rovert
Welp a Top 100 matches on the WWE Network is coming out today on WWE.com. If the Women's PWI 50 didn't cause enough arguments yesterday.
cowboy hats
Any chance they'll post those matches to the network's video vault? I know it's not new content, but it's at least a way to easily jump to a match (even if they usually cut off the promo package hyping the match and entrances) rather than fast forwarding a PPV and guessing when the match begins. Unrelated: I'm a sporadic viewer (watching something no more than a few times a week), but I have yet to see an ad.
rovert
It is here: http://www.wwe.com/classics/100-best-matches They make you click through a 100 individual pages. When someone types up the full list I will post it and will make a thread.
Migs
I clicked on #100, Chris Jericho v. Triple H at Fully Loaded. It just loaded up the PPV.
bradhindsight
I don't know if they're necessarily ranking there - just noting 100 different matches to see.

Loss
The WWE 100 should have its own thread.
Loss
Considering the many masters they need to serve, it's not a horrible list. It's a puzzling one at times, but not outright bad. I encourage people to read the reviews though, just because they do read like a PWO parody at times. Examples: The reputations of Ric Flair and Lex Luger as in-ring performers are firmly established. Luger was a bronzed god who couldn’t wrestle his way out of a paper bag, while Flair was the type of preternatural genius who could have a good match against a paper bag. It goes without saying that Flair, knowing he was on his way out, could have sandbagged this match, but he was an absolute pro in competing against Perfect. What many of Rey Mysterio’s most flagrant imitators — and there’s a generation of them — too often overlook is that the lucha icon didn’t perform dazzling maneuvers just because they looked cool. Instead, it was Mysterio’s lack of size that necessitated his moveset.
bradhindsight
Loss - my head is spinning from the WrestleWar 90 write-up because what is the "Promised Land" and why is it capitalized? Horrible. On another note I apologize, the front page headline DOES indeed say they've ranked the top 100 matches (on the network of course). Grimmas
Weird stretch 6. Randy Savage v. Ultimate Warrior (WM7, career v. career)7. Bret Hart v. British Bulldog (SSlam 1992, IC title) 8. Dudley Boyz v. Hardy Boyz v. Edge and Christian (WM17, tag title TLC) 9. John Cena v. CM Punk (MitB 2011, WWE title) 10. Bret Hart v. Shawn Michaels (WM12, WWE title ironman) 11. Ricky Steamboat v. Ric Flair (1989 Chi-Town Rumble, NWA title) TLC better than Cena/Punk and Steamboat/Flair? The Iron Man in top 10?
PhilTLL
I could _maybe_ see why TLC might rank above Cena/Punk. And we're getting to the point that Flair/Steamboat maybe should be special-ranked as a trilogy to free up room, at least on time- and promotion-spanning lists, though not so low as Chitown and WW are here. But yeah the Iron Man match? Then again, look at #1, the lately ordained GOAT, and see how seriously to take the exact rankings.
Dwide Schrude
I strongly disliked HHH/Undertaker from Wrestlemania 27. I thought there should be more Daniel Bryan on the list, too.
Loss
Their goal was to represent as big of a cross-section of matches and eras as possible, not to provide an accurate ranking. I wouldn't criticize WWE.com writers too much for not doing something they weren't trying to do.
Dwide Schrude
How is including HHH/Undertaker providing a good cross section. They're each in about a dozen matches on the list.
Loss
Because they also still have to pay nod to the WWE version of history.
elliott
This list looks like something Scott Keith would produce with all the Benoit matches edited out and Hogan vs Andre added in. The best is RVD vs Jerry Lynn being ranked one spot behind Tully vs Magnum. I cannot imagine two more different matches. Also weird that Sting shows up more times than Cena. soup23
Iron Man isn't odd at all when you consider wwe.com history of these things. They ranked it the greatest WWE Championship match of all time for example.
Coffey
Natalya v. Charlotte from NXT one of the best 100 matches ever. Who knew? Fucking L-O-L. Or maybe it's not a "BEST" 100 matches list, whatever. That match was still an overrated pile that made my eyes roll. Natalya might be the most overrated worker on the entire roster. Actually, come to think of it, I can't think anyone close to her in the overrated category. Maybe Dolph? I honestly feel like she gets overrated just cause of her name. stomperspc
I think it is a fine list for what they were going for. The vast majority of matches listed are worth seeing for one reason or another. Skimming through it quickly, I see maybe only 5 or 10 matches that don't have any reasons to be watched. That's not bad.
jushin muta liger
Add me to the camp that thinks that this is not a bad list all things considered. I might use this list to see some of the stuff I missed during my breaks from wrestling. Kinda disappointed I only saw two Eddie matches on that list though.
Timbo Slice
Yeah, the fact that Eddie/Brock isn't on that list is the one travesty off the top of my head.
Coffey
WWE is smart though. Big lists like this always spark controversy & debate, which will lead to more hits & more people tweeting about them. Just puts their name out there more. MarcMadness
I love that Midnights / Southern Boys match. Might make my top ten of just tag matches.
BillThompson
Charlotte/Natalya is a really good match, with a promising Charlotte being aided to a really good match by the really good Natalya. Sure, if a women's match was to be on there I think it should have been Paige/Emma from Arrival, but there's no way Emma is making that list. All in all, an okay list. Nothing to really get upset about. There are a lot of matches I don't think are great, but it's not my list and these things are entirely subjective. Most of all the list is a good representative of WWE's version of history, the weird almost smark place that is WWE.com, and the great matches from "everywhere" that can be found on the Network. NintendoLogic
WWE can fuck right off with their long-ass lists where each entry has its own page. There's no way in hell I'm clicking through 100 pages, especially if I'm going to be "rewarded" with insights from the likes of David Shoemaker.
