Bix
So, last night's Raw featured: - In the style of the Rey-Chavo/Vickie feud, Randy Orton as some sort of Chris Benoit/Michael Benoit/Cary Ichter/et al combination (Meltzer confirmed this was why the angle happened). - Shane McMahon laying out their top heel, handling his lackeys easily, and punching out a rising babyface, all while completely blown up and throwing the worst punches ever. Boondocks Kernoodle
I wouldn't say Meltzer "confirmed" it, just that he was speculating that was what they were going for...but nothing would surprise me with WWE.
Boondocks Kernoodle
Another interesting note: The name of the "FU" was changed because of Linda McMahon getting on the Connecticut Board of Education.

kjh
This may just be a coincidence, but both CNN and the New York Times did stories about multiple concussions causing brain damage in dead NFL players yesterday (CNN story, NYT story). smkelly
D'Lo is getting a "one night only" shot with ROH. Will he be booed out of the building like Jeff Hardy? President Barack Obama has just raised the nation's terror alert status to "severe" as a result of a crazed and ongoing rampage by WWE Executive Vice President Shane McMahon. Shane McMahon, enraged after his father was kicked in the head by WWE star Randy Orton, simultaneously attacked and destroyed Orton and two of his cohorts on the USA "WWE Raw" program last Monday night. Shane McMahon's rage continued after the show went off the air when he attacked and destroyed the rest of the WWE roster, everyone backstage, and the entire audience. He then ate the Wolstein Center and charged into the streets of Cleveland. Terrified Ohio residents have been locked in their homes ever since, praying to God to save them. President Obama was on top of the situation as it unfolded. "This is no ordinary human being we are talking about," President Obama said. "As soon as I saw Shane appear on the Raw stage with that vengeful look in his eyes, I upped the national terror alert status to 'Elevated.'" "When Shane look off his coat, I called in the Joint Chiefs and moved to the War Room. When he took off his watch we skipped right over 'High' and went straight to 'Severe.' When Shane hit the ring and started throwing those punches I asked the National Security Team to throw the entire Alert System away. It's useless now. We are in uncharted waters." Citizens are warned to not attempt to confront Shane McMahon, as any attempt to stop him would be futile. Mr. McMahon is not armed with any weapons, but that fact is irrelevant. "He doesn’t need any weapons," President Obama explained. "He is an elite superhuman. He is unstoppable. He is a McMahon. "May God help us all." rovert
When Jeff appeared in ROH, was he booed from the moment he came out or did he stink up the joint? He was booed before he came out. The fact that he wore a mask for some reason to the ring and his foot slipped on the middle rope doing his pose before the match only made it worse. Resident Evil
I wonder what kind of reaction Jeff Hardy would get if he showed up at a ROH show today. A better one to be sure. I would say it'd be positive overall. I also see D'Lo being cheered.

sek69
If for some reason Jeff Hardy left WWE today, you can damn well guarantee ROH would ask him to make an appearance at least. Also, it's hilarious that ROH fans are now turning on Adam Pearce's booking because he wanted to tone down all the ridiculousness that ROH tends to get made fun of over. They're turning on Adam Pearce, because it sounds like the booking hasn't been very good. Regarding Hardy: He got heavily booed when he came out and then when he slipped on the rope it just made things worse. The awful match helped nobody. Phil Schneider
Pearce is terrible, I am not a fan of ROH overkill wrestling at all, but Pearces booking has been total shit, and he seems to have no idea what the audience want. ROH feels like Russo WCW or end of the line UWF at this point.

Bob Morris
From the 1/31 F4W.com update. The folks at TNA once again prove they don't get it: You can't make stuff like this up. Thanks to Devin Cutting for this TNA press release: Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich offered Chairman job of TNA Wrestling’s Main Event Mafia. TNA Wrestling is offering the new Chairman job to its Main Event Mafia faction - and the opportunity to openly sell chairs, steel chairs - to ousted Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich. TNA officials confirmed today that Blagojevich, who was impeached by the Illinois House of Representatives on January 29, is being offered the “Chairman” job within its Main Event Mafia faction, an elite unit which includes U.S. Olympic Gold Medal winner Kurt Angle, former World Heavyweight Champions Kevin Nash, Booker T., and Scott Steiner, and reigning TNA Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion Sting. Blagojevich was arrested on criminal charges on December 9, 2008, for conspiring to sell the senate seat vacated by then-President Elect Barack Obama to the highest bidder, but Angle truly believes in the U.S. justice system. “He’s innocent until proven guilty,” Angle said. “As the leader of the Main Event Mafia, I am a huge fan of the Illinois style of politics. As such, Governor Blagojevich is welcome to join me and the entire Main Event Mafia at any and all TNA events in the future, and certainly is welcome to sell his seat with us should he choose not to accept our generous offer.” Blagojevich is a former amateur boxer, so Angle is convinced Blagojevich, “easily will be able to handle the transition to pro wrestling,” Angle said. The Illinois House of Representatives voted in favor of impeachment by an astounding margin of 114-1. Only 60 votes were needed to push the impeachment forward. The single dissenting vote came from Democratic State Representative Milton Patterson, who represents the Southwest side of Chicago.
