I was wondering if the finals were going to be Gresham vs Lethal.
-
I like how they only get a limited number of rope breaks. I'm interested in seeing a match now where all rope breaks are used and they can just the ropes in their submission holds after that I suppose. The Gresham match had a cool spot where he applied some kind of Indian deathlock and Wheeler Yuta got to the ropes and they announced he used up one of his rope breaks. Gresham had trouble breaking the hold right away and needed the ref to help untangle them. This made Yuta mad and he punched Gresham, and they announced he only got one warning for the punch. It's a different kind of match so I am interested in seeing what else they can do with it.

Dont forget Chainsaw Charlie. I loved that angle on Raw when the outlaws put him and Foley in the dumpster and pushed it off the stage.

I was worried when Cody dropped the TNT title to Brodie Lee, but I enjoyed the Dustin match, and really like the match where Brodie won it, so now I am interested in seeing what match Brodie has next.

I think the Page/Omega story is my favorite part of AEW right now. The tag division is much more interesting to me than the singles division right now. I'm curious if Cody will do a run in at the PPV somewhere.

I wonder if part of the problem Is that he is trying to be something he is not. He may be trying to portray a character whereas those older wrestlers unless they were a gimmick were being an exaggerated version of themselves.

Thank you guys for all your work keeping us entertained

I don't know. It seems to me that whenever new execs enter a company the first thing they like to do is clear away a bunch of projects from their predecessors to make room for the things they want to do.

I read that as Stu Saks at first

WWE TV 08/03 - 08/09 Giannis is a future back to back MVP
TheDuke replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I agree with Sleaze. I really want to see more wrestling with no ropes. It all of a sudden feels more dangerous, more interesting. I also liked no commentary. I could do without the music and camera cuts though. In fact, I think they should do the opposite and just use one camera. It would really make it feel different. -
I was surprised when I looked up Orange Cassidy and saw he was already 36. I am glad he is getting this opportunity now, and am very happy that AEW now exists for the young guys there like Darby Allin who I imagine will have the chance to have more opportunities for a great career than in WWE. Unless covid kills the wrestling business of course. I really liked the main event and really like Orange Cassidy 's promo. I also feel like the tag team division is so much better booked than WWE's where it feels like there are a lot of top teams and it's a highlight of the show.

Is Lana still employed? Maybe he wants to just not rock the boat until her contract ends.

I think he said it was Pat Pattersons idea.

I feel so much sympathy for Vader after listening to that. As much as listening to the Midnights/Fantastics Clash I watch along made me happy, listening to this one made me upset. If Shawn had been willing to work with Vader than Vader would have had a lot more good matches in WWE listening to Cornette. Of course I realized in hindsight that Corny just does not like Shawn and is probably overlooking the fact that Vader was no longer the same Vader as in WCW and it may not have made much difference in his career. I agree it is sickening to think Shawn was shoot kicking Vader in the head after that botch. That seems uncalled for and dangerous.

I completely missed 2 days ago was the 20th anniversary of Bash at the Beach 2000. This important milestone is when Vince Russo forever changed wrestling history. I am surprised nobody created a thread for people to share their thoughts on this historic event and how its implications are still impacting pro wrestling to this day. Of course, as I am sure you all know, I am talking about when Vampiro and the KISS Demon invented "cinematic wrestling " during their "Graveyard" Match. Boneyard, anyone?

They didnt need Bret, DDP, or Sid. But that moment after Hogan knocks Luger down and seems excited to be able to prove to Sting that Lex was lying, and then to slowly realize that Sting was holding the bat Luger brought was great. Then when Sting hits Hulk with the bat it was awesome. It didn't have to be a full heel turn. It could have just been Sting going tweener and deciding Hogan could not be forgiven for years of NWO. It feels like that's how the fans took it.

Well it also shows where the disconnect maybe between older wrestlers and modern fans when comparing good and bad wrestlers. A wrestler may look at a match and see things that are difficult to do or things that just look like shortcuts. But the fan just sees the end product and so is not watching through the same bias. Hence the different opinions on the same match.

Wow I finally got to the end of this episode of The Experience, and watched along with the Midnights/Fantastics from Clash I. It's the very last thing on the podcast, so I would suggest just skipping ahead to the last like 20 minutes or so. It's amazing. Seeing the match while hearing it broken down like that, wow. Did they really call it in the ring like that? I feel like something must be lost in wrestling tradition if in the old days it was just called on the fly like that, and today its planned out before hand. Like I know that's how they used to do matches, but until he walked us through it like that I dont think I appreciated how complicated that process could actually be. I would love to hear more of these.

Wow I was sure Johnny Sorrow was older than that with all the old references he would make on Titans.

I really loved his "Guide to Life" column which I think he wrote in like 2003 on either 411 or a similar site when I was in university. His book reviews inspired me to read books outside of just fantasy novels which I am grateful for as I would have missed out on a lot of great books if I kept reading Tolkien rip offs. I was so excited when he actually printed one of my emails and gave me advice which in turn gave me confidence enough to get a girlfriend at the time. I know he seemed rude to most people, but I really looked up to him at the time.

When I saw that match with the Brazilian girl, Jaynes I think her name was, my thoughts were "Why are they doing a jobber vs jobber match?" But I guess she is not actually supposed to be a jobber even though she lost her debut match on Dynamite. I was surprised Excalibur asked Allie twice about Butcher and Blade, and both times she ignored the question. I assumed they were just going to ignore the whole "Bunny " thing.

Any word on the extent of Fenix's injuries or how long he will be out for?
-
My guess is there is like one person going through classic content to put up, and he only does it part time because it maybe is secondary work added to his existing job at WWE so he isnt given a lot of time for it.

Maybe Flair would replace Andre in the Mega Bucks,
