Considering they got a billion dollars over the next five years, it's more like they cashed on a streaming service looking to overpay for content. It's not like NBC/Universal got a WCW level deal here.

Also the Network was very much a George Barrios/Michelle Wilson project. If anything it comes off as a "new coach comes in and replaces the former regime's ideas" move from Nick Khan.

More like 6 TB (internal or external) going by current European prizes. For a couple of years I am thinking about setting up a NAS at home, the problem are mainly logistics (where to put that and how get the network cable there - I don't want that noise in the room where my PC and TV are located).

Yes, it is. But recut to include a few minutes about him after he died. Tributes from Roman Reigns, The Rock, Bruce Prichard, a very upset and sad Vince McMahon and some others.

It is a bit of a confusing hackjob. The whole thing prior to the 2021 inserts is about how he's gay but that didn't matter because he was a good wrestler. Was a really odd tone for 2015 the documentary was primarily made and odder now. A lot of it was looking back at his career and telling the story of his parents, promoters etc. But then there is Pat telling stories about Vince Sr, and Gerald Brisco saying similar things. They could have tidied it up a bit as it felt like watching a DVD documentary with the chapters set at random at times. It is still worth a watch and Pat is extremely warm and likeable.

The first episode of Icons, on Yokozuna, is pretty good. Production-wise it's very good and it's clear they are modeling it a bit more on the Andre HBO doc. No voice-over guy, with some brief external information just shown as text, and not so crazy on the editing either. 

I don't know what the scheduling is on these but I hope Luger's episode is next as there really isn't any other episode I'm excited for. It's clear they are trying to counter what Dark Side of the Ring is doing to some degree, but I can see this being a really good program in the future for them.

I watched the Royal Rumble roundtable with Charlotte, Sasha, Mickie James, and Nattie. Ehhh, basically 18 minutes of fluff and back-patting (not that they don't deserve to feel proud - they absolutely do - but there wasn't exactly much substance to it).

Signed up for the WWE Network and started watching the 1st episode of RAW. Commentary team is fucking atrocious. The action is nice, though. Simple stuff, but it has its charm.

Comcast has had a streaming box for awhile now, Flex, which is free if you have a subscription. Included in that is Peacock Premium, a 9.99 value free of charge itself. It essentially means (if you're a Comcast subscriber) you can get the Network for free.

Ours are just as bad, this was just the one rare case that a Canadian one was worse.

So I re-subscribed to the network last week so me and some buddies could watch Royal Rumble. I've really been enjoying going through some of the AWA and Mid South I hadn't seen before. What happens to that when the WWE network moves to Peacock?

In theory, everything currently on the Network should slide over to Peacock when the changeover happens.

For 20 million a year I wouldn't think transferring everything would be so hard. What I'm worried about is how the interface will be affected. Currently on the Network you can skip over matches, or scenes in documentaries. The only other platform I've seen have this is Prime Video, which you can do this with their originals. Peacock doesn't have this.

Dave has said that the ability to "start at beginning" if you're jumping into a PPV late won't be available initially. My guess is that the interface isn't going to be great.

Just watched the Untold documentary on the APA. Nothing too groundbreaking, but Ron and John seem to have a great chemistry, surprised WWE studios never tried a buddy cop movie with them. However, they do seem to justify their stiffness in the ring, and YMMV on that.

That Public Enemy match was such a violent and brutal spectacle. Even back then, not knowing the inside story, I sensed something was amiss.

My billing date is coming up soon, and I already have access to a separate Peacock account, so I don't need whatever WWE will do to transition to that. Anyone else thinking of cancelling the Network after tonight? I don't really fancy paying another $9.99 for what will end up being a partial month.

I had found Austin's interviews with Bret and Flair to be boring and generic - mainly because they did not tread any new ground  there; do we really need Bret talking about Montreal for the 862nd time? - but his interviews with Bayley and now Sasha have been fantastic? Really really excellent, and I cannot recommend them enough. It helps that Austin is very obviously a massive fan of both Bayley and Sasha. There's a lot of respect and admiration that's plainly evident.

I just cancelled just now for that same reason. Already have peacock and don't feel like paying twice.

Dave mentioned on last night's show that the plan is WWE Network accounts are supposed to automatically transfer to Peacock. So I suppose if you pay for both you can cancel WWE Network now and just keep using Peacock. If you just have WWE Network alone, you might as well just ride it out.

Also he mentioned that the Fastlane show in March pretty much exists to be a guinea pig to see if everything blows up when everyone tries to log in to Peacock for the first time, which is actually smart to do instead of having Maina be the starting point.
