Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?

The only other show that TSN airs on their networks is Battle of the Belts but they often do it on tape delay. You would think that with 5 feeds, they could find room to air Collision instead of airing the same thing on 3 different feeds.

Yeah, I'm gonna skip Rampage & Collision altogether once that the TSN+ free trial ends.

I have seen a lot of Canadian fans online today talking about using a VPN and paying for some AEW package on FITE TV.

Apparently the international deal with FITE allows you to watch all of their shows on that app, commercial free. I may look into that, I don’t know. I am a little irritated that I am going to have to go to all that trouble, and I might just give up on them as well. I don’t like the idea of having to jump through a bunch of stupid hoops just to watch a TV show that is going to end up getting preempted half the time for sports anyways.

Can y'all just watch streams? I know for awhile, I was just using the Wreddit Streams to watch shows I didn't get.

It's interesting because when I used to live in Indiana, when Smackdown was on UPN, they had two touring brands in WWF: RAW & Smackdown. In Terre Haute, where UPN wasn't carried, they brought the Smackdown crew for house shows. To a city that didn't carry their show. Just seems like that should have been the job of someone to make sure that the market they were going to had the show that was coming, you know? So that shit has been around for awhile.

There is a website (which I will not name here of course) where you can get a live stream of pretty much any Pro Wrestling show as it happens. I have used that site on the rare occasions I have actually wanted to watch Rampage.

The problem is, I freely admit, I am an old man and am somewhat traditional in my ways. I’d like to just watch a damn show on television not have to use my phone or tablet or laptop or try and cast a stream to my TV. I have done those things before, but it’s a bit of a pain and I find the VQ tends to vary, and my experience with streams has always been that they tend to cut out a lot. I just want to sit in my armchair with a refreshing beverage, and a bag of pork rinds and watch my shows, dammit. *shakes fist*

I do have a Firestick and I had been informed by a friend that you can easily install a VPN on your Firestick and then watch the International feed of AEW Plus on the FITE app with minimal problems. That was going to be my plan if I wanted to watch Collision.

However, the news came out yesterday that it turns out Collision is going to be available on TSN 5 on a delay tonight. It is coming on at midnight, and then surprisingly it is scheduled for its normal 8 PM airing next week on TSN 2. There was quite a stink on Twitter and elsewhere online when it was announced that the show was not going to be available on traditional cable TV in Canada, so it appears that TSN and AEW must have worked out some sort of deal.

So tonight, I will just avoid spoilers for a couple of hours and catch the 12:00 AM broadcast on TSN.

I don’t know if my fellow PWO Canadian Good Bubbas like @SirEdger have heard about this, but it seems like there has been a change of plans when it comes to the Canadian broadcasting plans for AEW. At least for now.

I hadn't heard about it until now but as I'm looking on my DVR guide, Collision is now listed at midnight tonight so I'll probably watch on tape delay before I go to bed tonight. But great news that they were able to work this out. Even for a short time.

You're not wrong, but superstars not wanting to work with other superstars for completely selfish reasons was pretty much Kobe Bryant's whole reason for living most of his career.  It's a pretty common in real sports, especially basketball and soccer.

Except all those players were under contract like these guys all are and worked together. Kobe and Shaq hated each other and won three rings. Elite are being petty asses and wearing it, especially when Punk, who a lot of folks like to point as being in the wrong for throwing the punch, has tried to reach out after the fact. If they are truly being this petty, I imagine the head of WBD seeing Punk as the draw for the fed is bruising their ego, too.

Another counterpoint.  No way to be sure Punk has reached out after the fact, as when he returned he immediately put down the Elite in a promo and his previous inability to reach out was the reason he became such a sour-puss that he tried to burn crucial parts of the company down.

The promo was vetted beforehand and the Bucks were on Twitter after joking in the old days they would  have come out with a "counterfeit bucks" shirt.  Everyone knew this was going to be Punk's "getting shit off his chest" promo and were okay with the contents.  I don't think anyone involved will be exchanging Christmas cards this year, but I also get the impression everyone involved knows this is going to be a gold mine for getting fan reactions like Dav'oh said.

I know they wanted to have Punk at the start of AEW but he wasn't sold on if it would succeed or not.

Plus to me there's always been a scorpion-and-the-frog thing about this whole ordeal, how are the Elite surprised that the guy famous for being a grumpy asshole turned out to be just that?

Funny thing, is Punk even admitted in that interview that dropped right before Collision that he knew he got hurt again in the match and that was what was fueling the fire at the press conference. It's some Butterfly Effect shit that if he doesn't tear his tricep then probably none of this ever happens.

Punk himself has said he doesn't know if was representatives of the Elite or a third party who told him not to attempt to contact them, so he apparently hasn't tried to contact them directly. Also, the Observer reported a couple of weeks ago that AEW has been more aggressive recently in trying to sign Omega and the Bucks to new deals and Dave tweeted that it was a TK call not to bring them to Chicago. Given all that, my guess is the company is trying to keep Punk and the Elite as far apart as possible until the latter are locked in contractually in order to minimize the chances of a blow-up that jeopardizes negotiations.

From the ESPN Article:

"Punk said he has not had any conversations with Omega or the Jacksons since the incident, although he has tried. He said when he has reached out, he has gotten "messages from lawyers saying, 'Do not contact this person.'" Punk said he is unclear whether those responses came at the request of legal representatives of Omega and the Jacksons or a third party."

Seems like he is saying that he did try to talk to them directly, although the para is a bit confusing.

Punk is 44 years old and The Young Bucks are 33 and 34 so come on this behaviour is absolutely unacceptable. Just behave like adults.

its a little more embarrassing, Matt is 38. I love the Bucks in ring but they have always come across as a little i dont know aloof or full of themself whenever i read about them backstage.

I can't wrap my head around how Tony Khan saw them and said to himself I want to run a company with them being one of the main attractions.

Because they are independently wealthy on account of knowing the modern business of wrestling better than most while also having a presence in a part of the fan base that had a big time following.

The problem with them is they were subject to overexposure when they actually had to do more than put themselves over. Which is why the “counterfeit Bucks” line landed so well.

Not intending to call you out or put you on the spot at all, and I don't like the Bucks much either (I like Nick, Matt I actively dislike, so they sort of cancel each other out), but it would be great if you could expound on "had to do more than put themselves over". At least on paper, they have put over many, many, many wrestlers in matches since AEW began. I don't mean put over in a Hulk Hogan/Scott Hall slip-on-a-banana-peel-style putting over, where the focus remains entirely on the loser and the winner actually gets nothing out of it. Like, their loss to the House of Black is the most badass the HoB have ever looked and felt, and made Brody King look like a, well, King. The Lucha Bros have never been as over as when they were beating the Bucks in matches. Even Private Party, for example, in the early days of AEW. Even when they win, they highlight the losing wrestlers, like Top Flight?

Or do you mean it in a more metaphorical, general sense? I am just genuinely interested in what you mean.
