Survivor Series 2020 Drew McIntyre is just the #2, biatch
TheDuke replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I think it would have been more exciting if Dominic and Buddy were the last 2. Then there would have been that mystique of what's going to happen and is Murphy really a face? -
I dont understand the logic of a babyface (Otis) just being given a spot in the Survivor Series team when everyone else had to win a match. If he was a heel and Adam Pearce was a heel it would make more sense. Before the pandemic I was into Otis as a tag team guy. But now I have no interest in him as a singles guy. He just seems like another mid card comedy act. I really think they need to give the wrestlers a different kayfabe reason for wanting to win Survivor Series. Like maybe a cash prize to the winners, or maybe a future title shot or a bye into a tournament or something. I dont plan on watching Survivor Series, but I hope Drew has the kilt and the sword for it. I know it would never happen, but I would love it if Roman blades and Drew ran his sword across it and made it look like he was cutting it.

My favorite era for Randy Orton was during his feud with Jinder Mahal solely because during every match he would toss the Singh brothers around at ringside. I miss seeing the Singhs bump around and wish they would have just been made into regular managers. I think the idea of having two managers like that is a pretty cool idea and am surprised we havent seen it more often.

Maybe their phone numbers are similar?

The saga of the tree in Jim Cornette's yard was truly epic. I find it ironic that Cornette hates Russo who likes to book shooty bullshit, and then when you hear Corny's ideas it is a lot of shooty bullshit. I kind of think that the Cornette-Russo team is what made me love 1997 WWE so much.

I'm really happy that they have something new ready for Kingston right after losing the title match. I was worried he would be made just another guy after that and the butcher and blade's loss earlier. And I feel like this is a great use of Pac as well. Overall I really enjoyed Dynamite this week.

I really enjoyed the Pure title tournament. I liked the different rules for the matches and how they did different things with them. I was expecting a lot more from the Final but TV it wasnt bad. I'm curious if next week ROH goes back to being the kind of wrestling show that I didn't watch before. I will say that although I enjoyed the matches I dont feel like it made any stars from this.

Who was in the photograph on kenny omega's coffee table? I had a hard time hearing what was being said with the bad audio.

Did you already read the issues of Tomb with Blade in them? Or do you not like Blade? 1970s Marvel is great. I need to read more 1970s DC. It was those giant black and white Essentials books that got me interested in 70s Marvel.

I haven't watched a full episode of Smackdown since I think the first episode on Fox, and before that it had been like a year I think, and havent Raw in forever either. I just PVR the shows and then fastforward through most of them until I see something Im interested in. Since Im not watching it live, I know what segments might interest me from the threads on here. Usually I get through Smackdown in like 40 minutes and Raw in an hour.

I was listening to Bruce Prichard's podcast on Honky Tonk Man and he talked a bit about the three man commentary booth. He said the three rolls were play by play, color, and analysis. I find this strange, as I would have expected the color commentator to do analysis. I'm not sure I could explain what the difference is and maybe that explains WWE commentary is usually just a wall of noise that my brain shuts out.

I was wondering if the finals were going to be Gresham vs Lethal.

I like how they only get a limited number of rope breaks. I'm interested in seeing a match now where all rope breaks are used and they can just the ropes in their submission holds after that I suppose. The Gresham match had a cool spot where he applied some kind of Indian deathlock and Wheeler Yuta got to the ropes and they announced he used up one of his rope breaks. Gresham had trouble breaking the hold right away and needed the ref to help untangle them. This made Yuta mad and he punched Gresham, and they announced he only got one warning for the punch. It's a different kind of match so I am interested in seeing what else they can do with it.

Dont forget Chainsaw Charlie. I loved that angle on Raw when the outlaws put him and Foley in the dumpster and pushed it off the stage.

I was worried when Cody dropped the TNT title to Brodie Lee, but I enjoyed the Dustin match, and really like the match where Brodie won it, so now I am interested in seeing what match Brodie has next.

I think the Page/Omega story is my favorite part of AEW right now. The tag division is much more interesting to me than the singles division right now. I'm curious if Cody will do a run in at the PPV somewhere.

I wonder if part of the problem Is that he is trying to be something he is not. He may be trying to portray a character whereas those older wrestlers unless they were a gimmick were being an exaggerated version of themselves.

Thank you guys for all your work keeping us entertained

I don't know. It seems to me that whenever new execs enter a company the first thing they like to do is clear away a bunch of projects from their predecessors to make room for the things they want to do.

I read that as Stu Saks at first

WWE TV 08/03 - 08/09 Giannis is a future back to back MVP
TheDuke replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I agree with Sleaze. I really want to see more wrestling with no ropes. It all of a sudden feels more dangerous, more interesting. I also liked no commentary. I could do without the music and camera cuts though. In fact, I think they should do the opposite and just use one camera. It would really make it feel different. -
I was surprised when I looked up Orange Cassidy and saw he was already 36. I am glad he is getting this opportunity now, and am very happy that AEW now exists for the young guys there like Darby Allin who I imagine will have the chance to have more opportunities for a great career than in WWE. Unless covid kills the wrestling business of course. I really liked the main event and really like Orange Cassidy 's promo. I also feel like the tag team division is so much better booked than WWE's where it feels like there are a lot of top teams and it's a highlight of the show.
