This is one of my favourite matches featuring Hulk. I remember the match airing on Eurosport and Hogan had the WWF title with him alough one good classic match I did like was from 2003 I believe when he did a 20 minute match against Chono. I cant remember the date but I think it was called something like Orange Clash wasent it?

Introducing your Kids to Classic Wrestling
iamthedoctor replied to Smack2k's topic in Pro Wrestling Mostly
Im not sure about stuff being dated boring to kids. Kids tend to still love kids shows like Button Moon, 80s Sooty or Rainbow. NickJR was even airing them at one time and the kids absiolutely loved them and were glued to the screen. I suppose each child is different so some will like it and some dont. My boy still has a fondness to Super mario Bros on the NES & things like Pandemonium or Crash Bandicoot and probably enjoys them more than current games like Plants vs Zombies or Rayman Legends. -

How much footage is out there for the 1995 Hall of Fame? Reason I ask is I know WWF did a piece of a highlight package on Raw but when I saw the odd HOF off 24/7 some had inductions. I know a fan filmed the event but wondered what kind of official stuff WWE has. -
Advantages of watching 'live' verses Classic footage

I think the element of surprise was more important when there wasn't so much tv to keep up with. Also, the possibility of a surprise debut, like during the Monday night wars, is virtually nil. For me Ultimate Warrior returning at the end of Wrestlemania 8 for me excelled any suprise in the Attitude era as it was someone no one had seen in ages. Then some fan had a sign in the crowd saying bring back the warrior. Did WWF spoil the suprise or something to the crowd? -
I would have thought Mania VI would have drawn bigger due to Hogan & Warrior battling in the main event. I am glad mania V did more as it was the first Mania PPV I saw live.

Regarding WWE C shows if they replaced these shows with a type of Wrestling Roundtable but did it in the style of Prime Time Wrestling with matches inserted would it work in 2015? Each week they could include a classic match into the 2 hr show.

A bit like any current star Sgt. Slaughter put over on Raw in the past decade and then they get squashed months later. -

Introducing your Kids to Classic Wrestling
iamthedoctor replied to Smack2k's topic in Pro Wrestling Mostly
This is a perfect topic as I got mine into classic wrestling ages ago. Basically when he was one or two we would be watching stuff like HBK/Owen from IYH or Hogan/Savage from WMV. Not at that age he would be too young to remember it so I basically just watched my fav matches and I do recall watching 2006 stuff mind you this was the same year so probably dont count. About 4 or so years ago when is was 5 I thought id collect what stuff is out there and go on a rewatch project. He was 5 back then and I thought a great time to start was 1998. Whenever I had some spare time it would be watch Raw and the PPV that happened. When I got to the end of 2000 I gave up on the project and felt maybe I should have done it properly with what footage I have. So him by then being a year older and taking more interest in it and well WWE 13 did help on the Xbox because you could play as alot of guys in the Attitude era. So I started from 1995 and worked through all the Raws and PPVs, and as I got to 1998 & 1999 I felt add WCW to the mix along with Nitro and WCW PPVs along with Heat & Thunder but buy Sept 1999 I thought I wanted him to go back further and experience the Hulkamania era because watching WCW made him a Hogan fan and thought see Hogan better then. So we started with 1984 Championship wrestling and it didnt take long to get through that year onto Mania and the SNME shows and the rest of that year and because I wanted him to see Hogan regulary defending the belt I had to include house shows where Hogan only defended the title. Now we have finally finished the show from 1986 and he must have enjoyed this era because when they brought out the WWE Supercard game he really wanted to get Tito Santana and if I hadent put this era on he probably wouldnt have been interested. He was chuffed getting a Red Hulkamania shirt for xmas and it seems now he wants the hulkamania workout game that is on the 86 commercials. Probably impossible to get with it being 2015. So we have finally got through the Big Event 86 and we will soon be onto 1987. Ive not a clue how to put NWA/WCW into the watching but I may just start that when I get to 1988. As far as current wrestling goes well I dont have Sky Sports so that pretty much rules out anything current era, and want him watching decent stuff rather than boring current stuff. He knows who guys like Rusez and Cody are probably due to the games and stuff unless its watching Rock smacking Rusev about or Hogan and Bryan posing. -

How does that work? Ive wanted a Sheik autograph for years but no idea how to contact the guy. Does he have a official site as wiki just lists a fan store. On a side note Ive got Marc Mero's autograph. In fact I wasent expecting him to send me two. I just mentioned my mum being a wrestling fan and a big fan of Mero and he just asked her name and he sent a Marc Mero one to her and a Johnny B Badd one to me. It was very kind of him, me being in the UK and him mailing it to me free of charge. -

I dont think there was many places that we could find out what happened as wrestling magazines were pretty much out of date time we got them. The PPVs were odd. One minute they aired on Sky One the next its Sky Movies + and after that Sky Sports. Wish they could make their mind up. -
Yes it was on Raw.

So Im now into watching Championship Wrestling in July 1986 now which I feel is a sad time that in 5 more shows to go and it will be finished. Ive enjoyed the run of it and I was suprised how quick I went through this show. If there was plenty of All Star wrestling about maybe the show could have lasted longer but at least I have Challenge & Superstars to look forward to in a weeks time. The next match im up to is Hogan & Orndorff/Moondogs which we all know is Paul's heel turn which I never understood why. Well yeah I know why because he wanted a title shot but a year later he is teaming with Hogan which is even more strange.

Name of worker: Jake the snake Roberts Promotion (and year): WWF 1990 Link to promo: Why you think it's great: Jake was playing some great mind games with Dibiase saying about they could go in the bad and it wouldnt be a Python. Sadly I couldnt find a link to the promo but Jake basically showed diff snakes like a cobra or a rattlesnake. It was awesome stuff. -

Just watching the 1986 Slammy Awards last week and noticed they did a instrumental version of Real American. Its not the same one they did on Real American story and curious as to whether this got released anywhere. Id love to hear the thing in full. -

The main problem today is that there are far too many spoilers around the internet that basically tell you whats going to happen. Now in the day of Magazines I dont recall any of this happening. -
Can this only be viewed on a PC or is it on other media platforms like Roku?

Pretty much any licensed music is going to get dubbed over since they'd need to pay out a new round of royalties for it. Did WWE even use Licensed songs apart from PPV themes?

The Breaking Point: What would cause you to stop watching current WWE?
iamthedoctor replied to Fantastic's topic in WWE
I really dont know. All of my favourites from the past are gone. I think what kept my interest over the past few years was when I would hear a Legend coming back for a appearance. I was never a fan of Punk or Bryan at all, dunno why I just never seemed interested in those two. I suppose once Cena goes and maybe Show, Kane or someone I enjoyed watching wrestling back in the 90s once they are all gone id probably stop watching and just be 100 percent on classic matches but I dont think anything would really stop me watching. When wrestlings in your blood its hard to stop watching. -
Now that WWE can use the term WWF uncensored and the Scratch Logo blurring is no more is there anything else edited in regards to the Attitude Era? I know Undertakers American Bad Ass theme by Kid Rock is dubbed over but was suprised Rollin is completely Unedited but anything else out there edited between 1998 - 2003?

1995 time he could have been booked a little better. I really enjoyed his matches against Rick Rude over the US belt in 1993 alough I never saw the series they had on Saturday Night as we never got that in the UK but the previous encounters I saw from a PPV/TV Special and the match on Worldwide were pretty impressive. I also enjoyed his feud with Austin as well and its a shame that he got stuck with feuding with the Parker stable in 94. I do feel after he dropped the US belt he should have been pushed to a main event level.

If they are going to put Bryan in the WWE title match at mania anyway by turning it into a Fatal Four Way after some screwjob at FastLane why couldnt they have just booked him to win the Rumble anyway? While storylines are important week by week now 10 years from now it would be a shame looking through history that he would never win a Rumble as it just seems each year dont have him win the Rumble but have him in a Title match at Mania. Im probably in a minority here but the Rumble winner should face the champion in a one on one match at mania.
