  1. Obviously, they were headed towards that PPV confrontation between Nick Aldis and Marty Scurll for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship but that went out the window. But I think they uploaded everything they had.
  2. "Jewish and lager"...seems like your autocorrect is acting up! :p Seriously, great card here. Dick Togo is the dark horse in my book to win the whole thing.
  3. The Johnsons will finally have another shot at their 15 minutes of fame!
  4. Tully was great, as usual, but I marked out way more at the York Foundation shirt that Ricky Morton was wearing under his jacket.
  5. CAN-AM PRO PRESENTS BASEBRAWL August 5th, Brooks Stadium, Paducah, KY Attendance: 903 -Sylvain Grenier (w/Rick Martel) beat Can-Am Tag Team Champion Mike Awesome in 8:20 after a distraction from Rick Martel -Crash Holly beat Donovan Morgan in 14:34 Pro Wrestling OUTLAW Special Attraction, 1st Round Match in PWO Title Tournament: Super Crazy beat Blue Panther in 15:20 with the Triple Moonsault Can-Am Pro vs PWO: The Hardy Boyz beat The Triple Threat (Bam Bam Bigelow & Chris Candido) in 37:07 after a Swanton Bomb from Jeff Hardy to Bam Bam Bigelow 3-Way Tag Match: Money International (Marty Jannetty & Perro Aguayo Jr, w/Ted Dibiase) beat Badd Company & Kai En Tai (Dick Togo & Shiryu) in 16:57 after Jannetty pinned Tanaka -Tommy Dreamer & Kamala (w/Beulah McGillicutty & Kimchee) beat Terry Funk & Sabu (PWO) in 19:06 after a Dreamer DDT by Dreamer on Sabu.

We try to stay true as much as possible to retirements but with injuries, it's up to the writer to deal with them.
  7. Enzo didn't lose his job with WWE for the rape allegation as much as he did because he didn't tell WWE that he was being investigated for that. Enzo would probably still be there if he had done that. Hell, Rich Swann was fired after his domestic dispute incident with Su Yung at the exact same time but at least, he notified WWE about it, which gave him a bit of a chance.
  8. I don't know how I should feel about Andrade showing more support on Twitter for Dominik getting caned mercilessly by Seth Rollins than his own father-in-law getting punted by Randy Orton.
  9. On a sidenote, Mickie James is advertised to return tonight. That's one return that I'll welcome.
  10. Hadn't had the chance to commentate on the show indeed but the behind the scenes dynamic between Jarrett's crew and the "indy crew" will be pretty interesting. You set this up very well with this first show. I'd love to see a Danielson/Lawler finals!

    This one will be great!
  12. Bruce Prichard is fully capable of booking Braun like a dick without anyone giving him input. I know that Bray probably has a bigger influence on the direction of his character than most do but I don't think he's the one that made Braun look like that on Smackdown. He might have suggested to give some layers to The Fiend (hence the direction they're hinting to go at the moment) but that has to be it.

Beauty of this specific promotion: it just makes me learn more about that shoot style you're going for. Pretty realistic and great show overall!
  14. The reasoning behind the segment with Braun/The Fiend/Alexa seemed all over the place. They actually seem to be headed in 3 different directions at the same time: 1) They're trying for a double turn with Braun becoming heel (based on the notion thus far that The Fiend changes everyone he comes into contact with) and The Fiend turning babyface somehow (based on The Fiend's reaction to Alexa's behavior right before being interrupted by Braun, they seem to hint in that direction) 2) Alexa has gone full on Stockholm Syndrome mode and is falling under the spell of The Fiend or something. Or just like @sek69 pointed out, they're going for a Beauty and the Beast thing, just switching Braun with The Fiend - which would tie in my #1 point 3) Alexa and Braun are just trying to outsmart the Fiend for Summerslam and we'll find out that Braun wasn't really meaning what he said about "not caring about Alexa" in his promo...which would absolutely be dumb but that would be close to par with WWE Creative. Either way, I just felt that the ending of last week's show was then useless with what they continued that build with. I was willing to give them a chance last week with it but I feel like they've already dropped the ball with this, considering that Alexa could've been (still could be though) an intriguing element to that story. Always felt that Alexa was the best woman suited for that type of angle on the current main roster and they're wasting a good opportunity.
  15. Don't know how this will affect but it might not turn good for AEW, considering that Reilly was the one who brought AEW to TNT.
  16. Oh yeah, if Verne hadn't been so carny in trying to steal Hogan's merch money from Japan, Hogan would've been his meal ticket to make the AWA a serious competition to WWF around that time. And having Hogan as the AWA World champion back then would've more than likely meant less people making the jump to WWF and Vince might've struggled more than he did to launch his global domination thing. Hell, he might've been tempted to keep Bob Backlund longer as WWF Champion before annointing someone else as its top babyface. I've always felt like Verne delaying Hogan beating Bockwinkel for the title was only the straw that broke the camel's back while the merch money thing from Japan was really the crux of the problems between Hogan and Verne.
  17. TV TAPINGS RESULTS & SPOILERS August 2nd, Hershey Centre, Mississauga, ON Attendance: 2,839 CAN-AM TV Episode #1 Airing on August 8th Most of the show featured clips from the Can-Am Pro Tag Tournament that took place in Warrensville Heights, OH in which Mohammed Yone & Mike Awesome became the first ever Can-Am Pro Tag Team Championship. Much emphasis was also put on Rhino Goring Mike Awesome through a table, with his business manager Stephanie McMahon cheering him on. A vignette hyping the debut of "Can-Am's hottest new idem", Erik Watts & Simply Luscious was aired. Joey Styles announced that Watts would be making his first appearance with Can-Am Pro when the promotion debuts at the Colisée Jean-Béliveau in Longueuil, QC on August 9th -Joey Matthews beat Ulf Hermann in 9:59 with the Virginia Necktie CAN-AM TV Episode #2 Airing on August 15th The show started with a mock funeral for Mike Awesome with Stephanie McMahon, playing the fake sorrowed widow, and her client, "The Rookie Monster" Rhino. Stephanie saying it was a shame that Awesome's run - and career - in Can-Am Pro was as short as it did but that's what happens when you cross paths with a war machine like her Rookie Monster and meal ticket that is Rhino. She and Rhino are thinking like one and they're all about destroying the competition in this company and this is what they'll do with Bruce Hart on next week's episode! -Hardcore Holly defeated Negro Casas (Pro Wrestling OUTLAW) in 11:25 with the Alabama Slam -Terry Funk defeated Winston Jephson in 7:54 with the Spinning Toe Hold. Funk was supposed to wrestle Dr. Wagner Jr but because of his back injury suffered on August 1st, he wasn't cleared to compete in time for the TV tapings. Can-Am Pro TV Championship: Carl Ouellet (mystery entrant) wins the 5-Way Elimination Dance to become the first Can-Am Pro TV Champion in 15:53 Order of Elimination: Genichiro Tenryu by Stan Hansen with a Lariat Joey Matthews by Chris Candido with the Blonde Bombshell Chris Candido by Stan Hansen with a Lariat Stan Hansen was eliminated after interference from a hooded man, who used the Can-Am Pro TV Championship belt to knock out Hansen, allowing Ouellet to score the pinfall upset victory. Who was that mystery man? CAN-AM TV Episode 3 Airing on August 22nd The show started with Joey Styles in the ring, interviewing Hardcore Holly Joey Styles: At this time, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the ring, Hardcore Holly! (Hardcore Holly makes his way to the ring to a mixed reaction, with more boos than cheers. That doesn't seem to phase Holly whatsoever; in fact, he feels very confident.) Joey Styles: Alright, Hardcore Holly, you certainly made quite an impression last week on this program by defeating the figurehead of our sister promotion, Pro Wrestling OUTLAW in Negro Casas and I don't think there's a doubt in your mind that your abilities can bring you to the top here in Can-Am Pro Wrestling. Hardcore Holly: Well, Joey Styles, if I had any doubt, I wouldn't be here. Hell, I wouldn't be wrestling, period. When you got confidence in yourself and you know all the right people, it makes al the difference in the world. This is what it takes to ensure your way to the top of the mountain. It's all about who you know. Joey Styles: All about who you know? Hardcore Holly: C'mon, Joey, don't play dumb. You know exactly what I mean. You're a wrestling nerd, you should know about the history between myself and our esteemed Commissioner, the one and only "Bullet" Bob Armstrong. He and I go way back. He gave me a big break in the business and I got to thank him for that. But now, it soon gonna be his turn to thank me when he makes me the first Can-Am Heavyweight Champion and that I make this promotion go international. Joey Styles: Do you honestly believe that Bob Armstrong will hand you that championship like you're over everybody else? You know this isn't how it works here! Hardcore Holly: See, that's where you're wrong, Joey Styles. YOU don't know how it works. Bob Armstrong has been like a father to me for so long; he loves me like I was one of his own sons and he's treating me like one of them so I'm gonna make him even prouder when he makes me the Can-Am Heavyweight Champion and I'll carry this title with pride. And maybe I'll get to defend it as you said, in our sister promotion OUTLAW and show them who's the best wrestler on the whole damn planet. Now, I know that Bullet Bob doesn't want me to steal his thunder so I'm gonna let him make that announcement himself. Bob, I'll be waiting with open arms and a big smile on my face, my man! (Hardcore Holly leaves the ring to a chorus of boos as Joey Styles runs the card for tonight's episode.) -Bruce Hart upsets Rhino in 14:24 after Rhino accidentally missing a Gore and knocking himself out by hitting a chair positioned between 2 turnbuckles that Stephanie McMahon had inserted there. With a segment airing after the next commercial break, Stephanie and Rhino get into a huge fight with Rhino blaming Stephanie for his loss and says that this isn't gonna work at all. Rhino says he's gonna go to Bullet Bob's office and give him his notice! Stephanie is completely devastated... -In the TV main event, Adam Flash & Tommy Dreamer (w/Beulah McGillicutty) beat "The Prospect" Donovan Morgan & Bam Bam Bigelow (w/Francine) in 28:42 after a Dreamer DDT on Bigelow. "The Franchise" Shane Douglas was at commentary for the match with Joey Styles and it was mentioned that Donovan Morgan was a prospect for The Triple Threat. After the match, there was a staredown between Douglas and Dreamer from the ring area but no physical confrontation....
  18. And it seems like the NBA will keep the hub concept for 2020-2021 too. Also totally expect the NHL to do the same as well. Seriously, every sports league should consider that option for next season as well.
  19. O'Reilly is not the only athlete with diabetes playing right now in the COVID environment. Montreal Canadiens' F Max Domi is also a diabetic and he's been cleared to play as well. Although, they're in a hub and everything is tightly controlled but still, I understand the concern. I hope you meant ROH's Rush and not Lio Rush.
  20. -Dr. Wagner Jr has suffered a Lumbosacral Sprain during his match in the debut show for Can-Am Pro and we're told he'll be missing the bulk TV tapings in Mississauga on August 2nd but he should be cleared to return to action next weekend. -Speaking of TV tapings, word going around is that Can-Am Pro officials will alternate between bulk tapings of multiple episodes and taping one episode per night, with plenty of time between airings to edit shows and incorporate clips from other shows. Those cards would also feature exclusive matches for people in attendance that wouldn't be taped for TV or VHS releases. -The booking committee in Can-Am Pro consists of Bullet Bob Armstrong, Ted Dibiase and Rick Martel but there seems to already be some tensions, particularly between Martel and Armstrong. Martel is pushing for the promotion to hire Jacques Rougeau to boost ticket sales for events in Quebec but Bullet Bob argues that this would be a short-sighted move at the moment, considering that they also plan to run a bit everywhere possible. Plus, other Can-Am Pro officials are said to be working on developing their working relationship with Pro Wrestling OUTLAW with talent loans and more joint shows in the future. A first loan is allegedly in the works already. -Finally, Genichiro Tenryu's time in Can-Am Pro is said to be almost done already. It isn't said to be any ill will between both parties but Tenryu had expressed the wish to spend more time in Japan but with the Can-Am Pro current schedule, it isn't said to be feasible. Can-Am officials are currently working on a solution to satisfy Tenryu and rumor has it that Can-Am Pro's working relationship with OUTLAW might come into play. Tenryu is scheduled to work the first TV tapings in Mississauga, being involved in a 5-Way Dance to crown the first Can-Am TV Champion.
  21. Wow. I didn't even pay attention with the size thing and everything. And considering how Dijak has seemingly been written off a few weeks ago in his match with Karrion Kross, it would make sense that he'd be one of the stable members.
  22. Feels great to see EY back again as the World Class Maniac.
  23. You really remind me that I need to buy this as soon as I can have more free time. That and Mad Dog Vachon's bio from Pat as well.
  24. Wow. Bold move to have both Liger & Mysterio wrestling to a draw to open the tournament. Liger was my shoe-in for the title win but now, gotta re-think things for my bracket! Maybe this is Low-Ki's to win!
  25. From what I'm hearing, Anna Jay looked like a million bucks again - which is pretty telling of her potential. AEW might have found the girl to build the division around for the future. I was considering skipping this but knowing that Veda is doing commentary with Tony Schiavone and Shaul Guerrero is doing ring announcing duties, I might give it a look after all! Just good to see Shaul involved again in some capacity in the wrestling business.
