His wiki page says he started wrestling for Stampede Wrestling in 1985 and won his first title in 1987 but I also found on Wrestlingdata his first match record in 1988. So, I think it should be up to LowBlow to see what he thinks.

My review of the match Matt Franklin assigned to me last week (Lex Luger vs Dan Spivey from WrestleWar 1991) is right here: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/18297-lex-luger-vs-dan-spivey-wcw-wrestle-war-022491/

[1991-02-24-WCW-Wrestle War '91] Lex Luger vs Dan Spivey
SirEdger replied to Loss's topic in February 1991
Thanks to Matt Franklin who assigned me this match to watch in the Secret Santo thread. Upon watching this, I learned that this match was set up by Spivey's interference at Halloween Havoc between Lex Luger and Stan Hansen (I obviously didn't watch Halloween Havoc 1990 so there you go). From the footage I saw from that period of time, I strongly believe that Lex Luger was at his peak and looked so good, especially later in the year when he's paired with Harley Race as his manager. It's also interesting to see Luger facing off someone physically bigger than him with Spivey being 6 foot 8 and Luger 6 foot 6. While it's the typical Luger match we're getting on offense, I thought the way he sold Dan Spivey's made Spivey look like a million bucks. You don't expect to see big guys like them work so smoothly because it's not their typical pattern of work but that's exactly what we got. What started as a typical Luger match ended up in a more unusual finish with a win by the skin of his teeth so in that regard, I was really pleasantly surprised. It's a bit sad that afterwards, Spivey kinda vanished as he probably was working mostly in Japan (All-Japan?) because one could've argued that Spivey's stock had risen from this match, with all the pieces of the puzzle clicking together that night to make this an excellent match for both men involved. Overall, that's a solid 3 1/2 *** in my book.- 13 replies

January 17th, 1985 CNE Coliseum, Toronto, ON -Chris Candido beat Ivan Putski in 17:47 -Bobby Fulton beat MS-1 in 6:42 -Satanico upsets Jos LeDuc in 8:05 NWA Canadian International TV Championship: Adrian Adonis (w/Paul E. Dangerously & Nasty Boys) beat "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal in 6:34 to retain 10-Men Tag: Pirata Morgan & The Creatchman Family (w/Eddy & Floyd Creatchman) beat Gilles Poisson, Hercules Ayala & The Invaders -Bruce Hart beat Rip Rogers (w/Missy Hyatt) in 1:08 by DQ after interference from Eddie Gilbert & Rick Steiner. Keith Hart & Owen Hart, in a surprise appearance out of Puerto Rico, make the save. NWA Enforcer Bruno Sammartino comes out and restarts the match, ordering now a tag team match, banning Bruce Hart & Rip Rogers from ringside! -Hyatt International (Eddie Gilbert & Rick Steiner, w/Missy Hyatt) beat Keith & Owen Hart after Gilbert used a rag of ether on Keith Hart at 10:24! 6-Men Tag: The Guerreros beat the Rougeau Brothers at 19:30 after Mando Guerrero pinned Jacques Rougeau with a handful of tights! Looks like Mando Guerrero earned himself a future NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Championship match!

Interesting call with the double DQ in that card. Given the technical prowess of the Varsity Club Rush, not the kind of result I would expect. But when you're wrestling Nord & Cactus Jack....

First, I would smack the devil on the head with a chair. And piledrive him through a table. But then, if I really am forced to choose between both options, I'd go with option 2. That's an absolute no-brainer.

Sasha's been involved in 3 injuries in her 5 1/2 years in WWE. There's no real basis for her getting a reputation other than women's wrestling fandom tend to start a witch hunt after every injury. Like Nia Jax got a ridiculous amount of social media hate when Bayley got injured last summer which you rarely see when a man gets injured. Didn't Jack Swagger get heat because he injured Dolph Ziggler & Bad News Barrett in a not-so-long period of time. Swagger gave Ziggler a concussion during his 2nd reign as World Heavyweight Champion and I think that he dislocated Barrett's shoulder throwing him into a barricade - and that also pretty much ended Barrett's push. Why haven't we seen that much uproar about Swagger that we're seeing for Sasha Banks over Paige's obvious career-ending injury?

It's airing on the WWE Network Thursday night at 10 PM.

[1995-10-16-WWF-Raw] Bret Hart vs Isaac Yankem (Cage)
SirEdger replied to Loss's topic in October 1995
To answer your question about the shark cage, it was there because Gorilla Monsoon wanted to punish Jerry Lawler if he decided to physically get involved in the match to help Isaac Yankem. I can understand though why you question the logistics of this one a bit.- 10 replies

I know I'm behind but no worries, I'll keep a backlog from the matches given if I'm late. I should have my review of Luger vs Spivey from Wrestlewar 1991 in a couple of days. SPS, I picked for you a classic feud, probably the biggest in Montreal during the summer of 1985. The follow-up to the St-Jean-Baptiste Massacre between the Rougeau Brothers and the Garvins, from International Wrestling/Lutte Internationale. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDpEGKjbi50

Tiger Mask vs Gran Hamada? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!

I would've loved to see Chris Adams vs Norman Smiley in that era. And you can't trust Larry Z & Mr. Saito...At least, I don't!
-
Honestly, this is the Stud Stable's tournament to lose. They got everything going in their favor right now!

I applaud you for that King of the Mountain writeup. From personal past experience in fantasy wrestling feds, long detailed writeups for this match types are the most difficult to write because there is so much detail you need to keep track of. And you did a fantastic job to keep us informed clearly and entertained. Major success and UWF is on fire!

I really like seeing the Steiner Brothers in their formative years unde the tutelage of Eddie Gilbert & Missy Hyatt. This really makes for an interesting perspective! -
Raymond definitely always was the one in the family who had the best business savvy. You don't retire at 34 like he did when he still had many good years left to perform!
-
Indeed, I totally was expecting the Bolshevik Revolution to be one of the favorites to win the tournament! Not so fast haha!
-
I got everything I asked for in this card. Agreed with everyone that the tournament is off to a great start!
-
Loving the ranking system. Giving us a great idea of where everyone truly ranks in the promotion.

Uber-Paige fans are Sasha haters will definitely put the blame on her, 100%. But this is pro wrestling. Injuries & accidents happen. It's horrible but given her serious neck injury prior to that return, it was kinda bound to happen eventually. It's more tragic because she's only 25, she's not even at the prime of her career and she has to hang it up.
-
That would be a typical WWE Creative move to do so but I hope they're gonna keep her on a managerial role with Absolution.

The return of Dr. D! He's gonna wreak havoc everywhere in the NWA for sure! And congrats to the Von Erichs for claiming the WCCW World 6-Men Tag Team Championship! -
I love that you spent almost that entire episode focusing on your midcard and lower midcard. Provides so much depth to your roster in the process. Can't wait for the start of the US Tag Title tournament!

I just love how you're developing Owen Hart here. Gives me a lot of material to work with when I get him back full-time
