Manatee Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 I'm glad they elevated Scorpio Sky. It's just a shame they stuck him and half the guys on the roster who can work in this disaster. Quote

sek69 Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 They needed the Mike Tenay/Don West celebrating gif for that reveal. Quote

jiraffejustin Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 We have two unrelated Cages and two unrelated Pages in AEW. Wonderful. Quote
Strummer Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 Christian was in the final 4 of the Rumble a little more than a month ago. Now he's in AEW. I kinda mess these jumping ship moments Quote

KawadaSmile Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 I wish Surfer Sting could be there to tag with his son Skater Sting Quote
Dav'oh Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 anticlimax /antɪˈklʌɪmaks/  noun a disappointing end to an exciting or impressive series of events. "the rest of the journey was an anticlimax by comparison"   Quote
NintendoLogic Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 They're even using his TNA theme. Fucking hell. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 wait this is a cinematic match? oh boy Quote
sek69 Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 rovert will be around shortly to resume trying to convince us that Christian is a mega star I'm sure. Quote
Loss Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 It's a great signing for AEW and he'll be valuable to the company. I don't think it's a disappointment, but a lot of people do, to the point that I think these announcements are playing with fire unless you're signing someone at the John Cena level. Quote
SteveJRogers Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 Just now, Coffey said: For AEW's sake, I hope so. Yup.  Christian is the definition of a second/etc tier HOFer that you’d expect wouldn’t be in until many years into a retirement.  Not a first ballot HOF caliber talent as advertised. Quote

sek69 Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 OK Sting with the Darby style paint is pretty cool. Quote

Absolutely agree here Quote
sek69 Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 TBF as much as I'm bagging on it, I'm glad the announcement wasn't broken down Kurt Angle. Quote
MoS Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 Commentary during a cinematic match is a terrible idea. It's just so counter-productive Quote
C.S. Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 I guess WWE didn't sign Christian. This was reasonably the best option AEW had. Punk, Brock, and Cena were never realistic possibilities. Angle is broken down. Christian is a great get. Not sure why anyone is disappointed, as it would've been a huge surprise without the hype announcement. As it is, it's still a pretty startling development considering that he was final four in the Rumble only a month ago.  Quote
Manatee Posted March 8, 2021 Report Posted March 8, 2021 They must have needed to pop the buy rate enough that they were willing to sacrifice credibility. Quote
