Yeah Chris can't go like it's 1996 anymore but he gave all the effort he could. Two guys who are great workers in the sense not of technical know how, but to get the most out of everything they do. Also Mox-Punk is going to to stupid numbers. Someone explain the flipping off gesture? Seeing it compared to Rock doing the “TALK TO THE HAND” to Hogan gesture at the WM 18 Go Home show. Obviously they weren’t going to shake hands, but seems like it was a “for the sake of it” move towards someone that just did a save job, as compared to raising the belt in a “soon there will be no interim” way and walking out. strobogo
Mox flipping Punk off and walking off is 100% in line with Moxley's character and recent promos getting more and more pissed at the "interim" title.
Embrodak
Punk looks like he got in mildly better upper body shape while he was gone. Also that first clothesline he hit looked really good, a rarity for him. I don’t know that it’s possible for me to look forward to anything Moxley does, but I’m certainly glad Punk is back. Would also be kinda interesting to see Punk and MJF reignite the feud at some point, with Punk now in the John Cena role vis a vis MJF’s put-upon antihero. I wouldn’t do that first, but I’m also not sure who’s a heel who’s over enough to credibly challenge Punk at this point, given Kenny is supposedly gonna be doing Trios stuff when he comes back. strobogo
I don't think MJF comes off as an antihero at all in that whole situation. MJF's "pipebomb" was ultimately bitching about money against a face promotor/company, unlike Punk's which was about a lot more than money and was against a promotor/company that was heel. He has to lie in that little box for the whole match up to that point. Wwe always used a big casket and it was raised up on something. I thought Aew had a big coffin too but maybe I am misremembering. Also Brody King looked awesome. The coffin was empty before Brody even entered. I suspect that he was hiding under the ring for the start of the show and when the lights went out for the House of Black to appear, he crawled into the coffin for his spot. strobogo
He didn't come off as an antihero to me specifically. I know fans were cheering, but to me, he came off like a bit of a shithead who obviously was going to get a giant contract when reup came and tanked it for himself out of jealousy. I would compare it to a rookie NBA/NFL contract for a guy who ends up becoming a superstar and parlays that into a massive contract for his second deal. I don't think real sports renegotiate contracts mid season, either.
Embrodak
Yeah, I get that. He prob fucked himself in terms of free agency by no-showing that meet and greet, WWE doesn’t look kindly on that kinda primadonna behavior, but I think it came off well enough for what it was. sek69
Sammy and Tay defending the mixed tag titles made me realize AEW has probably more AAA title matches on its TV than AAA does.

PeteF3
Please stop trying to make the Trustbusters happen. This is the Million-Dollar Corporation reincarnate and nobody is notalgic for that shit. And 100+ guys on the roster and this Zack Clayton goof is getting a title shot, even an unsanctioned one? Come the fuck on. Lee Moriarty or one of the Wingmen would be an improvement for this spot.
Johnny Sorrow
When Bryan was yelling at Garcia about whether or not he was a wrestler or a sports entertainer I wanted Garcia to say, " Actually, both are the same thing. This whole idea that one is not the same as the other is just bullshit to make nerds feel good. Wrestling is wrestling. Now, I will go into my dissertation about McMahon, New Jersey, Christine Todd Whitman, and the undeniable fact that The Harlem Globetrotters are the true innovators of what Sports Entertainment could be." And then Bryan punches him.
El-P
And who looks like an idiot for pimping Madison Rayne after she had two bad matches in a row ? I do. Then again, I never pretended she was a great in-ring worker (she's much better than she showed there thus far though, no idea what happened, maybe nerves of being on live TV in front of a big audience after spending most of her career in IMPACT), I always said she was a great performer aka she's great at character work and little details. The thing is, Madison Rayne is a bitchy shithead funny heel. I have no idea who thinks it's a good idea to introduce her as a cold babyface. I wanna see Madison do stuff like Locker Room Talk, that's where she shines. They made her a big disservice by miscasting her like that. I feel I said the same thing the other week after the Yuta match, but people may think whatever about Jericho, but it's totally undersold that he's actually 52 years old. There aren't many 52 years old who had a match like he just had with Mox. The guy is on fire right now, and although some of his stuff can be hit and miss, he still delivers on a high level regularly. At 52. Awesome main event, great clean finish to boot. post match was of course awesome and All Out already feels like a big deal now. Omega is coming back next week, right ? Darby vs Brodie King was amazing once again. Ridiculous violent feel, like a horror movie (and I don't even like horror movies). The finish was inexplicably perfect. If the prospect is House of Black vs Darby, Old Age and Crazy Sting & Miro at the PPV, this is going to be something special for sure. Lucha Brothers vs Ingobernables was terrific in term of Penta & Fénix getting the other two caught into their clusterfuck of action. Rush has looked good thus far, pleasantly surprised by how he's been presented and how he's been handling himself. Garcia vs Danielson 2/3 falls needs some time, hopefully they don't rush it, there's nothing a lot more annoying than rushed 2/3 falls matches (although I understand it's TV, but they did long-ass matches before). I definitely can get behind that Parker Boudreaux guy as he obviously watched a lot of Vader matches and stole his finisher from Taue. Plus he looks different. Lee Moriarty or one of the Wingmen would be an improvement for this spot. yeah, that angle with Ari Daivari is lame. This is the kind of stuff I would expect from, I dunno, NXT 2.0 or something. Pro-wrestling needs to move forward, not backward. Daivari looks better than his amazingly dull older brother, but really now, Stu Grayson was never given any real time but this guy gets on TV ? Same goes for whoever the fuck Zack Clayton is. I mean, a Broman gimmick in 2022 ? The Jershey Shore shit is still a thing ? I mean, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but AEW throwing people out of nowhere on TV like this really is an issue when they are not even known or cult indie guys (I mean, I can get why Mance Warner was ok, plus they did air a promo, but Zack Clayton, what ? Who ?). Why don't they do vignettes, even short ones. Vignettes are cool. But fuck yeah, give me JD Drake instead of this or Erik Redbeard showing up for no reason whatsoever (not that he did not look good, but again, they have a zillion people signed already that they aren't using). 5 hours ago, sek69 said: A Sonny Kiss heel turn? Alright Tony, I didn't see that one coming. Well, no one saw it coming since she's not been on TV probably since the Cody match. Which really is too bad, the Janela team & feud was the best stuff AEW did that no one saw. Long overdue, and hopefully she gets featured now. I wish it didn't came off that lame angle though. But give me Boudreaux & Kiss as a tag team maybe and push them on TV like you did the Acclaim. Is Tay Melo the first pro-wrestler changing her wrestling name following a wedding ? The mixed tag match was really good, as good as it could be with annoying rules of no men/women interactions (which doesn't even make sense in this context as the AAA mixed tag is defended in true intergender fashion). Danhausen is totally uninteresting once the bell rings. He's over as fuck because of the cult thing, but please keep him out of matches, I have yet to see him show me *anything*. That's the HUGE difference with Orange Cassidy, who not only is a much funnier and better meme wrestler, but is a legit great worker to boot. Danhausen is Santino Marella basically. Which is good to have I guess, but matches ? Nope. I hope Brian Pillman turns on his partner next week. He looked way better as a heel during Ric Flair's retirement show than he ever did in AEW. So, if there's something to be done, well.
sek69
It was cool to see something unexpected happen on Rampage, made the show feel like something worth watching instead of the way its been recently where you don't miss anything if you skip it. Johnny Sorrow
I know lots of folks have been down on Jericho lately, but I honestly have been enjoying the JAS. And that match with Mox was dope. And I don't mind JR on the call as long as Taz is with him. Taz's reactions to some of JR's weirder calls are hilarious. I’ve seen him get negative about stuff he doesn’t like, but he doesn’t nit pick every little thing. If something is mostly positive in his eyes he’s going to be positive about it. I’d always rather hear about the stuff people like instead of what they don’t. There is a place for deep dives and criticism for sure, but for me week to week AEW puts on mostly enjoyable shows that are more good than bad in my opinion. AEW has been pretty quick to move on for the most part when something isn’t working and try something else.

El-P
On the MJF front, I for one, although I've been a fan since his MLW days, don't miss him on the shows at all. That's kinda odd. I feel like although when/if he's back it will be big, and even bigger if he shows up in WWE, there was so much big news during that time and Vince being gone is so much bigger than anything else, the whole MJF drama feels like old news by now. I'd gladly take anything from the Blackpool Combat Club over whatever MJF does (and again, I was a big fan). There's also the fact that, if the end game is ending up in WWE anyway, with about one year left on his contract, why would TK devote any of his precious time to make him a bigger star now ? When the trust is gone, it's gone, it's like in a relationship. Considering how things are going seemingly nowhere, I wonder why TK let him cut that promo on TV. Johnny Sorrow
It's awesome that AEW can sit as long as they're doing in the MJF thing before we finally see if it's all a work. Its also helps that no one cares. I haven't missed him. As great as he is, he has the worst entrance jacket/ robe. It looks like shit and he's supposed to be rich. But whatever happens with him, it'll be big for at least a bit.
