jaedmc
Also remeber how small a group the origianl voters represent in this vote. It's not a third. It's I believe less than 10 percent. I'd say Trips will be on more than a third of the ballots at this point.
Matt D
If HHH drops before 109 he will have finished below where he did in 2006 in terms of ranking, so it's not like the 2006 poll did any better with his placement in that regard. Brody actually finished below where he did in 2006 as well. There's absolutely inflation though. Now I'm worried. If HHH finished 109 in 2006, with less than 40 ballots and only a few years removed from when most of the online community thought he was quite literally the worst thing to ever happen to main stream wrestling, I'm almost positive he ends up in the top 100 now. He's been less offensive (partially due to being less visible for a lot of that time) and has two or three matches more matches that a lot of people actively enjoy. It almost seems inevitable at this point. That's garbage. Straight garbage. Don't do that. What I meant was that it's tougher to end up 109 in 2016 than it was in 2006 because there's more footage more easily available and more wrestlers. More wrestling has happened. The pool of candidates are bigger. So, you can drop on this list and probably still have done a little bit better relatively than in 2006. Woof
HHH finishing ahead of VIII makes me question whether I'm actually watching the same things as other voters. Unfathomable. It can't be a question of footage, because the majority of footage we have for HHH hurts his case. It's not about footage availability, it's about what people took the time to watch and more importantly, what they follow. I am an American wrestling fan who for the sake of this project took time to look at a number of candidates outside my normal viewing pattern, but what I got to was a fraction off what I wanted to. I did not rank Villano III (or most luchadores) because I didn't have time to get to it. I voted for HHH. Does that mean I think HHH is a better wrestler than Villano III? No. It means I don't have the ability to make that comparison, so the guy I *have* seen gets my vote. Once this project got beyond about 50 ballots it stopped becoming about what a select handful of really intense fans thought and became more about a big picture look at what wrestlers are at the top of their particular genre. I think people really need to stop looking at where a guy fell in the overall and focus more on where they fell compared to their true peers, because that's going to ulitmately be the more telling ranking. JKWebb
Was hoping Luger could get closer to 100... I've seen him a few times recently and he likes to joke about how he was carried by everyone, but I don't think that's the case... He's so awesome to watch in those early JCP/NWA/WCW years
BAMptb
I voted for Triple H, and again, unapologetically.
Matt D
I voted for Triple H, and again, unapologetically. As you said. I'd be curious to see your rationale on what you think he does well, etc, though, and acknowledge the flaws and how one outbalances the other in your mind. Eegah
Golden Age workers may not have been on a ton of ballots but they had strong placements on their ballots. If we had more Rogers hed be an all timer for me.
victory
Sad to see Lex go. I was hoping he would make 99 or 100. He still did pretty good.
supremebve
Like Trump, HHH is winning off the back of anonymous voters, those who begrudgingly voted for him, and those who give extra points for celebrity. Bow down to the king. I hate you so much for this. I voted for HHH, and never felt good about it. My thing with HHH is that he is probably the one guy who we can't look at fairly. I stopped watching wrestling for a few years, mostly because I thought HHH beating Booker T after a program that was based on thinly veiled racism was just too much for me to look past. I can't think of another wrestler who I think is good in the ring that I would rather watch less. Everything about him as a character, a promo, and a backstage politician makes my skin crawl. I don't think any of that should matter when it comes to his ability as an in-ring wrestler. He isn't the best guy ever, but I honestly think he is one of the best 100 in-ring wrestlers of all time. Fuck him, definitely FUCK TRUMP, and damn you for comparing me to those asshats.

Cross Face Chicken Wing
Question to everybody? At this point what will people be happy with when it comes to Triple H? I was disappointed as soon as HHH was nominated. He does not belong anywhere on a GWE list. But in reality, I'm not really getting worked up about people finish outside of the top 100. As long as HHH lands outside of the top 100, I'll breathe easier.
JRGoldman
When I first decided to put together a ballot and was hypothetically forming it in my head, I had Tommy pegged for the 30-50 range, but the more footage I watched (not of him, necessarily, but of others) I found him sliding down. I eventually had him at #71, which I felt good about in terms of objectivity but sad that a guy I was sure was going to be a high point ended up falling. I can't help but think others may have had a similar experience with him.
cubbymark
At this point, all I can hope for is for HHH to finish ahead of Okada and Cenahashi (aka Tanahashi), I don't give a damn where that is. And I fucking hated HHH post 2001.
Jetlag
What are the best Tommy Rich matches? He's the one guy I didn't check out. All the talk about his great matches not being on tape threw me off.
Matt D
It's interesting he was unranked in 2006. Was that just a matter of people doubting how he got the title and being considered a failure, etc? Has his rep gone up that much?
cubbymark
There goes Perro Sr. Fuck, the lucha guys are getting squashed like they were crusierweights in WCW.
GOTNW
Perro being out sucks so much. Fourth guy from my top half to drop now. Big props to goc for ranking him so high. I considered ranking him as my #1 licha brawler but just couldn't do it, I think the case for Chicana is stronger.
DR Ackermann
How many luchadores are even left? There's going to be like 5 in the top 100? All behind Triple H...
goodhelmet
On one hand, Brody is out. Great!!! On the other hand, Perro and Wildfire are out. FUCK!
Jimmy Redman
I think the guys who are left are exactly the guys you'd have expected to be left when this began - Casas, Dandy, Santo, Satanico, Panther, Atlantis, Virus, etc., etc. As good as the likes of Perro Sr. and Black Terry are seen to be by their fans, they don't have the kind of reach to be on enough ballots to get them into the top.
