My first memory is being aware of the impending match between Roddy Piper and Mr. T at Mania 2, and then watching the highlights of the event on the local sports news. They showed highlights of the Hogan vs Bundy cage match and I was pretty much hooked. By the summer of 86 I was watching all the wrestling I could plus collecting the mags

I think the comparison at the time was more that the Smackdown belt felt as important as the the IC belt was in the 80s and 90s in relation to the world title
-
So The WHOLE REASON they are going with two champions is because they need someone to cash in Money in the Bank this year? They have absolutely no other possible motivations for creating a second title?

Where the Big Boys Play #84 - Clash of the Champions 21
Ricky Jackson replied to soup23's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I believe Rude was supposed to be the challenger to Simmons at Starrcade 92 before he was hurt and Williams was a last minute sub Great show guys -
Personally I've enjoyed the Balor/Joe feud. First two Takeover matches were different, they added in the house show element, and it's culminating in the first ever NXT cage match, which will probably be epic

Well its not like NXT is being eliminated, it's just that the juniors and seniors are moving up to the big leagues and the team will now consist of last years sophmores and new crop of freshmen

Most ridiculous pro wrestling conspiracy theories
Ricky Jackson replied to goc's topic in Pro Wrestling
I think the theory supposes Vince didn't know about Savage and Steph when Savage left. And he wasn't fired -
Smackdown becomes NXT and NXT starts over from scratch or something?
-
I think (or hope) that Smackdown will be more or less the 2015 NXT roster, with maybe Cena as the old vet surrounded by all the up and coming kids.

I haven't even seen it and that's what I assumed it was based on the description

I loved Brooke doing the Flair strut

Love the new stable if that's the way they're going

Here's the fixed Philly show. Enjoy as treat before Extreme Rules!

"Bret Hart in WCW" Yep, this never felt right at all, even after being there a few years. Pretty much all the other WWF guys who came over fit in, but Bret totally felt like a Marvel character in a DC world or something.

Yeah. I'm re-uploading it, but it takes forever and I'm away from WiFi at the moment. Hopefully it will be ready by tomorrow

Audio on the Philly card is off. I'll try and fix it as soon as possible

Mystery Titans Theatre Friday Night Double Feature!!! First up, Parv returns, and he is joined by Kelly for a look at the October 21, 1984 WWF card from Maple Leaf Gardens. Marvel at some truly dreadful matches, the cause of the black wrestler (or is it "black wrestler", who the fuck knows) being set back several decades, and Andre the F'N Giant taking flight! Next, Kelly and Johnny head to the City of Brotherly Love for a crazy card from August 4, 1984. Fantasy booking dominates--Backlund as a punk at CBGB's, the Freebirds lasting longer than a month, and the phenomenon of Chungermania running wild and unbridled!
-
And I think it's good booking, nothing else. Nia is going to face Asuka at Takeover, so here's a big win for her. Now Bayley will have to go through Jax again to get to Asuka. She will get her rematch with Asuka presumably at the Takeover before Summerslam, where she should regain the strap. I think Bayley should stick around NXT until 2017, no need to rush.

Silly me for throwing around the sacred G-word so recklessly

Great match between Bayley and Nia Jax on this week's show
