As down as I am with all this classic footage. I'm bothered by the notion that USWA is being categorized as "Global Wrestling Federation"

I'm recalling a promo from Col. DeBeers in the AWA about Scott Hall being on steroids and demanding that he be drug tested.

Is there any truth to what's been going around twitter, with Mick's son joining the creative team?

I wish they'd correct their mistake and list that one episode of WCW correctly!

I get this on my Roku TV all the time. Just log in to your account on their website and add the episodes you want to watch to your watchlist.

If this ever happens, and footage of it actually exists: The Heyman promo about Lawler being the big man in town explaining why Tennessee has so many lesbians is a must!

I think Sek nailed it. Someone saw the popularity of NWA Classics, and realized there's a viable market for classic wrestling. I'm hoping to see Memphis and Florida go up next!

The Tony/David/Tommy Young/Ric Flair segment from the 12/7/85 episode is amazing. Tony and David interview Tommy about the finish of the Starrcade title match, and David sounds like a lawyer doing a cross examination, trying to plead his case for Dusty to be the new champion. Flair comes out and completely rips David apart.

At least some of them are right, because one of the 1985 ones features the buildup to Starcade '85, with Bob Geigel decreeing that Tully doesn't have to give Magnum a title shot at Starcade. But, then Jimmy Crockett finds a loophole to make the match.

When Vince McMahon "fired" Eric Bischoff as RAW GM in 2003, and spent the whole show promising that he'd name a new one at the end of the night. Right before the end, JR tells Vince that Austin is set for No Way Out, and Vince announced the new GM of RAW. . . . Eric Bischoff! I wasn't even excited the prospect of Austin's return. I was just dumbstruck that they'd basically wasted the whole two hours and did a bait and switch on the payoff. I was in my second year of college and felt like I'd just wasted two hours of my life. I kept up with the goings on, by reading results and stuff, but, it wasn't until the next year that I'd started watching again.

This makes the most sense to me.

I was thinking the Dudleys because they'd fit in with the Brothers of Destruction as far as being longtime veterans. And, there was that brief period, before Rowan got injured, when Harper and Rowan were using the 3D and Bubba commented that he wanted to Dudleys vs Harper/Rowan.

Things A Smart Wrestler Should Never Do...

Isn't it obvious it has to involve the Undertaker? What with how HIAC ended? I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. Who else is there to team with Taker and Kane against the Wyatt Family?
-
If Reigns is going for the title next month, who does that leave for a potential Survivor Series match with the Wyatts? The only people coming to mind offhand would be The Dudleys.

I'd completely forgotten about John's preference for the gang rape. If I had the choice, I'd probably prefer voting for this match. Akiyama throws everything at Misawa that he can think of, but Misawa comes back to win. That's not unusual in the least, that pretty much sums up the latter portion of Misawa's career. But, this is a case where it works, because Akiyama brings a ton of offense with him, and Misawa adds a bunch of little touches that make the whole thing come together pretty well. There are tons of better Misawa performances to be sure, but, this is still a serious step up for Akiyama.

The newest WCW Timeline edition: 1985 with Magnum TA is a solid interview, but it's pretty low-key compared to the Cornette and Bischoff editions. Of course, even though it happened in '86, they talk about the accident. Magnum even doubts that he was going to win the strap from Flair at Starrcade. He figures that he'd have worked Nikita, or continued the angle with Jimmy Garvin.

I reviewed ROH Final Battle 2014. Holy crap,it's almost godawful from start to to finish.

That reminds of one of the early Nitro's when he used the airport line, and said the pilot asked him if Sting could trust Luger. "I said 'Hey Sky-King, you just fly this plane. Let Sting worry about Luger.' "

But, he never went by the name Tom Zenk, only the "Z-Man" - so what's the York Foundation going to call him?- 21 replies

[1999-06-11-AJPW-Super Power Series] Mitsuharu Misawa vs Kenta Kobashi
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in June 1999
The Tiger Driver '91 kick out didn't bother me too much, because they'd already set that precedent in '97, with the idea that Kobashi used every last bit of strength to kick out of that, and it allows Misawa to put him away with the running elbow. I wasn't a huge fan of the idea, but, at least it had some foundation to it. But, the head drop overkill and Misawa's inconsistent selling is what ruined this for me.- 14 replies

If Cole won, then I'd have taken O'Reilly in the main event. But, now Lethal seems like a lock.

When I was seven or eight years old, probably 1990 or 91. I had a dream that I got to randomly hang out with the Four Horsemen. Childhood Mike's version of this, is literally just talking to them casually, nothing like what it would have been like to hang out with them for real during those day.
