. But he and Shawn had zero chemistry. Sheri tried to pep things up, but even she couldn't make it work as well as it needed.

What Happened When with Tony Schiavone
Kronos replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I have caught up on most of these shows, and I enjoy the heck out of them. (Conrad and Tony are a lot more fun together than Conrad and Bruce, for me) But I definitely zoom about 10 minutes into the beginning of the show before starting because I know the beginning is commercials and announcements about upcoming events, etc.
