I can't recall the phrase "headlining Wrestlemania" being used in the past, unless it's started in recent years when I haven't paid attention. It's usually about getting a title shot. Either way, I won't go on about this, but I noticed they said that exact phrase and only that exact phrase over and over.

They don't have title shots anymore Loss, they are "championship opportunities."

Aww man. And you wonder why I can't stand the product.

Another fantastic Smackdown tonight. Good six man and solid main event. Even the commentary is so much better on this show despite having two of the people who broadcast RAW. It's just so much better than RAW right now

Seconded, the fatal four way match was really good too. Everyone is seemingly stepping their game up in Punks absence. Maybe its just better recently. Happens sometimes.

Watch the show tonight guys! Have a good weekend.

I didn't love Cesaro vs Orton. I really liked the finishing sequence, everything from the first rope-assisted DDT attempt on. A lot of the match seemed unfocused to me, though, fairly even. My favorite part was when Orton faked the injury to take over and I think I would have liked it more if they played it up as Orton being out matched (or just worn out from the gauntlet he's gone through) vs this fresher, stronger wrestling machine, and him having to pull out every dirty trick he had to stay on top. Something like that. I didn't really see a through narrative in this at all, especially compared to some of the earlier Orton matches in this series. I liked Zeb being excited about the win and as silly as the Mania pointing is, Cesaro doing it with a little wave to Orton was fun.

I've seen two dozen Cesaro matches I've liked more in the last two years.

The Courtesy: PWI note on the Brazil photos was interesting. I'm not sure I've seen WWE use something like that before.

I think they've been doing that for a while now. I've seen it, probably on the HOF's they broadcasted on Classics on Demand.

Yeah, it's definitely been something I've noticed for a while. Definitely on the roundtable show they had, and on DVD releases, and various historical video packages. Not just "courtesy of PWI" but George Napolitano and various other sources. With some of the historical wrestlers they don't really have a choice, it's not like they own much of any footage of someone like The Sheik, just tossing a name out there

I don't know what the chances of Kevin Sullivan going into their HOF are, but a lot of the peak stuff of his either doesn't exist on tape or isn't in their library. How much of the classic Florida stuff is around? Showing 70's WWWF or 80s/90s WCW/NWA footage wouldn't really do him justice, but with photos from outside sources you can paint a good picture of the type of wrestler he was

OK just finished SD!. I fast forward through the Miz. It took a dip after the 4 way but picked right back up with Orton vs. Cesaro. Man, Cesaro just being in the discussion is awesome but they need to strap a rocket to THIS guy about 6 months ago. Anyway, anyone who wants to watch wrestling with a minimal amount of bullshit really has no excuse not to watch Smackdown as I have enjoyed the show for several weeks in a row now.

On the point of Cesaro needing a rocket strapped to him, I think the point made here that fans are desperate for ANYONE new to be pushed is definitely valid. It's not just Bryan (though he's the most over guy they have right now), it's guys like Cesaro, The Shield and even Ziggler for all his faults. If we're in February 2015 and WWE's main event is filled with the guys who people are actually chanting for, we'll be in a great place.

Yes, I felt like it was odd for Cena to namedrop the Wyatts in a positive way considering that they've attacked him recently. But on the flip side, that Michael Cole and John Cena are acknowledging it tells me they might be willing to try going in a fresh direction fairly soon. Nothing on WWE TV happens by accident.

Did everyone ignore the promo Cena did where he talked about how the crowd wants new guys? Cause it was pretty cool yet goofy in that awesome Cena way.

I definitely didn't ignore the signifigance, but I haven't seen it discussed really. It felt like WWE acknowledging, "yeah, we know you guys are getting sick of John Cena-Randy Orton matches, we're sorry, just bare with us through WM, we promise we'll push new people!"

And they are pushing new people. Bryan, despite what some people think about WWE's booking of him, has been getting a huge sustained push for a long time now. The Wyatts. The Usos. The Shield. Roman on the verge of a megapush. Big E. These are all fresh faces getting big pushes. But I think some people online look at the shows and see Randy Orton, Cena, HHH & Steph, Kane, Big Show and just reflexively take the "same old shit" position. My take is...these are all WWE lifers and the biggest stars of the last 10, 15 years they have as regulars....of course WWE will use them in prominant roles. That can be right or wrong depending on your point of view, but it's totally defensible from the WWE perspective. I'd probably book all of those characters differently, but I wouldn't not use them in top roles while they're still around.

Yeah Cena vs Cesaro was everything that we thought it would be. Some really innovative transition spots from the giant spin by Cena and the STF by Ceasaro and just incredible strength shown

I hope this is Cena's new tradition of having match of the year contenders on RAW to offset matches we are stuck with on WM. Last year it was Cena vs Punk
