  1. I think we are supposed to accept that some wrestlers actually have super natural powers now. I think that's the only way the show works. I thought the promos tonight were weak but I liked the main event, and I also liked the Bucks match.
  2. I just wanted to say I agree with this. Thank you as this argument helps me understand why I liked the out there stuff happening in Lucha Underground but not so much in Impact or AEW, since in those places when wacky stuff happens it seems out of place or just done as a joke. I think as a similar reason that is why I was okay with the Undertaker as a kid. I did like the wrestler's court trial of Johnny Swinger though on Impact. Because it seemed actually funny to my sense of humor.
  3. I dont tend to like a lot of comedy in wrestling, but I found the wrestler's court from last week pretty funny. I also liked finding that D'Lo's full name is apparently Dee Lorian Brown.
  4. Impact shows on Game TV where I live on Saturdays, so I will be in the interesting position of watching AEW next week before I watch Impact. I wish Don Callis' van had the Impact logo on the side of it. Are they able to watch AEW online in Japan? I wonder what Japanese fans would think of Omega winning the AEW belt? Also, I wonder what AEW with Japanese commentary would sound like.
  5. Maybe the Kamala figure is an investment for Ryder. Maybe he plans to hold onto it for a few years while it increases in value then sell it for a much higher price.
  6. I enjoyed the Jay Lethal vs Josh Woods match. These pure rules matches are really enjoyable for me to watch. Also I like being able to hear what the announcers are saying. The announcing is enjoyable to me here because they are talking about the match like it's a sport and talking about the strategy and what not.
  7. I think a good angle might be if they kicked Brodie Lee out of the Dark Order and made one of their other members the new exalted one. Maybe have a feud between Brodie and somebody else over leadership of the Dark Order. And then the DO could start being winning a lot more.
  8. Ok so now I'm thinking maybe a ref bump, mysterious attacker comes out, unmasks, and attacks Moxley, ref doesnt see, and then counts the pin for Omega, setting up Moxley for a new feud that will keep him away until the next Pope from Omega. I can totally see them doing that. People may want to pay more money to see Moxley try to win the title back in the rematch.
  9. Omega/Moxley seems like a weird match for tv instead of pay per view. I am assuming some kind of screwy finish even if Omega gets the belt.

    AEW Dark Megathread

That Bionic girl has a very cheesy costume and face paint. I like it. Her partner Queen Frost with her ring cloak and entrance video looked like a Disney Frozen themed gimmick.
  11. Asai Moonshine Miracle Violence Whiskey I like the sound of Holy Demon Run better.
  12. Matt Sydal was appearing on both AEW and ROH this fall as well.
  13. I think it would have been more exciting if Dominic and Buddy were the last 2. Then there would have been that mystique of what's going to happen and is Murphy really a face?
  14. I dont understand the logic of a babyface (Otis) just being given a spot in the Survivor Series team when everyone else had to win a match. If he was a heel and Adam Pearce was a heel it would make more sense. Before the pandemic I was into Otis as a tag team guy. But now I have no interest in him as a singles guy. He just seems like another mid card comedy act. I really think they need to give the wrestlers a different kayfabe reason for wanting to win Survivor Series. Like maybe a cash prize to the winners, or maybe a future title shot or a bye into a tournament or something. I dont plan on watching Survivor Series, but I hope Drew has the kilt and the sword for it. I know it would never happen, but I would love it if Roman blades and Drew ran his sword across it and made it look like he was cutting it.
  15. My favorite era for Randy Orton was during his feud with Jinder Mahal solely because during every match he would toss the Singh brothers around at ringside. I miss seeing the Singhs bump around and wish they would have just been made into regular managers. I think the idea of having two managers like that is a pretty cool idea and am surprised we havent seen it more often.
  16. Maybe their phone numbers are similar?
  17. The saga of the tree in Jim Cornette's yard was truly epic. I find it ironic that Cornette hates Russo who likes to book shooty bullshit, and then when you hear Corny's ideas it is a lot of shooty bullshit. I kind of think that the Cornette-Russo team is what made me love 1997 WWE so much.
  18. I'm really happy that they have something new ready for Kingston right after losing the title match. I was worried he would be made just another guy after that and the butcher and blade's loss earlier. And I feel like this is a great use of Pac as well. Overall I really enjoyed Dynamite this week.
  19. I really enjoyed the Pure title tournament. I liked the different rules for the matches and how they did different things with them. I was expecting a lot more from the Final but TV it wasnt bad. I'm curious if next week ROH goes back to being the kind of wrestling show that I didn't watch before. I will say that although I enjoyed the matches I dont feel like it made any stars from this.
  20. Who was in the photograph on kenny omega's coffee table? I had a hard time hearing what was being said with the bad audio.
  21. Did you already read the issues of Tomb with Blade in them? Or do you not like Blade? 1970s Marvel is great. I need to read more 1970s DC. It was those giant black and white Essentials books that got me interested in 70s Marvel.
  22. I haven't watched a full episode of Smackdown since I think the first episode on Fox, and before that it had been like a year I think, and havent Raw in forever either. I just PVR the shows and then fastforward through most of them until I see something Im interested in. Since Im not watching it live, I know what segments might interest me from the threads on here. Usually I get through Smackdown in like 40 minutes and Raw in an hour.
  23. I was listening to Bruce Prichard's podcast on Honky Tonk Man and he talked a bit about the three man commentary booth. He said the three rolls were play by play, color, and analysis. I find this strange, as I would have expected the color commentator to do analysis. I'm not sure I could explain what the difference is and maybe that explains WWE commentary is usually just a wall of noise that my brain shuts out.
  24. I loved that opening between Roman and Jey. Since Omega and Hangman split up, this High Chief stuff has become my favorite angle in wrestling currently. I think it's because the high chief and family rivalry promos are so different from most of the interviews we hear these days.
  25. I'm still holding out hope that they are, in fact, Tozawa's ninjas after all.
