I would love this if, for WWF feuds that had matches from MSG or the Spectrum or other house shows that were taped, if they included the local promos for those specific matches that only aired on the syndicated programming in the NY or Philly or whatever area. One of my favorite things to watch growing up was the promos for the local house shows on Superstars or whatever, and I always feel like that is missing from the Network and from the DVDs they have put out.

I thought the final segment on Raw should have had something more exciting then Triple H just hitting Angle. Like maybe a pedigree or a shot with the sledgehammer or something. I like Rhonda's facial expressions, and the way she looked during this segment. it felt believable that she was feeling something. I wonder if John Cena will get a last minute match at Fastlane now to try to boost buys and network subscriptions on the final brand specific pay per view.

I like the Rhonda Rousey promo, mainly because it was different from the way everybody else talks.

Oops, I meant Mandy Rose.

I am kinda hoping Amber Rose/Goldust gets picked for that extra slot in the bracket for fan's choice or whatever it is.

My biggest fear is that I would see the same guys every month, and would rarely see fresh talent getting the longer pay per view matches. My hope is that they would go back to 12 "pay per views" per year then, and would go back to having more non pay per view network "specials" that might showcase more undercard talent.

I like the song "Obsession," and it is a better song, but I do like the generic replacement theme song they use for the Saturday Night Main Event episodes on the Network. I think it does a good job of hyping you up for the matches you are about to see. And it sounds like it fits the era. Was there a time where this song was used for Main Event instead of Obsession in the original run?

It was interesting during the Ivory Hall of Fame video showing clips of GLOW and of Right To Censor. I guess those are the two most memorable things Ivory did. It's interesting seeing somebody from the original GLOW go into the hall of fame when the Netflix GLOW is making such a big deal this past year. And it's fun seeing clips from Right To Censor. I am kind of worried to go back and watch RAW on the network from their era, as I am afraid I might find that RTC was boring and uninteresting and not the great midcard heel group I thought it was at the time.

Is most of Bloopers, Bleeps, & Bodyslams just clips from Tuesday Night Titans? Because they already have Tuesday Night Titans on the network, so have that VHS seems kind of redundant.

All the 80's Coliseum tapes that went up just seem to me to be clips from other things. I am guessing 1990 with Supertape 1 is the first tape of the ones that were uploaded that has exclusive matches taped specifically for CHV. I noticed the 80's Wrestlefest tapes are missing, they start with Wrestlefest 90, and I believe those matches were exclusive to those tapes, so I am wondering why they weren't included.

I love midget wrestling! I am disappointed that they didn't do the "bite the referee's butt" spot though. How can you have a midget match and not have anyone biting the ref's butt? In fact this match had almost no comedy in it. There was one funny spot though where the masked midget jumped from the ring apron, did a backflip, and fell face first on the outside floor! And then the unmasked midget was so surprised at what happened, that he fell over too! Hilarious! 4 stars. (Would have been 6 stars if somebody's butt had been bit).

I really enjoyed Sami Zayn's work in this match as the cowardly heel. Trying to avoid getting tagged by hopping from one side of the post to the other was pretty fun. I liked seeing him leave the ring when he first tagged in to try to get away from Braun. It was a really interesting dynamic where Sami was the heel when the men were in the ring, but Alexa was the heel when the women were in the ring. It's also a bit weird seeing Braun be a scream monster who just wants to hurt people on Raw, and then seeming him act kind of goofy here on Mixed Match Challenge. I am starting to wonder now though if Braun and Alexa will win the whole tournament since their act so far seems to be the best one.

Looking at the brackets for this thing, I am wondering if they are aiming for a final of Miz/Asuka vs Roode/Flair. It would be a good setup for Asuka vs Flair if thats what they are doing at Mania. Also, I think it would be an interesting idea if during one of Charlotte's Mixed Match Challenge matches that Carmella came out to cash in the briefcase. We saw a briefcase cash in during Wrestlemania when Rollins turned Reigns/Lesnar into a three way, so we know it can be done during a match. It would be interesting to see how it would effect a mixed tag match.

So is Rockstar Spud retired or injured or something? I assume he is not going to be wrestling as GM. I was excited to see Tyler Bates in the tournament, but was worried to see he was against TJP in his first match as TJP seems like one of the bigger stars of 205 and I was right to be worried. I am glad to hear Bates will be wrestling on NXT tomorrow though. I would like to see a bracket for the tournament

This. This to me felt like the biggest thing that sets it aside from the majority of the WWE matches I watch. Even some of the best guys and matches in WWE I've seen the last few years, I still end up thinking of their matches in terms of a list of moves or spots, while this felt like they were each actually trying to beat each other.

I only watched the main event tonight, but im glad I did. A lot of modern matches just feel like 2 guys doing a bunch of moves or spots until the finish, especially in WWE. But in this main event, it really felt to me like each was trying to win. It helped I think that the crowd seemed really behind Gargano. It felt like we weren't just hoping the bookers had picked Gargano, but like the outcome was actually being fought over in the middle of the ring. I like the bit with the women as well. And then the post match angle really made me excited to see what happens next, so good job NXT.

Southwest Championship Wrestling - Best of?
TheDuke replied to thebrainfollower's topic in Pro Wrestling
Shoutfactory TV right now has a bunch of the Mean Gene Classic Wrestling specials, including one on Southwest. http://www.shoutfactorytv.com/lone-star-shootout/5a3c07970977561554000112 -
I liked the Cedric Alexander vs Mustafa Ali match. The Hideo Itami vs Jack Gallagher match was disappointing though. I did like the AJ Styles vs Sami Zayn match from Smackdown as well. I thought it funny that Corey Graves called a Michinoku Driver earlier in the match, and then the finish was the Blue Thunder Bomb, when they both looked like the same move to me. However I'm not really a moves expert. I rescind my earlier hope that Rusev would win the Rumble. Tonight they treated him like a JTTS in what was basically a short squash match before the main event, so obviously they don't really have plans for him.

I would be happy seeing an Elias vs Cena match at Wrestlemania and leaving the Undertaker home. I agree on the Miz/Reigns finish. That seemed inventive, but such an obvious idea, making Miz look like a smart heel who outsmarts his opponents in the ring. Have they done that before, the spear into the exposed turnbuckle? I'm going to miss the fun matches we got out of the Reigns IC championship. I like having the longer singles matches on tv every week instead of the typical angles and overbooked and multi-man/tag matches he is probably going to be in each week again now.

Off topic, but please do another episode of Imaginary Stories. Maybe have Pete join in if he is not busy.

Would the 80's Worldwide episodes be a good addition to the network? Or does the network already having the 80's World Championship Wrestling show from that period make Worldwide redundant?
-
I agree a Smackdown guy would be a better choice than a Raw guy to win the Rumble at this point so we don't end up with Reigns winning the Rumble, but personally I would rather see Rusev win the Rumble right now rather than Nakamura.
