NotJayTabb Posted May 21 Posted May 21 It'll be interesting to see how well the polarizing figures do in the reveal, especially as Grimmas is giving us the breakdown of top 3/top 10/top 25 votes. I suspect the likes of Omega/Ospreay/Moxley will appear on less ballots, but more high votes than the more traditional picks who'll place similarly by getting on more ballots, but less highly. Comparing the breakdown of an Omega vs a Liger for example.
MoS Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Yes, I am also very interested in seeing where Mox, Omega and Ospreay land finally.
Boss Rock Posted May 21 Posted May 21 3 hours ago, MoS said: I think even if we run that poll now here, Reigns will win handily. Mox is quite polarizing on the board while Roman is generally very well-liked. But yes, I do think that generally, Mox has seen an upsurge of appreciation while Roman has come for more criticism in the last few years, at least from what I have seen on Twitter and the GWE discord, even though Mox's last world title reign got a lot more criticism than the last couple of years of Roman's mega-run with the world title. I think Mox regained a lot of goodwill near the tail-end of the Death Riders run in the build-up to and match with Page. Shortly after that he dropped a lot of the repeated interference and went back to his usual style, just in time for the Continental Classic which he had a great run in.
TheBean Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Awesome Akira Hokuto pic - she is such a badass 😋 One of the few from my top 10-15 that did as well as thought they "deserved." Hoping that more recent wrestling fans are finding all kinds of old school wrestlers to watch from the GWE list. I feel like 1980-90's wrestlers in the #26-100 range (at least) are due more attention by younger fans in the next 10 years.
club Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago There was talk on here before the results started to drop of Tenryu being a top 3 candidate. Based on how people voted for older Japanese stars I can't see Tenryu being on over 75% of ballots. So even with an average placing on those ballots of say #15, his ceiling would be around 30-31k (481 x 0.75 x 85 = 30663.75). A wrestler on 90% of ballots would only need to be in the top 25 to comfortably beat this (481 x 0.9 x 75 = 32467.5). So I think you'll see Flair, Funk, Bryan, Kobashi, Misawa, Rey, Austin and maybe Tanahashi ahead of him.
Boss Rock Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Starting to reckon with Tenryu dropping this round as well, which would pretty much put him where he was in 2016.
