Al
Bobby Heenan put it in his book. I'm guessing that the Sheik himself was the source of that story.
Strummer
Oh man, I forgot how great DustyDust was. Dustin really does a good impression of his dad. "bump 'round fo me boy I dunn pop't dis territory!"
tomk
What exactly was Vince's relationship with Dusty. I was watching some 89 WWF and you have Tv shows with with both Virgil and Akeem the African Dream on the same episode and it seemed excessive to have two characters both as shots at same guy (and race based shots at that). By the end of 89 you have shows with polka dot Dusty w/Saphire, plus Akeem doing his Dusty impression plus Virgil. Three gimmicks aimed at mocking same guy on the same show is overkill. Â I mean when the IRS was giving Vince trouble there was only one guy with an IRS gimmick, when the PTC was complaining there was only one heel group working a PTC faction gimmick, when his neighbors didn't like him there was only one Conneticut blue blood heel. sek69
Well Dusty was the booker/top star of the competition, and we all know how offended he gets when other companies run against him. What really struck me is how when they were doing the DustyDust bit , JR made sure to mention how Dusty was okay with it. That seemed odd, considering it was the middle of the Monday Night Wars and all.

What really struck me is how when they were doing the DustyDust bit , JR made sure to mention how Dusty was okay with it. That seemed odd, considering it was the middle of the Monday Night Wars and all. I thought that was because Dusty made a bet that he could get anything ever, even himself dressed up in polka dots. Â I just ordered Gary Hart's book. He was a bit before my time because I did not start watching pro wrestling till 1992 but I decided to get it because I like reading about history no matter the subject and I heard somewhere that he hated Sting so that made me curious to find out why. Is it as good as Bret Hart's book or Foley's books?
Bix
The Gary Hart book is top-flight. Great, great stuff. Â He said Sting was a hypocrite who hated jobbing, had no respect for anyone, and would openly mock mentally retarded people in public.
Loss
That may have been in reference to Sting refusing to job to Terry Funk during the Flair feud.
KrisZ
Sting was notorious for being a prick in the early 90's as Luger was his main influence. Back when they ran Main Event Fitness in Buckhead the douchebaggery was running rampant before Sting found religion.
rovert
Anyone seen Guest Booker with Mike Graham? Certionly non-essential but he does say the same things he said in the Rise & Fall of WCW about giving Bischoff the "keys for success" with the added bonus of stating Magnum TA's car crash Was karma for leaving his father's promotion. Nice. Â Despite it being a Guest Booker Graham doesnt book any angles

sek69
I always thought Stu Hart's distinctive voice was just the result of old age, but the Stampede show from 1961 on WWE 24/7 now proved otherwise.
Dan
Yeah, Stu has always had that accent. I guess it's a countryfied rural variation of the western Canada accent. I don't know about the "eh eh", "ah ah" stuff though.

Johnny Sorrow
From The Observer  --Jim White, a Memphis wrestling star of the 70s, passed away on 1/7 after a long battle with cancer. There will be a viewing tomorrow night from 6-9 p.m. at the Britton Funeral Home in his home city of Manchester, KY, and the funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday. White, best known as Jerry Lawler's first tag team partner, as Lawler & White, managed by Sam Bass, had a big run that drew huge crowds (some of the best consistent business in the history of the territory) against Jackie Fargo & Jerry Jarrett. I only got to meet White a few times, but White was always a nice guy and he was an Observer subscriber and regular letter writer for I would guess about 25 years. That's a shame. I don't think I ever saw any footage of him, maybe a clip of him and Lawler. But I've read about him.

Loss
I am long past the point where I care too much about who wins and loses worked matches. Â But Jericho losing three or four consecutive loser-leaves-RAW matches, after losing every match in the buildup to the first match, and losing matches to other people on Smackdown in the interim, is a little ridiculous. Â The formula is getting old. Is Jericho going to find a way to get back on RAW yet again next week and lose yet another loser-leaves-RAW match? Â He was a much better heel in 2008 and early 2009 when they actually let him get heat.

Grimmas
This has to be leading somewhere doesn't it? Doesn't Jericho have to either win the Royal Rumble or win the Tag Titles back? Otherwise, what was the point of this?
