Ricky Jackson Posted October 18, 2016 Report Posted October 18, 2016 It was great. I wish they could've covered the Larry feud but oh well Quote
WingedEagle Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 What in the world is going on here? https://twitter.com/AJStylesOrg/status/789193575737073668 Quote
sek69 Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 I'd imagine AJ wants a match with Shawn, which seems unlikely since Shawn is pretty adamant about staying retired. Quote
Grimmas Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 What a waste of an AJ match, quality wise. However, it might do something to get him more over if done right. Quote
Ricky Jackson Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Shawn looks like George Hamilton Quote
DMJ Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Damn. I'm sure all the Shawn haters would be against this and I'm not even the world's biggest HBK fan, but I'd definitely loved to see that match-up. I doubt it happens, though, just cuz if Michaels wasn't coming back to fight Daniel Bryan, I'm not sure what would entice him to come back and fight AJ. Quote
goc Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Yea file this one under "Definitely not happening" Quote

I feel like WWE AJ would have a better one-off special attraction match with Shawn Michaels than WWE Bryan. Still seems unlikely to happen, although it is a bit odd that AJ would mention it in an SI interview if it was definitely not happening. Quote

I doubt it happens, though, just cuz if Michaels wasn't coming back to fight Daniel Bryan, I'm not sure what would entice him to come back and fight AJ. Shawn's logic, which may or may not have been BS, was that the student vs teacher story, no matter how primal it might be, was something everyone had seen before. Part of me thinks he just never felt much of a connection to Bryan, despite "training" him. On the other hand, I could see him wanting to work with AJ so they could tell some sort of thinly veiled, not all that deep, Christian parable or something. Quote

Loss Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 The idea of Shawn Michaels having a Shawn Michaels-style match at 51 years old and at the Royal Rumble instead of Wrestlemania and against AJ Styles hyped randomly like this makes zero sense and isn't happening. Quote
Ricky Jackson Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 Royal Rumble is in San Antonio in a building that holds 60,000+.... Quote
sek69 Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 Shawn's absolutely going to be there in some aspect, but not wrestling a match. Quote

Goldberg's facing Brock at Survivor Series (likely to set up a bigger Brock vs Shane match, keeping in mind that Shane was the biggest draw at the last Mania, apparently). I think the business model is a little unstable currently, no? Quote
C.S. Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 The Bruno episode of Legends With JBL was great. My only disappointment is that it wasn't longer. It barely scratched the surface of his career - hardly any time was spent discussing each of his opponents, title reigns, and feuds. Zbyszko wasn't even mentioned at all. Still, it's awesome for what it is. The idea of Shawn Michaels having a Shawn Michaels-style match at 51 years old and at the Royal Rumble instead of Wrestlemania and against AJ Styles hyped randomly like this makes zero sense and isn't happening. I agree. The ONLY thing that gives this silly rumor any credibility with me, and it's flimsy at best, is that Shawn's movie - The Resurrection of Gavin Stone - is getting a January 2017 release, right around the time of the Royal Rumble. ` Quote

WingedEagle Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 Shawn's absolutely going to be there in some aspect, but not wrestling a match. This is what I fully expect. Just seems odd that AJ would throw that out there when we know how much Vince hates hyping things he can't deliver. Then again, AJ seems like he's actually handling his own account. But he had to get the image from somewhere. Quote

Is it horrible that I'd consider hanging that poster up? It's so hilarious! Between Ward from Agent of SHIELD's punchable face and HBK, not to mention TV veteran Neill Flynn (The Middle) and movie vet D.B. Sweeney, I'm actually curious about the movie now. Quote

I really don't know what to think of this. The division is obviously struggling, I'd like to see them fix what they have right now instead of just adding more. Quote
