sek69 Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 I kind of did. He was getting a lot of MMA and boxing work, and that plus whatever dirt he had on them with the JBL stuff probably meant they made him a ridiculous offer. Quote
Mrzfn Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 Well that's a bizarre resolution, but frankly probably a better fit than the main roster ever was. I know some people hate Mauro's style but I'd like him more better than anybody they currently have down there. Does he replace Phillips or does Watson get bumped, I wonder? Quote
sek69 Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 He'll probably be much better on NXT, he was great on the CWC with Bryan, Main roster production seemed to bring out the worst in him. Quote
The Thread Killer Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 I also quite liked that Black/Ohno match. Â As far as Mauro being in NXT...ugh. I was really excited that we were past the Ranollo era. I can't believe WWE is letting him work for Bellator and them at the same time. Quote
Cap Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 As long as he doesn't derail Nigel or cut into his time, I am ok with it. Nigel has been fantastic. Quote
Robert S Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 Well that's a bizarre resolution, but frankly probably a better fit than the main roster ever was. I know some people hate Mauro's style but I'd like him more better than anybody they currently have down there. Does he replace Phillips or does Watson get bumped, I wonder? He will replace Phillips, I would assume. (a) it does not make sense to have two PBP guys on the team and ( Watson is the token black guy on the crew (I know that reads racist, but that is exactly why he is on the team). Quote
jcmmnx Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 I've seen people say they want Watson replaced, but the guy only says about 5 lines per show. He doesn't add anything, but he really doesn't bother me. Quote
Robert S Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 True, from that point of view is better than 50% of the WWE announcers. On one NXT show I was starting timing the duration between Watson saying anything during matches. I think the average was something like 2 minutes (and when he was saying something he was just stating the obvious). Quote
sek69 Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 The issue is that there's really no need for a three man team on any show, even more so on a hour long one like NXT. Quote
SirEdger Posted June 24, 2017 Report Posted June 24, 2017 So, a couple of debuts this week in NXT live events & tapings.  Axel Dieter Jr made his debut in a live event on Thursday against Roderick Strong using his real name Marcel Barthel  And as expected following some reports, Bobby Fish debuted against Aleister Black in tonight's tapings. Looks like he's working as a heel. Quote
jcmmnx Posted June 25, 2017 Report Posted June 25, 2017 If they bring in Kairi, Shirai, Toni Storm, and a few more good ones from the MYC it's going to be a new golden age for NXT's women's division. I'm hoping Asuka sticks around long enough to face the new crop of talent. Quote
SirEdger Posted June 26, 2017 Report Posted June 26, 2017 Apparently, Shirai's debut will be delayed. WWE discovered a neck injury during her medical. She'll be reevaluated in July, according to Dave Meltzer. Quote
Ricky Jackson Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 Would it kill Meltzer to spoiler tag stuff in the WON, such as when leading off the WWE section in this week's issue with basically two months of NXT spoilers out of nowhere Quote
AlmostNinjaLike Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 Ciampa expected to be out until March. Fuck my life. Quote
Ricky Jackson Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 Roode vs Strong on NXT tonight was awesome. Maybe my favorite match of the year so far. Great story told in the ring and out. Fuck it, I'm going ****1/2 Quote
Eduardo Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 Last three weeks of NXT with Hero-Black, Asuka-Cross, and Roode-Strong have been pretty awesome. Quote
Sean Liska Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 Roode vs Strong on NXT tonight was awesome. Maybe my favorite match of the year so far. Great story told in the ring and out. Fuck it, I'm going ****1/2 Â Agreed, people who usually skip NXT TV should make an effort to see this one. So old-school, crisp, physical, snug, a sense of struggle, everything meaning something, just a great style of match that we see so rarely nowadays. Roode is really peaking now and Roddy is great. Quote
The Thread Killer Posted July 9, 2017 Report Posted July 9, 2017 I just caught that Strong/Roode match, and yes...that was outstanding. NXT has such an old school feel, it's awesome. That angle and match never would have worked on the main roster for a variety of reasons, but it was great in NXT. Eduardo is right, the past few weeks of NXT have been gold for TV matches. Quote
Ricky Jackson Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Oney Lorcan matches are must see TV Quote
KawadaSmile Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Actually, between Ruby/Ember, Oney/Burch and Drew/Dane, this was a very good episode of NXT. Quote
