    WWE TV 8/28-9/4

If the fans really do decide then Im sure Triple H would have dropped the belt during the Attitude Era and not go it back. Its one thing for fans to cheer and boo wrestlers but they sure as hell don't book outcomes. Why do I get the feeling WWE just trawled a bunch of message boards, looked up what online fans dont like about Cena & Reigns and just used it in a promo.
  2. Been listening to the Jim Cornette Podcast and he was talking about the decline of WCW and how Starrcade had big numbers in the early days but they dropped once they left Greensboro, North Carolina. He then discussed Vince McMahon who had told PPV Providers that if they carried Starrcade 87 he would not let them carry Survivor Series 87 or Wrestlemania 4. Why didn't the PPV providers just tell Vince to get stuffed, he doesnt dictate to them and give Vince the choice to choose. I mean if your trying to get your company noticed and you be awkward and don't get it shown then all you are doing is getting more publicity for the rival company. At a scenario JCP gets double ratings and Survivor Series bombs due to not many providers showing it. One other thing I saw some Missy's Manor interviews, so googled it up and it says it wasent aired so wondered if thats the case how come its out there on the net.
  3. According to PWInsider, two long-requested classic shows could well be on their way to WWE Network. The site reports that both Sunday Night Heat and WCW Thunder are earmarked to hit the service “by the end of the year”. There’s no further info however on how much of the shows we’ll actually see by that point. Thunder could feasibly be completed in 2 drops, while Heat ran for a decade and won’t be done that easily. PWI also says that a Madusa special is planned for release to coincide with the Mae Young Classic live finals on September 12th. Meanwhile, the “2nd season” of Storytime is reportedly going to start airing next month. Considering the drought of original programming we’ve had this week, the return of the animated show may be more welcome than usual. Finally and speaking of missing original content, the latest on the Steamboat/Flair/Sting episode of Table for 3 is that WWE apparently have no intention of airing it until The Nature Boy is in better health.
  4. I doubt it. Meltzer said Reigns/Brock is back on for Mania. God knows why.
  5. Did he ever explain as to why he never got a job with WWE in 2001? At the time dirtsheets said he was in negociations but he kept calling the office for a answer and in the end they decided not to give him a job.
  6. Its a shame that the attitude era segments don't cover smackdown. No idea why they only appear for 98 & 99 Raws alough I did notice one for 2000 but considering Raw after the show has a couple shows they were filmed.
  7. Looking back now do you feel it was a regret that Test didn't win the WWF Title at Survivor Series 1999? He had history with Triple H after screwing with his wedding and he picked up a few victories over Triple H and he seemed the logical choice to be the next big star. Did his push get stopped for some reason as it seemed they just tried to job him out before he went on to T & A and Big Show instead won the gold.
  8. Flair vs. SteamboatSting vs. Callous Pillman vs. Liger Benoit vs. Booker series Sting/Flair January title change and April cage match, the weirdo WarGames from July, Pillman/Liger from December, among many things I'd love to see from the "push into Meadowlands" 1991. Lots of Omni stuff from 1991 too, like Flair/Pillman 3 falls in May, and Sting/Rude 30+ minutes from November. They seem to have taped plenty of the Omni shows, so who knows. Flair/Windham multi-cam and complete from Crockett Cup 1987 would be nice. They probably should have done a "Flair/Steamboat through the decades" Network set already. (I guess this is pre-Turner) Anything from the 1993 European tour. Any of the house show hotshot title changes from 1998 (I realize these were almost certainly not filmed). The very stacked Internet audio streaming house shows from LA, Boston, and Tampa 1998 (same). Was that a camera crew I saw during the Hogan/Sting Cage match? There was deff more than one camera it seemed. One other thing I watched a QVC episode that had a few WCW stars on it and when they had a different star on there appeared to be footage shown from a WCW house show that was obviously filmed by WCW. No idea if the whole event was filmed.
  9. Probably their match at Wrestlemania for the US title.
  10. WrestlingDVDnews didnt give it a great review. They complained about the short 3 mins matches or that most matches ending in a DQ or Countout. Im guessing the reviewer isnt a old school fan because older fans know squash matches lasted short time. Personally I could care less about what the reviewer says about it. I will buy it regardless because I love old school matches and I want to see the Toxic Turtles, Earthquake Evans, Bret & Shawn tagging up and some rare Hulk Hogan matches. To be honest Id rather watch this than another Biography set filled with matches Ive seen 200 times. How many more times do I need to buy DVDs that have Austin/Rock from the Wrestlemania? I get its to showcase their best matches but Id rather see unseen stuff.
  11. Ill be glad when its all over so we can have a real World Champion!
  12. Not sure if anyone noticed this but was in the news a while ago
  13. Speaking of WCW and things being unaired do you reckon WWE has the stuff that never made it to air like the interview with Sid as WCW Champion after he beat Vader at Starrcade 93? I know Flair was the replacement that won the title but you hear over the years about stuff being filmed in advance. The Sid taped as champion stuff is just a myth. The July tapings that Sid was part of only ran through 11/20, a few weeks before Starrcade. The November 12th taping for the end of the month and post-Starrcade was more than two weeks after the stabbing and suspension, Sid wasn't around for those at all. He had already taped some BattleBowl promos that made it to TV, and the edited match where the Kongs took him out after the Clash aired. His run in and subsequent match with one of the Kongs never aired since they knew he was done. Those two things could possibly be in their tapes. Not sure a Sid-Kong squash would count as a hidden gem, but be interesting to see nonetheless. Were there any other stuff they filmed years ago from that time period? If the Sid thing was a myth when you read various magazines and they say about people filmed with the belts in Disney because the crowd wasen't wrestling fans I was wondering who else might have had taped stuff. Im sure there was a tag team who did this but can't remember there name.

  15. Apart from the Rollins/Ambrose tag match and the Cena/Corbin match I absolutely hated Summerslam including the preshow. Im sure others enjoyed it but I absolutely hated how most of the heels went over. Nakamura should have won the WWE title instead of the same screwy ending and about time Brock dropped the title.
  16. So are we getting Shield reunion tonight where Rollins & Ambrose screw everyone so Reigns gets the belt?

    NXT talk

So I guess Moolah's title run doesnt count that she held for years.
  18. Wendy Barlow, fiancee to WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, took to Facebook on Wednesday and confirmed that Flair did not have colon surgery as has been reported. Her full statement with an update on Ric's condition can be read below: Just want to give an update to my friends and Family as I have been unable to talk on the phone without crying and just feel shocked over events....I took Ric to the Hospital Friday night with Severe Abdominal pain. From that moment on it all seems like a nightmare...multiple Organ problems. Not to go into too many details I want everyone to know he still needs Prayers as he is still in Critical Condition. And No he did not have Colon Surgery....It was another Surgery! I don't know how the Media comes up with their stories. I have been by his side since Friday and will continue to make sure he is getting the best care possible Thanks for all of the support and Love As noted, Flair was placed in a medically induced coma on Monday and underwent successful surgery that same day.
  19. Its a shame Creative, Vince, Stephanie or whoever booked it this way. I don't think Id be too happy if it was me that got screwed out of a World Title when others past years got a legimate shot at the title.
  20. So they are bringing Shamrock back? Or just GFW BS?

I don't really see why Jinder should even have the belt just because WWE is touring India. I mean they would never do the same thing with the UK so don't really see the big deal in it. Even if they are trying to get a deal done over there just making Jinder champion for the sake of it seems pointless. Id rather Cena have just stayed Champion. They are already established in the U.K. and they did use British Bulldog as a draw for Summerslam 92. Don't underestimate civic and ethnic pride. Well I was using the UK as a example, I could have said any country. Doesn't change the fact Jinder was a jobber for months before the push.
  22. There needed to be a failed Cash in. Having every person win the title except Cena just made it too predictable. What WWE should have done was have Corbin win the title to defend at Summerslam against Cena but Nakamura complains because he has a legimate title shot so they turn it into a Triple Threat match. Cena/Corbin & Naka/Jinder matches seem so unappealing. Id probably preferred Naka/Cena to headline Summerslam instead where they never had the 1st match on Smackdown. Should have been saved for the PPV.
  23. Impact doesn't have favourites? If they didnt have Favourites Patron wouldnt have been given the title as soon as he came in.

  25. If I had a co worker say that to me I would have blasted him with a Stone Cold Stunner!
