Yes, it’s absolutely still an issue in American sports.

[2000-11-19-WWF-Survivor Series] The Rock vs RIkishi
Zoo Enthusiast replied to soup23's topic in November 2000
I really like this match. Very fun Rock performance and I loved Rikishi’s exaggerated selling like the flip bump on the clothesline as well as on the People’s Elbow finish. Probably not quite good enough that I’d go with a full **** boy on it but hella fun. -
I literally didn’t even know who that was so I didn’t even bother watching it.

Shoots Review and Preview thread
Zoo Enthusiast replied to BruiserBrody's topic in Megathread archive
The “Shoot Conversations with Chris Hero” episode with Mojo Rawley is really good. Seems like a really terrific guy. -
I'm definitely a "full shows" fan. I like context and when a show has ebbs and flows to it. I enjoy watching shows I don't totally remember and seeing the video packages and whatnot, too. I listen to enough podcasts that cover various shows that I typically use them as motivation to watch a certain show before I listen so I make sure I catch all the jokes, etc.

[1997-08-09-ECW-Born To Be Wired] Terry Funk vs Sabu (Barbed Wire)
Zoo Enthusiast replied to Loss's topic in August 1997
I agree with others re: the finish being weak. The match is just too long and IMO it peters out during the stretch run. The barbed wire stuff at the end feels like it’s in slow motion and lots of spots in the latter minutes of the match are too contrived. -
I was hoping he’d stop wrestling and devote all his free time to saving the children with Drake Wuertz.

Hell yeah. Cowboy Shit.

[2014-01-26-WWE-Royal Rumble] Randy Orton vs John Cena
Zoo Enthusiast replied to Loss's topic in January 2014
Not a *huge* fan of either of these guys but it was so lame to hear the crowd shit on what was a perfectly acceptable match that was mostly killing time before the Rumble match.- 2 replies

[2014-01-26-WWE-Royal Rumble] Daniel Bryan vs Bray Wyatt
Zoo Enthusiast replied to Loss's topic in January 2014
Re-watching the '14 Rumble for the first time since watching it live, I think. This may be my favorite WWE opener ever. Just an awesome, nasty match and what will likely wind up being Bray's career match. Both guys were fantastic and the crowd was hot. Not much more you can ask for.- 6 replies

I felt the same way. For someone who was being “pushed down our throats,” he… wasn’t.

Or, the more likely thing is that Brock just comes on to talk about hunting and Flair just does his usual Flair bullshit while Rogan says "whoa, that's crazy" and asks if Ric has ever fucked with DMT.

Watching Spring Stampede '94 for the first time in ~8 years and had forgotten what an outstanding match this is. There are few wrestlers I have ever enjoyed watching more than a bloodied Dustin on his game.

Is there a really good FMW comp floating around out there? I feel like I should see more of it.

Fair enough. It just felt really rushed at the end.

This felt like one that definitely needed two episodes. The post-Onita/Hayabusa on top period could have used more fleshing out.

“I’m Arn Anderson and all that that implies!”

Truly a terrifying thought. I can’t fight my WWE-trained brain telling me it will absolutely happen.

Definitely a steep drop-off from Dynamite, but not really any way it couldn’t be. Would be cool with Punk never doing a rana again. That was awful and killed the match for me. Liked the Elite/Jurassic match until the finishing stretch after JB and Christian got thrown off the ramp. I’m sure it’s an extremely unpopular opinion here but I want to see more Marko Stunt spots and/or matches. The second hour was mostly pretty rough but the main event was enjoyable for what they were going for and Homicide was a neat addition to it. I can’t fathom literally anyone caring about the Hardy Family Office, though if one of them *has* to be working a match with Orange Cassidy, I’m glad it’s Jack Evans. I’m one of the few who enjoys the Dan Lambert schtick but that post-match with the MMA run-ins was horrendous and I wish he was attached to someone more useful than Sky & Page.

Kanyon episode was so sad. The saddest stories to me are wrestlers who really LOVE the biz and wind up getting chewed up and spit out by it and are never able to shake that. RIP.

A podcast I listen to calls it “Cody Island” and it’s pretty much the worst place you can be. I personally enjoyed this Black match, mostly due to the Arn schtick portion. Don’t have much interest in anything Cody-related at the moment and feel he gets lost in the shuffle on a roster getting steady infusions of far more talented wrestlers, but he has hooked me before when he’s had a meatier storyline. The problem is that I *think* this was also supposed to be one of those and, if so, it missed the mark.

That was a great night of wrestling TV.

I mean, they did sign him back in the day for a reason.
