Loss Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Posted September 1, 2011 Really good video to some Tom Petty song I don't recognize. Now that Bret's the champ, I suppose it's time to start presenting him like one. Quote
Strummer Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 the song is "Makin' Some Noise" by Tom Petty. Pretty obvious they were trying to put Bret over as an old school serious champion as opposed to the last 8 years in the WWF Quote
Tim Evans Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 I remember seeing this in 95/96. Good stuff. Quote
Bix Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 Unless it was added it to one of the later versions of the video, I'm sad that Loss didn't point out the black & white "home movie" of 77 year-old Stu separating "little Bret & Owen" in the Dungeon. Quote
Loss Posted September 13, 2011 Author Report Posted September 13, 2011 That was later. So cheer up. Quote

Wasn't this added to the WrestleMania X video that was played before the Bret Hart vs Yokozuna bout? Quote

shoe Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 The black and white Bret,Owen, and Stu reenactment was great. Quote
flyonthewall2983 Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 The WrestleMania X video used the Petty song. Quote
Kevin Ridge Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Am fond of this music video. Stu's involvement is always a plus. Quote
PeteF3 Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 I definitely associate this with WM10, including Stu's involvement. But this is clearly from '92, going by the clips used. Good tie-ins to the lyrics, too. Quote
WingedEagle Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 I didn't dig the music selection here. Felt too much like WCW. Great clips of Hart walking down the aisle, in the ring, old photos and some some recreated b&w shots from Stu's basement. Quote
Robert S Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 That was later. So cheer up. Huh? It was definitely there in the version that is on the 92 yearbook. I would really like to know, if the kids there were TJ Wilson and Teddy Hart. Quote
flyonthewall2983 Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 I didn't dig the music selection here. Felt too much like WCW. What it cost them to get the Petty song was probably the same as WCW's budget for that entire month. Quote
garretta Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 I actually thought that those supposed shots from The Dungeon were real for a minute, and I wondered how Vince had gotten access to them. I liked the collection of clips here; there's even one from the heel days of the original Hart Foundation, which I thought was supposed to be dead and buried. Also, points for using a real Tom Petty song as opposed to a Jim Johnston in-house special. Now if only the matches during this reign match the quality of this video........... Quote
Beast Posted January 29, 2019 Report Posted January 29, 2019 Got me all excited for a long Bret Hart title reign.... It's impressive how well the previous 12 months had gotten Bret over to legit main event level. Clips are shown of matches against Perfect, Piper, Michaels, Bulldog and Flair which is a totally stacked lineup, especially for back then. Loved the dungeon footage too. It's just an all-around great music video that makes Bret look like the new sheriff in town. He kept that aura around him even through the Hakushi/Lawler/Lafitte wars of 1995. It's no wonder so many American fans sided with him during the USA/Canada deal in 1997. Quote
flyonthewall2983 Posted November 3, 2020 Report Posted November 3, 2020 This is probably the first time I ever heard Petty's music. I was 9 years old and music wasn't that big a deal to me (that would come more when I was 13). In all probability I'm sure I heard stuff of his on the radio before that but I never really took notice. I saw him in a documentary a decade later or so and he said rock and roll was becoming like pro wrestling. He said something to the effect of "the fans know it's fake but they love it anyway". That had more wisdom about both that made me admire him all the more. Quote
