Dave and Bryan noted that Austin and WWE may have reached a deal. There is speculation that it's for a match at Mania. It seems plans might have switched and it might be Austin v Brock and Reigns v Cena. Cena goes over tomorrow, Rollins cashes in, Cena regains. Reigns being injured probably helps in the long run as I doubt he gets booed now during Mania season. WWE might as well keep him out till January now to ensure that although with Bryan returning around the same time things could get chaotic

I still think that it makes sense to have Ambrose pick up the winter wins like Mankind did in 98-99.

Definitely looking more interesting.

Dave on the F4W board:

This is not something to get excited about or you will be disappointed.

It's a Dixie Carter level surprise.

If he knows the surprise, why can't he just reveal it? I hate when he's vague or coy about something, and he does that all the time.

My guess (probably wrong) is that it's something to do with the video game. Maybe a "Next Generation" mode? If that means the NXT arena and wrestlers, that would excite me.

I don't want to see Austin come back. Austin getting that win over Brock does nothing to help them build their future whatsoever, even if does create one huge Wrestlemania.

Ditto. And it's yet another nostalgia buil-up with a 50 year old guy who retired more than ten years ago. But that's what WM has become anyway. Since Taker will most probably never work again, they have to rely on the last few huge names they can still drag from their last golden era. It won't be pretty once they really all get too old to show up.

After seeing Sting tweet about it yesterday I lost all hope of it being anything NOT related to 2k15. Oh well.

I want to see Lesnar and Cena going for a five star classic tonight. They've both got the perfect opponents in each other to do it and there is no better time like the present whilst Cena is still able to go.

Some of the shit going around about Cena suggests he's got maybe the rest of this year throough until Wrestlemania left in him as a full time act before he has to adopt a reduced date schedule. I can see him taking some time off, provided Reigns is back, healthy, and doesn't bomb, within the next few months to have surgery, because the guy really fucking needs it, I mean, you have noticed how he favours the left side of his upper body right?

I guess it depends on your booking philosophy for Wrestlemania. Vince has often been accused of booking Wrestlemania to get the most attention at the expense of the rest of the year, whereas most of us would probably prefer logical booking that uses Wrestlemania as the payoff for things that have been brewing all year, planting the seeds for the next round of storylines.

If Brock loses to a part-time wrestler, then it throws the entire year of development into the trash. If he wins, it squanders the chance to elevate someone new for the coming year.

Vince has been trying to score Rock/Brock at Wrestlemania? I can't see that match working for two reasons:

1) Rock would be the favorite to win, but there's no way they'll put the title on him again (nor do they need to), that means Brock would have to drop the title prior to Wrestlemania, which is always a possibility ,but one that would highly diminish his stock.

2) There is no fucking way that The Rock at his age, ring rust, and recent proneness to injury is going to be able to put on a decent contest alongside Brock Lesnar. Taker tried it this year at Wrestlemania, he went in, in terrible shape, got concussed early on and what followed was a pretty crappy match that resulted in Taker collapsing and having to be hospitalised, because he just wasn't in shape to contend with Lesnar's intense style. The Rock tore his abdominals performing a bodyslam on John Cena...

As for Brock/Austin.. Not a chance.

To add to what we've been saying about the video game, this month's Game Informer reveals that the MyCareer mode will take your wrestler through the Performance Center, NXT, and beyond, so I'm guessing that is what the "big surprise" is. Why Meltzer couldn't just come out and say that is beyond me.

These two posters on Wrestling Inc. hit the nail on the head:

The Griffinator • 20 minutes ago
Does Meltzer have a gentleman's agreement with WWE not to ruin their surprises? If so, doesn't that make his publication more-or-less useless?

Immortal1 • 22 minutes ago
I'm not sure why Meltzer doesn't come right out and say what it is if he's so sure. Makes it look like he's on the WWE payroll by withholding something like that. Just say it's for the videogame and be done with it.

I mean, really.

I really want this to happen. It's perfect for fans like me who drop back in on the product for a while around Mania time.

I agree it does nothing to build up the future but the WWE would just fuck up anything that had potential future build, anyway.
