I'm afraid I've got some bad news...And his basis for this is a misunderstanding of a Jeff Hardy ROH appearance 14 years ago? Cena doing an autograph signing in Chicago would probably draw a few thousand people.

Everyone's talked about how well done the storytelling is here. CMLL stays hot and has places to go - I wish modern CMLL had this much plot development! Shoot, an electrocution angle, I didn't see that coming, things just escalated. Very much looking forward to seeing how this plays out in the coming months. Also can you imagine if Fuerza had gotten to team with Tully and Arn and they had competed to see who could get their opponents over more? So great.

Dave didn't really argue that adding a big Cena match to an ROH show wouldn't draw as much as Kenny Omega, did he. I still love Dave, tell me he didn't make that argument.

Hell yeah I’m watching this. I’ve always been a big Silver King guy, worked a physical style, took impactful bumps, lets see what he’s bringing to 2000 WCW. I’ve watched a ton of lucha in recent years and haven’t watched much WCW since it died so it’s weird to hear Schiavone hyping me on Silver King and El Dandy. What an odd time. Parka just dripping with charisma which he still has to this day. Parka/King exchanges are everything I want them to be. This was just all sorts of fun. I need to get more people on my Silver King bandwagon.

Some nice grappling from Atlantis and Shocker to start. The laid back feel of the match to start reminds me more of 90s CMLL, so far 2000 has reminded me more of 2017 CMLL. Salvaje does a nice job creating movement around Aguayo (I think that’s a term I read in the Torch about 14 years ago), I love seeing Perro in there. Shocker liked that Dustin Rhodes 360 bump when he was younger. Is Rayo’s leg legit stuck in a chair leaving Aguayo to represent the team? Did they improvise that finish? This never really reached the next level, decent but there’s much better to see from CMLL.

Always happy to see a Lawler vs big guy match. I don't care what the setting is, even if it's a dark quiet building like this, you give me Lance calling a Lawler match and I'm watching it. Some great lefts from Lawler, never gets old. I was listening to his podcast where his host asked him if he could ever help out in NXT and teach the kids how to throw punches, and Lawler says he doesn't know how he does it, he was never taught, he never practiced, it's just natural. Guy is a freak. Lawler taking a lot of bumps. Lance getting excited about a Lawler comeback, that'll never get old to me. Nothing great but solid, I'd say 51-year old Lawler having this match with Hughes is a positive notch in his GWE candidacy.

Short but fun while it lasted, impressive how much it packed in. My main reason for committing to this project besides Loss's awesomeness is to see more Negro Casas matches, but he barely played a role here. I enjoyed the near falls in the tercera and the finish.

I'm kind of sick of everything good being saved for Mania, especially if Mania is going to be a bloated show that's not fun to sit through like the last two years. I like them doing fun stuff during football season.

It's just such a weird story. WWE had HHH hop on a plane because they wanted to deliver a fair show to fans after guys couldn't make it, but they're sending home two guys that have big matches on these shows? That would seem to require a major bad thing, does not selling enough for New Day fit?

Very odd that Owens and Zayn would be this tough to work with while getting the biggest pushes of their careers. Owens got to kill Vince and beat Shane in the main event of HITC. Zayn is finally breaking through to a main event spot after languishing for 18 months. Do they love Jimmy Jacobs that much? Why be difficult now?

This has been the weirdest week in how long?
-
Meltzer says it's disciplinary and the people who would usually know the reason don't know.
-
What the hell happened in the last week? Why all this shaking up? Business has seemed fine, I don't know what's gotten into Vince, but it's interesting.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Sean Liska replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
Generally I try to watch several weeks of the weekly TV, I find it pretty easy at that point to have a feel for who everyone is and their status and everything. Just jumping into the best matches cold is much tougher. -
[2000-03-21-CMLL] Tony Rivera vs Mr Mexico (Hair vs Hair)
Sean Liska replied to Loss's topic in March 2000
Yeah, also impressed with Mr Mexico, didn't know what to expect but what we got was really good, no complaints. -
Yeah what we got was great. Only complaint is it seems like an epic Casas comeback in the second fall was mostly clipped out.

Because professional wrestlers want to win their professional wrestling matches. Why would the wrestlers not want to be on the winning team? Regardless of if they're going to switch teams once the next draft/shake up happens. It's not like free agency makes pro athletes not care about winning the games they play. Athletes care about winning games with something real on the line. Raw vs. Smackdown is more akin to a preseason or All-Star game. Maybe but it's worked so far. SD last week did a really surprisingly good number after the big Raw angle. Crowds are hot for it. The product seems to have momentum and purpose. We can very fairly poke holes in the logic but WWE to me had a hot week of TV and I'm looking forward to SS.

You still get fun stuff from Dave on the Board that are worthwhile. The problem is you almost have to troll him sometimes to get info out of him. Today he revealed that Ric Flair lost his podcast because he said Balor was too small to main event and Vince loved Balor at the time. Maybe that info was well-known in some Twitter circles, in which case I need to get into those circles!

Blue Panther and Tarzan Boy get us off to a good start. Now we get Casas and Wagner as we begin to build to the Anniversary show. Really fun sequence with them, I like Wagner hitting the People’s Rolling Senton. Casas with the sweet springboard headscissors, incorporating some flashy tecnico offense into his game at this point. Oh, Tarzan really botches that springboard but Casas and Charles recover to get to the finish of the segunda And they keep replaying the botch! Shoot is Tarazn legit hurt? Tercera seems a bit improvised as a result. Negro and Wagner exchange near falls as we continue that build. Very good match.

It's just that every time I opened Twitter yesterday the newest Tweet on my timeline was Dave lecturing someone on how much better PWG is than WWE! He's lost his mind a bit!
