goc
Now I wonder if they are still going to go with the plan of Batista winning. It seems like something they would do, "ok we gave you most of what you wanted, but we're going to try and drag this out a little more" I actually would rather see Batista win and then have Bryan chase him until SummerSlam, picking up a clean win over Orton on a PPV in between. But I'd be cool with Batista or Bryan winning. As long as Orton doesn't retain.
Strummer
Agree. This was never the long term plan. But kudos to the company for calling an audible. Punk really did bring about change. If he didn't leave none of this happens
Jimmy Redman
I am thinking that HHH gets a win by nefarious means, Hogan restarts the match and then Bryan wins with a fluke roll-up to get into the main. I think now with Hogan presumably handing the Andre trophy to the battle royal winner, and whatever else, they may keep Hogan involved enough without inserting him into the main angle. And I don't think even they are insane enough to have Hunter beat him at Mania, even with bullshit and a reversal.
goodhelmet
You guys are acting like they are in Tupelo. If this was RAW from Tupelo, mustardjar would be appropriate.
hammerva
Agree. This was never the long term plan. But kudos to the company for calling an audible. Punk really did bring about change. If he didn't leave none of this happens Why are people giving Punk credit for this? There is no way that the same scenario would happen to him. Sure he would have faced Triple H at WM but that was it.
goc
Is it wrong that I'm excited about that battle royal? I mean it's probably going to be like 15 minutes including entrances but I'm hoping they use it to elevate somebody, preferably Cesaro.
dexstar
The implication that Jerry had something to do with the security situation is a really brilliant (but ultimately meaningless) detail added in by a usually abysmal commentary team. I don't know if they do it every year but they should. I missed the segment, is it just going to be for New Orleans or is it going to be an annual thing? goc
Those two guys coming out to try and get rid of like 100 people slayed me. I'm glad they use two old inept looking guys too and didn't just find some jacked up indy guy to play security.

I wouldn't give Punk credit for it like he orchestrated it, it's more some extraordinary dumb luck.
goc
And tonight's Raw is further proof that the majority of the speculation and fantasy booking that surrounds WrestleMania for months is pointless. I'm sure there are dozens of people who wrote pages and pages of how to get Daniel Bryan into the title match at Mania, but WWE accomplished that in a span of 20 minutes in a segment that no one saw coming. Trying to figure out the WrestleMania card in January is kind of like talking about who is going to be in the SuperBowl in August. I mean you can make a good guess but most of the time you're going to be wrong.
dexstar
With 30 spots on the card for that Battle Royal, I want to see prop bets on what dudes don't even manage to make it into that. Gonna be some fierce position battles at the bottom of the pecking order the next couple weeks.

Strummer
I would go as far to say that tonight was the first time in the whole angle where Bryan looked like a gigantic star. And you have to credit everyone involved there. Even the crowd and the plants

Log
It's worked out well, too that they've conditioned the fans to seeing Bryan win multiple matches in one night.

Loss
I give them credit. It doesn't matter how they got to the right place. It only matters that they got to the right place. And as much as it will piss people off, I really think heating HHH up as much as possible is the best path before Wrestlemania. They need to beat the shit out of Bryan as much as possible to make people think there's no way this is happening. And I'm sure they will.
