Of course. It doesn't change the fact that this list overall is more US mainstream oriented than the previous one. Numbers don't lie. Anwyay, Vader following Steamboat, just like in my list, that's pretty cool. Yeah, Vader time. Still not as good as Aja. Bumped too easily to get into my top 20. And then. A bit a of a surprise. I didn't expect Tenryu not to be part of the Top 10, after all the pimping for years and years and the output in the 00's. He was my #6. Greatest former sumo wrestler ever too. The fact Eddie is still alive is a bit surprising. He has dropped quite a bit on my list.

Bock was the major new favourite of mine too in the last few years. So refreshing to see a world champion looking smart as opposed to doing dumb entertaining shit. My idea of a perfect pro-wrestler.

I "soured" a little bit on Steamboat during my WCW watch. Wait, he was still my #22 and is obviously a great, great worker. But his crappy looking kung-fu offense and systematic over dramatic selling kinda annoyed me at some point. For a great wrestler I mean. That's why he didn't made my top 20. But yeah, an amazing resume of good to great matches over 15 years (haven't seen much of his 70's stuff). It was almost impossible to have a bad match with Steamboat (only Snuka managed to do it). Love the Dragon.

Bockwinkle was my #10. I hope Lawler drops next. Or Flair (but we know that won't happen since Flair is winning the whole thing)
-
Literally no one has said that and the list does not even reflect that considering the top 10 is going to be a bunch of dudes from All Japan, Daniel Bryan and Ric Flair. This was in reference to you saying Roman Reigns could get at this level because he's very good already. Posts are just flooding to fast.

I edited it. It was supposed to be a direct reply to John's post about Bret's ranking in 2026, but then 3 posts already had appeared in the meantime.

WWE self-conscious epic = best style evah.

In 2026 Roman Reigns will probably make everyone's top 15.

Savage now. How did he gained so much spot, really ? Mystery footage ? Anyway, I had him at #47. One of my favourite wrestler ever. I probably overrated him a bit.
-
I had Arn Anderson at #13. Yes, above Ric Flair (yes, Ric Flair didn't make my top 10). Going through WCW TV, Arn was so consistently good for so long, and as a few great matches contrary to the popular belief. And a good TV Arn match meant so much more to me than an excellent (read pimped as "great" but not so much) Ric Flair formula main event at one point, that it became obvious than Arn was a much more interesting worker to me than Flair, and simply one of the best I've seen overall. It's a shame he had to retire in 97 when he did. He still had good years in front of him.

Blah, you should have submitted a list Dan.

The Bret Hart hate is hilarious. Gotta love pro-wrestling revisionism. Bret Hart = the new Nobuhiko Takada.
-
Reminder to all lucha fans : Negro Casas actually gained 14 spots since last time. Meanwhile, Mayumi Ozaki, one of the best fucking wrestler ever, got dumped from the top 100. So yeah, all journeys weren't the same.
-
I actually like Bret WCW stint in hindsight, once you got past the fact he was booked like shit. He's got the best Luger matches in years on Nitro twice.

Don't let people tell you what you should watch.

I'm a Regal fan. I had him at #73. Won't say more about this issue. Fujinami deserved a big boost from last time. Great junior then great heavyweight. But I do feel his 80's are sometimes a bit uneven once he graduated, and let's not talk about his 90's in details. So I had him at #41. May or may not get higher if I watched more past his prime stuff that may have been really good. I know there's probably some of it buried in NJ TV blocks, and maybe even in MUGA. But I've seen far too much lazy Fujinami past injury for him to get too close from the top 20. Lazy Fujinami is nothing you want to see. Great Fujinami is terrific.

I hope Bret wins it That legit cracked me up.

Yes it is possible. Not sure anyone has denied that. Or maybe. Just maybe. The pendulum switched to US mainstream, whatever the reason. With loathed guys like Angle and Michaels gaining spots (and not one or two spots), a larger number of US big 2 promotion guys being ranked, names like Savage still around, Cena placing ridiculously high. Yeah. Maybe. Just maybe.

I love Regal, but he has no business being this high BTW. Himself would probably agree.

NWA-TNA 2003 aka a passive-agressive way to deal with depression
El-P replied to El-P's topic in Pro Wrestling
I won't do better than the WCW Highway to Hell thread. Ever. I usually fast forward through the stuff that is really unbearable like a Russo promo or a Harris Boys tag match, or a Jeff Jarrett beatdown (more on that coming up), but I try to reflect on everything that happened. Still focusing on the good stuff as much as I can, even if it's just fun or pretty good. -
Yep, me too. That's why the idea of a Top 100 list every ten years until I drop dead is kinda appealing to me.

I had Hash at #11. Above Kobashi. The quintessential New Japan wrestler. Great big match worker. Tokyo Dome. G1. Left us way too young. Amazing music theme that used to give me shivers too.
