pantherwagner
Indeed. It's somewhat funny that there will be a GWF episode uploaded next week before there's any AWA on the network.
sek69
Considering they tend to focus mainly on 80s AWA, most of the GWF shows would have been better anyway *ducks large objects thrown at my head by khawk*

shoe
Whoah Whoah whoah, they're uploading Global??? For Black history month they're doing an episode of Mid-South with JYD, and a show with from Global with The Ebony Experience.
The Chief
That's awesome, I always forget they have that library. Have they ever used Global footage for anything? I wanna say they did for Booker T's Hall of Fame induction but I don't really remember clearly.
pantherwagner
They once showed the "I saw the ground in 3D!!!!" quote from the Bungee Match in their old youtube "Are you serious?" show.
Johnny Sorrow
They own Global? How much did that cost? Who got paid $23.00 and a coupon book?
PeteF3
Does the coupon book include $1.00 off any one-topping from Tatum and Victory's pizza place?

No, it's an episode where Chaz ends up looking like a total idiot (I guess that's every episode with Chaz though) and a lot of Ebony Experience/Harlem Heat. They have uploaded a very varied and cool mix of stuff... I'd advise anyone that wants to watch this to do so during this month... the 12 Days of Attitude christmas section has seemingly vanished with all its videos, though that may be temporary. Either way it's quite a treat to watch some of this old stuff in such beautiful quality.
The Chief
I have such fond memories of watching Global after school as a kid. That was my first exposure to Cactus Jack. I literally haven't gone back to watch any Global since it originally aired, so this should at least be interesting

van_Fair
So since I did not take advantage of the free month in November I decided to sign up because I actually have some time on my hands in February. Last time I watched the network was back in during the 2 week trial thing they did in the summer and then everything was fine. Have they altered the streaming software since then? Because it is absolutely terrible right now. I can barely watch five minutes without it getting stuck for a while. I have had no problems streaming stuff in HD on Netflix or watching New Japan world. Didn't plan on staying around after the month anyway, but if it stays this bad I won't be back when I have the disposable income to have three streaming services. WingedEagle
I hope they promote the hell out of the Black History Month content. I don't know if it'll get a single person to sign up, but think its important they highlight and push the hell out of content other than the monthly PPVs. How much do people outside of this world or those who used to order the PPVs every month even know what's available? Just watched a fun Bad News Allen promo on there. Nothing out of this world, but nice to check out something different for a few minutes before heading out the door.
Matt D
Ok, this is pretty cool. So there's a WCW Main Event from 92, Championship Wrestling (WWF) from 83, a WCCW from 85, a GWF from 92, an All Star Wrestling from 76, a Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling from 83, a Mid South from 82, a NWA WWW from 82, another Mid-Atlantic from 84, another Mid South from 83, a MSG show from 76. I think it has more to do with the weather here in the states because usually the stream works out great for me, but today, it's been the worst it's ever been. I'm in Cleveland and we're getting hit with a foot of snow right now, but I know the northeast has been up to their nose in the stuff for days. I don't know if they have their own servers over here in Europe like Netflix or not. But if they really only have their stuff in Connecticut then it really does rely on the weather there. Seems almost a little short sighted to have a world wide service rely on one location, but I suppose they already spend enough money on the thing. hammerva
I saw that the Bruise Brothers clip from Mid South and I got giddy because I didn't know they work there but it looks like only one half with Porkchop Cash. I couldn't tell who the other guy was because he looked way too big for Norvelle Austin I think. Hell they even have a PYT Express segment from World Class on there. C.S.
Whoah Whoah whoah, they're uploading Global??? I have such fond memories of watching Global after school as a kid. Came in here to post exactly these two things. When did the WWE get the rights to the GWF? I would LOVE all of those episodes to end up on the Network eventually. I know the moon rock stuff would be shit on today (and probably was back then by Meltzer and sheet readers), but I loved the hell out of "Maniac" Mike Davis. clintthecrippler
Just skimming around the Black History Month stuff they uploaded to figure out prioritizing of later viewings, a few interesting curiosities: 1. I love the promo at the start of the studio episode of Worldwide Wrestling where Steamboat, Wahoo, and Jack Brisco surprise Jimmy Valiant with a new boombox after Jos LeDuc wrecked his old one the week before. Nice little feel-good moment to start the show. 2. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the GWF episode is definitely after their initial promising run to start the fed died down. The opening segment is a clip from last week where a match ended after a team was disqualified for spraying their opponents with a Super Soaker. Though I would love if all GWF got randomly uploaded at some point just for that first six months where Sean Waltman is just an awesome snotty brat as The Lightning Kid. 3. REALLY Random: the episode of WWF Championship Wrestling from 1983 doesn't have an actual Championship Wrestling intro, but the intro for "Global Wrestling" (repackaged Championship Wrestling From Florida) with clips of Dusty and Flair. I'm wondering if the source tape was maybe one they sent to a station where they took over the timeslot with WWF programming and the station sent them the "Global Wrestling" intro to transition the branding? I found that one really interesting.
DMJ
How many actual episodes of GWF were there? 40-60? As someone else who remembers this fondly as after-school programming, I wouldn't mind having the entire run of that available on the Network. Watching the one episode they posted was great, but I'd be more up for the Eddie Gilbert and Patriot stuff, as well as, IIRC, the segments where they had a correspondent who was 15 years old and talked about how "hot" GWF was at his school. Our resident library expert (Bix) probably knows the right time but it looks like the GWF and USWA Texas footage has been part of WWE since at least 2013. I don't know if they acquired it from the Savoldis or Max Andrews. I'd love to watch the USWA Texas shows restored on the network for similar reasons: I caught a few episodes on a European sports channel when I was 12 or 13 and I used to have a commercial tape with a Chris Adams vs Steve Austin match that ended with Austin splashing Chris and Toni Adams off the top rope. That was quite a HOLY SHIT moment for me back then.

Blehschmidt
Add me to the list of people with fond memories of coming home after school and watching an hour of Global before dinner and homework! I doubt it will do a lick of good but I just tweeted the wwe network twitter account and thanked them for uploading the Global and said it brought back fond memories. Maybe nice tweets about old content will let them know there is interest. Also, I think it was quite nice of them to include Black Bart in the history month section!
