I'm almost sure it came up in the infamous Diss the Diva bit from the first Diva Search.

I hadn't heard that news. Hot balls, that week is going to be insane, as far as wrestling goes for me.

Ryback had, I believe, a staph infection in his knee. It was supposed to be him defending vs. Big Show and Miz.
-
Looks like a paper copy of the memo from a few years ago hit Reddit today. I'll put them in a spoiler box, because there's a ton of them.

It was a WCW show in Corpus Christi, May 1991. I don't have the full show and it's not on Graham's site, but the main event was Flair vs El Gigante. Next match down was Sting vs Arn Anderson, and Pillman was there (maybe vs Windham), he slapped my hand and I thought it was the coolest thing. Steve Austin, before he'd debuted on TV, squashed Sam Houston.

I actually thought that Alexa's heel promo from a few weeks ago was pretty solid. You could still say a work in progress but a big step up from the few times I'd heard her talk as a face.

Spike was awesome, though. A really fun worker and super charismatic. Cheeseburger hasn't shown that much.

Holly considers that his best match, FWIW.

I'd rather watch peak Dustin, but I think his career had too many valleys to put him over Austin here.

All Time Favourite/Best Tag Team and Why?
topropepodcast replied to JaymeFuture's topic in Pro Wrestling
I think my favorite team might be the Steiner Brothers. Just this team unlike anything else I'd ever seen whenever I started watching, just these two jacked up dudes in singlets who would drop dudes on their fuckin' heads. It was great. Yeah, as an adult I can go back and look at match structure, selling, etc. but the kid in me says SUPLEX, SUPLEX, TOP ROPE DDT. Just love it. As far as best, I tend to lean MX version 2. Not that Bobby and Loverboy aren't great, but I like the extra speed that Lane added. -
I feel like, story-telling wise, John Cena just gave way too much to Ryder tonight, given how he's presented when he's on TV. He's constantly been portrayed as the worst guy on the roster, only on the show to lose in 30 seconds to heel du jour.

If there was any way I could have gotten it before Elimination Chamber, I would buy it tonight. Instead, I'll wait until they're like 2 for 1 or something, and probably just try to pick up a KO at the show. Liked the show a fair amount, although it really kind of felt like a two match show. i don't think Breeze-Balor really went anywhere besides the bigger spots. Lynch-Banks was tremendous, and although the story wasn't much different from their first NXT match, Owens-Zayn was a lot of fun while it lasted.

I'll be at the show in Corpus Christi for sure, but won't travel to San Antonio for something like this.

Sabin not working the cut was something I honestly didn't even really think about until you guys brought it up. It did feel like the match kind of stalled a little for me, in spite of really like O'Reilly's timings on the comeback and a lot of the babyface hope spots and loved Fish willing him into the ring to beat the countout. It's something that seems a little smaller, where as heels, he'd go and physically help him. I also liked that after the, for lack of a better phrase, weird response to the KRD reveal, that they got some real heel heat for this match, the only real heel responses on the show save everything Elgin-related and the Decade.

I have to admit, I'm kind of baffled by the 19 love. Maybe it's the fact that I originally turned the show off after HHH/Booker and watched the rest on tape a few days later, but I think the undercard's fairly solid, but for me, the show's really kind of a 2 match show in Angle/Lesnar and Rock/Austin. The Jericho/Michaels match does nothing for me, nor does the middle aged men streetfight.

For anyone who didn't see it, the end of SmackDown. https://vine.co/v/O956Jm0ruzn By this point, I have no idea what direction they're going with Bryan. Are they going to try to turn him heel? There seems to be no other path that would make sense.

cubs, then you'd be a good person to ask on this... do they do any retakes of the in-ring stuff? It definitely felt like, for example, the Katrina entrance this week looked like it came from at least two different takes.

I don't get this week's episode until Saturday on UniMas, but I definitely enjoy most of the show on a weekly basis. I wonder how much more money they're spending now that they're reshooting all of the angles in Spanish. Before, everything was subtitled.

This appears to be the Amarillo loop. Monday - El Paso Tuesday - Odessa Wednesday - Lubbock Thursday - Amarillo Friday - Abilene Saturday - Hereford Sunday - Albuquerque 1640 miles a week. That's just insane.

[1992-04-14-WWF-Munich, GER] Randy Savage vs Shawn Michaels
topropepodcast replied to Loss's topic in April 1992
This is in really good quality on the new Macho Man set, so it was nice to go back and watch it. I remember a lot of versions floating around being a little on the rough side. Savage is just tremendous here. The selling is top notch, and the climb for the elbow is fucking beautiful. With Shawn, I liked the aggression, but it felt like at points, offensively, he got a little lost, and that's why there were... 4(or was it just 3?) figure four spots, because he wasn't sure where else to go.- 28 replies

Women's wrestling, could it ever be successful in the US?
topropepodcast replied to Grimmas's topic in Pro Wrestling
I think there's a decent chance of a NXT Takeover headlined by a Women's Title match in 2015. -
The last few updates have made my on-demand REALLY spotty.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
topropepodcast replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
On the talk of Titanes, Argentina tried a pseudo-remake of it a few years ago, called 100% Lucha. A lot of similarly goofy characters that was just incredibly popular for a very short period of time, inspired two films, and then basically disappeared. I wish I still had some of my Titanes stuff from living there...
