  1. It will be interesting to see how much cash the owner of nwawrestling.com gets for the sale. The starting bid is 200 dollars.
  2. Crazier things have happened in pro wrestling. Consider this... Because of the India tour, deals, and etc. WWE probably wanted Jinder to go over in SOME fashion (DQ, count out, etc.) and Lesnar put the big kibosh on that. This of course forced WWE to give Lesnar someone (Styles) he wouldn't mind putting over so Smackdown gets the 'A Brand' recognition for a bit, Styles gets a Lesnar win, and Jinder benefits from ALL of it by being a two time champion, getting a win over Styles, not having to job to Lesnar, and being in a historic (granted on the wrong side) WWE moment that will be mentioned for years and part of any AJ Styles DVDs that come out in the future which thus then givens Mahal a royalty check.
  3. Doing a couple of rematchs and blow-offs at Wrestlemania is not necessarily a bad thing. That is true, but one of my biggest complaints concerning Mania is that it doesn't feel special. Mania this year could have easily had 3-4 matches that have never occurred in a WWE ring. It would have been interesting and some justification (if there is any at all) for a 7 hour show.
  4. WWE really doesn't want any Mania main events. This is the 3rd (4th) big Mania match done in this quarter (if it in fact goes down). Amazing.
  5. BFG was entertaining if nothing else. Everyone worked hard and the show was overall enjoyable. I could have done without the Gail Kim win, but that's a minor complaint. The REAL loser of the night was ADR. Unreal. The guy comes back from a domestic abuse suspension and cuts a promo making it seem like the company is wrong, its all a conspiracy, and HE is the victim in all of this. ADR's promo MIGHT have worked pre-social media era, but not now. Just bad all around. No one came off looking good and I am not sure why or how anyone gave that the green-light. I forgot BFG was happening tonight until random photos of portable toilets began showing up on my Twitter timeline...of course it had to do with TNA.
  6. 1,000 writers on staff and WWE still can't figure this out. WWE continuously runs into the same issue again and again. We saw this with "The Walkout" and other big angles over the last 10 years. There's no urgency or reason other than needing to sell an upcoming PPV. The 100 meatless and heatless HIAC matches are byproducts of this thinking. Since at least the 3rd week of April, WWE knew SS was on the schedule. I just always hate the Brand vs. Brand matches WWE produces as it all comes down to even-steven booking the night of the PPV ( OMG! Smackdown and Raw are tied 3-3 going into the main event) and WWE hand holding the audience because wrestling fans (despite watching the product all year) will magically forget which wrestler is on which brand unless that wrestler is wearing a t-shirt.
  7. The Lio pile-on was lame but expected. I am not sure what went through his mind or what he thought the realistic end result would be. Even IF it was all 100% a 'joke' in 'good fun'--what's so funny about someone losing his/her job? I can understand if Emma was caught pissing in the punch bowl at a company function or was let go due to her performing a shadow puppet show in Vince's office after hours. I am not in the OMGSUPERSERIZZBIZZ1!!1~! camp--but fuck! If he really was a dick on the indies, hopefully this is the even that straightens him out and he is able to grow. I hate to see young talented kids throw away a future and a REALLY good opportunity because they want to smoke weed, assault people, or in this case--not stay off of Twitter. I was never a fan of Summer. Never. Her release doesn't surprise me. Her in ring stuff was bad, but from all accounts she seems like a really nice girl who will give 100% with whatever she is given. I will not be surprised nor upset when she pops up somewhere in the near future. She really seems like one of those people who needs seasoning outside of WWE. Darren Young is talented, charismatic, and can work. He will be fine and hopefully he takes these next 2-3 years and do what Drew McIntyre, Jeff Hardy (post 2009 return)m and others have done. Now is definitely the time to MDYGA. Emma is going to be fine. She will be back in 2-3 years (before she is 32).
  8. Thoughts and feelings on the real life 2017 Brutus Beefcake/Hulk Hogan Twitter beef? Looks like this all came from Hogan possibly making moves on Beefcake's current wife and working to alienate Beefcake from Beefcake's daughter. It always such a shame when stuff like this happens. Does Hogan have some for other people's wives? Is that (and racism) his "thing"?
  9. Impact Pizza is the most excited I've been for the product in a long time. I am curious to see the madness behind it.
  10. I am 100% behind The Young Bucks running a gimmick where they show up to CMLL, AAA, WWE, GFW, etc. and just ask "Wrestler X" to come outside and take a photo. I want a photo booth, themes, lights, marker and all. Even a cardboard cut out with the face of the wrestler cut out so fans can come up and poke his/her head inside in order to get a photo op with The Young Bucks. If Evolve was bigger, I would love to see Gabe's meltdown.
  11. I'm not sure what people expect Matt to do as a singles with Jeff out for 6 months. I don't even know if they should even have him in the ring until Jeff gets back because he's been looking like a guy whose body is just running on fumes lately. V1 and Broken Matt both came from Matt's mind. I am sure if WWE wanted to keep Matt hot and interesting for these six months--everyone involved can come up with something good. Which means Matt will just be a place holder until Jeff comes back and there is a ladder match at Mania.
  12. Usos/New Day was a great opener to the show and didn't feel too contrived. There was personality and no sacrifice of a heated exchange and will to win. Loved it. Watching Roode/Ziggler wrestle to silence was pretty sad. I think they would both work best as a heel tag team and not feuding with each other. As a man who did not enjoy the Natalie/Charlotte match from NXT and believe it to be one of the most overrated WWE matches of the last 5 years--this PPV match did nothing for me. I still believe Natalie is employed based purely off of her name and relationship to the Hart family. Cringeworthy at her worse and passable at her best. The main event was bad. Everything that I hate about HIAC all rolled up into one match. Breaking out of the cage, spots for the sake of spots (with absolutely no urgency), and of course the mandatory cage dive. The Zayn turn was interesting and unexpected. We shall see what happens with that. As far as Rusev is concerned...I feel bad for the guy. He is a good worker and good promo and yet WWE can't really find anything for him to do. Wrestling Randy Orton at a PPV isn't considered 'something'. Not to mention, wrestling Orton is a really bad spot for anyone to be in. I will wish Rusev had the spot Jinder currently holds. Matches against Nakamura, Styles, Sami, and a motivated Orton could have been really fun. Toss in a few "Bulgarian Challenges" (jobber matches) and usual Rusev greatness (receiving the key to the city) and it would be a reign to remember!
  13. My question is this, can Dave PROMISE to not have yet another WWE formatted wrestling promotion? The long promos to open the show, authority figures taking up tons of TV time, the consistent rotation of non-wrestlers (announcers, ref, etc.) stepping into the ring or being featured heavily in a top angle ( i.e. JB vs. Josh Matthews). These are three things that I am tired of seeing and Dave has shown that he knows nothing outside of that. I would love for him and his team to prove me wrong.
  14. The 15 (?) on one beat up made everyone, except Enzo, look like complete shit. Enzo is talking shit so its time for a 15-on-1 beatdown? They all looked like nerds launching that assault. And the mannerisms were WAY too campy. No one came out looking good from that segment. Enzo becoming the champion feels like when Hornswoggle won the title and it went a way shortly after that. Enzo is the last king of 205 Live before that Kingdom becomes dust.
  15. This kinda (but not really) reminded me of Shane Douglas and Al Snow having this TERRIBLE main event match on an ECW PPV back in the 90's and after the match the locker room comes out and hoists Snow (?) on their shoulders as if there was some big triumph. Even in context, the WM10 celebration was completely out-of-place based on the match that just went down. Cena doing the corny look behind the shoulder routine was swiss cheese on top of a double grilled cheese sandwich. Actually, that sounds pretty good--so I will just say the Cena routine sucked.
  16. Truly one of the best to ever do it. No one has come close. There are so few personalities in pro wrestling that can do all that he did and do it so convincingly and with such apparent ease. Just amazing all around. His HOF speech is one of the best of all time and his shout out to Monsoon but at the HOF, NItro, and every other place is always touching to see and hear. When I think of pro wrestling managers--I think Bobby Heenan.
  17. Even if they did fly in, I don't think Vince or anyone in Corporate would really raise an eyebrow if Charlotte and company decide to go down to Florida during MYC on WWE's dime. I would assume all of them would most likely put two-and-two together. I doubt the 4 on 4 goes down without a ton of smoke and mirrors. Can Shafir pass a concussions test?
  18. WWE is doing something right with Braun. People wanted and NEEDED Punk, Bryan, Owens, Ziggler and some others to be champion. People wanted and NEEDED Orton, Kane, Big Show, and Cena to stay away from the top title. Braun is the only guy on the roster where people are digging so much that there is no talk of the title. There is no reason to fuck this up at all. Braun can easily continue everything he is doing until the big coronation match at next year's SummerSlam (or something). It will be interesting to see how WWE books Braun as champion. Will WWE book Braun as Big Show or book Braun the way they SHOULD have booked Big Show? Braun is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete and shouldn't do random jobs on Raw, wear a diaper, participate in a battle rap with John Cena, cut a promo while taking a shit, etc. Its simple...let's see how quick WWE fucks it up.
  19. Outside of advertisement shares and licensing of the program, I am guessing TNA doesn't make any real money anywhere else. If WWE lost all of the TV rights today, other aspects of the business will keep WWE afloat. Merch, ticket sales, DVD/Media sales etc.
  20. For better or for worse...Sexy Star has responded. I feel the same way Don Lemon felt after he watched Trump's Arizona rally. https://www.cagesideseats.com/2017/9/4/16253058/sexy-star-story-rosemary-injury-incident-triplemania
  21. Its never a good thing when a news headline is immediately met with 'Why?".
  22. Because Angle, Bryan, and Shane need to get over.
  23. TNA killed the product for me a long time ago and there is no going back. However, with the clips and everything I see-they have been going in the right direction for a considerable amount of time. GFW has pretty much burnt every single bridge there is to burn and thus there are no really shocking debuts on the horizon. That was pretty much TNA's bread-and-butter back-in-the-day. With that (and other) gimmicks out the window and with Dixie gone for good--things are really turning around. There is a lot of getting back to basics and I cannot get upset with a company trying its best to create stars after losing Hardys, Drew Mc, Maria, etc. and potentially losing Lashley and ADR. Its a long journey ahead, but aside from minor hiccups--its not all a complete shit storm.
  24. Its amazing that a wrestler who is pretty much universally panned online has had such a lasting and unsung influence on WWE (and pro wrestling's ) popularity in India. Sounds like, with no understatements or hyperbole, that Great Khali broke down barriers and help expand markets. Sounds like a HOF in my book.
  25. Yep and if Styles get his match with Nakamura, the top three matches of Mania 35 will be absolutely awesome!
