  1. He feels like the jock trying to get with the goth girl by being nice to her friends.
  2. I love Billy Gunn as wrestling's best stepdad.

  4. Also she wears pink.
  5. This is such a cool thread to read. I am so jealous. Thank you for posting it.
  6. I loved this one too. I was disappointed when it got cancelled in New Orleans but it worked out for the best because it got to steal the show on this card. WALTER was just a monster and the perfect opponent for an underdog like Darby. I thought it was a great match as I was watching but the finish caught me totally by surprise and kicked it up to something special. I really hope there's a rematch.
  7. 3 hours, though there's a 10-15 minute intermission between the tag team matches and the tournament matches.
  8. I think it makes sense storyline-wise. They've established a clear-if-convoluted path for Catrina where to get the medallion she has to get the gauntlet so the casket match is really nowhere near the end goal for her. Considering the past history, I think her idea was to sacrifice Mil Muertes to Fenix so she could bring him back even stronger again and then go after King Cuerno but Jeremiah Crane getting involved is going to screw all of that up somehow. Whatever happens, it's going to be a lot more about the aftermath than the actual outcome.
  9. I wish you the very best of luck with this.
  10. I think it depends on if it is successful. For somebody besides just WWE, that is. USA is just holding on to what they already have and Fox is just trading UFC for WWE. The equation as far as pro wrestling's current popularity is concerned remains unchanged. I doubt there was anyone else with heavy interest in pro wrestling programming that lost out on the bidding. Perhaps Facebook but I can't imagine Facebook was so impressed with their experiment with WWE that they'd be sold on repeating it without WWE attached. I suppose if being on Fox opens WWE up to a whole new audience, it could get people not currently considering pro wrestling to change their minds but I don't really know what broadcast network exposure will really mean in 2019.
  11. I don't understand the comparison myself but Mortal Kombat was brought up a lot as an inspiration for Lucha Underground.

    Promos in WWE

I think Ted DiBiase was probably the most hated heel ever to the closed captioners. I think "Bebeyassy" was the closest I ever saw one get to correct.
  13. There's a user on sporcle that made a lot of these. https://www.sporcle.com/games/thedirtyd0zen/wwe-roster-2000-mixed-word
  14. #1. No contest. I almost wish this would actually happen because there are times I'll track down a match I think I have never seen before and get a few minutes into it before I realize I already saw it.
  15. What are the better matches of Jericho's career?
  16. The Fellini discussion on this week's episode was the most inside-the-wrestling-bubble thing I have ever experienced.
  17. This was so much fun. I loved the story they did last year with Kojima being the selfless best friend gifting his spot to Tenzan but seeing his G1 return just illustrates how much better things are going to be with him involved. Juice has come a very long way since starting here and it is nice to get to see him shine. I don't know if I have ever seen the Tomakaze look more brutal. He just did a flat back drop on poor Kojima's head. That post-match chant was well earned.
  18. I think the camera angle hurt the finish for me. Once I realized what they were going for I thought it was pretty cool but it took a second to figure out what had happened there. I am into the idea of this being Tama's breakout year in New Japan and I hope he can deliver against the higher caliber of opponents he has yet to come.
  19. I really, really liked the final powerbomb Ibushi used to win. That was cool. Nothing else really stood out to me as exceptional though. Card placement may have been a factor as it came both before and after matches I liked more but I don't think I will be revisiting it in isolation to give it another chance.
  20. I cannot wait for the eventual rematch! I have always been sort of lukewarm on Zack Sabre Jr. but he was really great as the ruthless Suzuki disciple. The injury and the loss put Tanahashi in jeopardy and I am hoping it will add an extra level of drama to the rest of his matches. My only real knock against this one was how little the crowd seemed to get into it but this was not the time for the hero to make the big comeback. I am so looking forward to when it finally does come though.
  21. This was the tournament match I was most looking forward to seeing. I was hoping it would be like Suzuki's match with A.J. Styles from a few years ago which I thought was fantastic. Instead they went in a different direction with it. I still liked it a lot but it did not live up to my very, very high expectations. I hope Suzuki goes on a rampage from here and scores a ton of points because that Omega/Okada match in August is casting a pretty big shadow on the rest of B Block. I will never say no to Bad Luck Fale being a monster and tearing little guys up though.
  22. This was a blast. Ishii is so much fun to watch. I am hoping he gets a big win at some point to propel him into something meaningful. Goto always peaks during G1. The rope run xchange-ups are something that I think probably looks a lot easier to do than it is.
  23. I found this one a little boring. Makabe looks like he is in pretty good shape for this tournament but he did not really wrestle like it. I think that this was really the best chance for either of these two to shine and the match didn't live up to my expectations despite a promising start. I am sort of over seeing people wriggle out of the early Bad Luck Falls. The actual finish they came up with was pretty cool though.
  24. I really wanted Yuji to win this one but no luck. I am still holding out hope he has a good tournament. YOSHI-HASHI has always been a guilty pleasure but I prefer it when he has the chance to come out of nowhere and get wild and bombastic with his offense. This match was not really that. It's hard not to be excited for the first match of G1 though!
  25. Can anyone clarify about his InVasion idea? Never seen that shoot but read he would've pulled back the curtain had he been given the book for that. In his story, Vince McMahon would order WCW wrestlers to throw their matches against WWF wrestlers but Ric Flair would inspire the WCW wrestlers to try to purposefully injure those opponents during the matches.
